Whistling Cliffs

Anubismon thought Talvi's threat was amusing as hollow as it was. Sam then proposed a question in what they should do next. "That is simple. You continue living and doing your duty as both hybrids and agents. Should your copies emerge, then it is up to you to defeat them. Only you can defeat your other, no one else can truly defeat them. Though I have a feeling that this meeting will not happen for any foreseen time. Grow stronger hybrids, and try to put today's events to the recesses of your minds and know that you survived and that is the most important part. My faith in you new breed of hybrids allows me peace of mind. Now go, you have been away from your organization much longer then needed. Farewell." Anubismon began to float into the sky, he eyed Talvi one last time before vanishing with a grin. Whether that was directed at Talvi, well, perhaps. Thus, the new hybrids were left alone at last in victory.

Talvi was somewhat surprised. Had she gotten a grin out of a god? It was an amusing thought. She liked it though it made her feel special? Maybe even a little bit powerful. With a sigh she turned to Sam her question of what now had been answered. Talvi agreed with him. They should return to base.

"Shall we then?" Talvi said questioningly. She grabbed Sam's arm to help her up. The other girls red and tear stained face making her feel a little bad. At the same time she thought there was nothing crying could solve. She kept her mouth shut though and headed for the door. It felt as cold as ever. The wind was still strong and in truth it felt much colder. Was the sun setting or had it already set?

It was hard to tell as everything looked grey for miles. They had a short yet long walk to get back to where the transport pod had left them. Hopefully it was still there she had no desire to trek through the snowy wasteland and get lost. Let alone freeze to death.

She didn't bother waiting for Sam. She stepped out into the snow. If she didn't follow immediately then she probably just needed some time alone. She'd wait in the pod. It had heating at least though it just barely worked in such extreme conditions she had noticed on their arrival.

It had felt like an entire day passed not just a few hours. It was an odd thought really. One that made her wonder if time was going to always be skewed now. She had things to do would time fly by for her or drag on. How often would she feel like this. Like an entire day passed in the blink of an eye.

She stepped into the pod thankful it had waited. The doors were frozen open however. She pushed the button telling it to wait. And another for the heating. Hopefully it could warm up enough to close the doors. Or else they would risk wind chill and frost bite from the moving vehicle.

The girl didn't trust herself to speak so she merely nodded her head as Talvi asked her. She felt bad and the fact she couldn't do anything to save Andromeda stung far worse than any injury she could have received. She would have to be patient with herself as she healed. The grin she had seen made it a bit better but not enough to rekindle her broken heart. It was like she had lost a part of herself when Andromeda was taken from her. In a way she had.

She took longer than she thought to finally follow after Talvi, mere minutes had eslasped as she sat there broken and confused. She needed more time to reflect on the past few hours but that was best done by herself. Back in the guild with nothing else to keep her from mourning. It would appear crazy to anyone else but Sam had always been emotionally connected to others. So it was no surprise to her that she was like this. She would just have to accept it on her own terms, she was okay with it but would her friends be?

She found herself walking to Talvi unaware of how she had gotten the nerve to. Perhaps it was the promise she had give to Anubismon to stop the evil that was about to appear before them. Yes that was it, nothing else came close. She had to hold onto her hope and the facts that they could do this. Her thoughts wandered to memories that she had buried. The ones that needed to be cultivated so she could keep the others going. She was Earth after all, she needed to stay strong and sure. She knew she could do this. She got into the pod and smiled to Talvi. "I'll be okay, I'll keep Andromeda's memory alive while we conquer these new foes." She said. She knew it was the truth since she always bounced back.

The door was still frozen open as the heating came on so she sat there waiting for the door to finally shut. 

The ride back would be quiet on her end but not because of sadness but of reflection. Aimed at the future not at the past, the present was going to be okay. She had allies now and she no longer felt afraid to ask for help.  Come the following days she would see more of her potiental and meet new people and Digimon. 


How many were going to cross her path? She had no idea and really didn't want to guess. She stared out the window as the pod took them home. 

Talvi nodded. The ride back was a long and ponderous one. In truth she couldn't wait til she got back. She'd check the time and if it was still a decent hour she'd probably hit the training area. She needed to learn how to use her new form. It probably wouldn't be as easy as she was hoping but it did good to keep busy.

She saw the lights of the city and relief set in. Soon they would be back at the base. And despite her initial exhaustion she was starting to feel a lot better.
