Camo Inn

Martha smiled at the news of Kemba's improvement, "They do say love is the best medicine. Sometimes I wish I could be young again and rediscover my husband for the first time. Ah well! As for those plants, I had a feeling you would ask for some. I prepared a special something for the trouble Kim caused you and Kemba yesterday. Both of your breakfasts are on us." Martha disappeared behind a set of saloon doors and returned momentarily with a plate of greens. It had steam emanating from its surface, she had warmed them up. It had a black liquid drizzled fancy over it. "This was Belle's favorite, steamed greens with mineral drizzle. She asked for it nearly every time. We Chamelemon are insect and plant eaters so this is a family recipe, I opted out insect drizzle for ground to speck mineral stones in a chocolate sauce. The greens are freshly cut, washed thoroughly and steamed to soften with a slight amount of salt sprinkled on. Your father tasted this and it was the first time he let down his intimidating stance. It was almost like his ankles buckled from the two tastes. Oh your mother and I couldn't contain ourselves, he was so embarrassed." She placed it in front of Theos.

"There is plenty more if you'd like some seconds. If you like, I can put out Kemba's breakfast and you can bring it to him yourself, or I can do it once my other guests are fed and the morning rush dies down." Martha said, Kim walked over and placed down a silver bowl with sparkling water inside. "Sorry for the trouble I caused yesterday." Kim said. Martha smiled and walked to assist another table. Kim sat down next to Theos.

"There is plenty more if you'd like some seconds. If you like, I can put out Kemba's breakfast and you can bring it to him yourself, or I can do it once my other guests are fed and the morning rush dies down." Theos gaze went to Kim and nodded. "Sorry for the trouble I caused yesterday." Kim said. Martha smiled and walked to assist another table. Kim sat down next to Theos.


Theos took a bite and truely was in heaven. It was amazing. He couldn't help but to ask for seconds. Taking time to savor the second plate. 

"Your mom punishing you pretty good huh," Theos asked Kim. He had to admit he felt a bit bad though also in a way he felt she deserved it. A terrible thought he knew. At least it was teaching her not to do it again. Goodness knows Kemba learned his lesson.

I have never seen my parents so angry with me before. I understand their concern and why I had to be punished. I really put Kemba in danger but I was trying to help. Honest." Kim said, "I didn't realize how dangerous that place actually was. Lord Kilgath said nothing to me about Blake being the juniors champion or I would have told him to call it off." Kim added. She took a bottle of water and refilled Theos bowl. "Are you still upset with me?" She asked.

"Yes she is. I am grounded and have to stay in this house and do some chores. I have never seen my parents so angry with me before. I understand their concern and why I had to be punished. I really put Kemba in danger but I was trying to help. Honest." Theos believed her, "I didn't realize how dangerous that place actually was. Lord Kilgath said nothing to me about Blake being the juniors champion or I would have told him to call it off." Theos finished his bowl of water and watched Kim refill it. "Are you still upset with me?" She asked.


"Not really. I'm more relieved than anything. Kemba is going to live and that is what matters," Theos responded finishing. He looked to her mother. "I'll take the tray up to him." Theos said so she could prep the plate. "I thank you for trying though." He said turning back to Kim.

Once she came with the tray he would take it with thanks. He'd head back upstairs trying his best not to overbalance and get food on his face. Opening the door he'd head in to see Kemba.

Kemba was still happily sleeping, his face reflected as much including the small stream of spit running out of his mouth. The smell of Kemba's breakfast, the pancakes from earlier, slowly filled the room and stirred him from sleep. He slowly blinked and examined the room. "Wh-What is that smell?" He questioned stretching his body, he had stretched to much and cringed, bringing his arms to his chest. "Ow..." He said looking at Theos afterwards and smiled, "Good morning. I slept well did you?" Kemba asked. As Theos approached to place down the breakfast, he'd notice Kemba had a bit of a lewd scene this morning. "I hope you didn't go through the trouble of making that for me." Kemba said with a smile.

"Wh-What is that smell?" Theos walked over sitting the tray down on the table next to the bed. "Ow..." Theos chuckled and sat beside the bed, "Good morning. I slept well did you?"

"I did, and it looks like you did too," Theos said motioning to his lap with a chuckle.

"I hope you didn't go through the trouble of making that for me." Kemba said with a smile.


"No but Kim's mom is an excellent cook," Theos said smiling. "After you finish eating I'll probably go get an early start." Kim had mentioned Kilgath so he wanted to pull her to the side and ask her how she got close enough  to speak with him. Maybe....just maybe he didn't need to go into the ring after all.

Kemba slightly turned red as he crossed his legs, "I may have dreamed about you upon waking up a bit, ha ha." Kemba said and began to eat, he made a small squeak noise as he tasted his breakfast. "This is so good..." He said making a cute face.
"After you finish eating I'll probably go get an early start." Kemba looked to Theos, "You don't have to wait for me to finish eating, you've done enough this morning for me." Kemba said smiling at Theos. "I'm sure you want to get back out there as quickly as you can. I won't stand in the way of that....in a manner of speaking." Kemba said giving a small chuckle before taking another bite. "I can't wait to hear how you've done later." He added.

"I may have dreamed about you upon waking up a bit, ha ha." Theos chuckled at his response, "This is so good..." Theos watched with a smile.


"You don't have to wait for me to finish eating, you've done enough this morning for me." Theos smiled. It never felt like enough really. "I'm sure you want to get back out there as quickly as you can. I won't stand in the way of that....in a manner of speaking." It was true he wanted an early start. Though he wasn't going to sacrifice their time just for him. "I can't wait to hear how you've done later."

"Well I can't wait to tell you," Theos said smiling. He stayed with Kemba just the same joking and smiling with him as he ate. Eventually though Theos said his goodbyes. Heading downstairs he checked the dining hall for Kim.

Theos would find Kim cleaning off the remaining tables as the breakfast rush had died down. Martha was preparing for lunch so she was in the kitchen cooking. Kim had just finished and sat back taking a break, she looked up to see Theos. "Oh you're back. Lunch doesn't start for a few more hours. Mom is going to make Kemba a plate when it's time." She said walking up to Theos.

"Actually I was wondering about something you said. You talked with Lord Kilgath himself. How did you earn the right to speak with him," Theos questioned.

Kim nodded at Theos's question, "I spoke to Lord Kilgath cause he gave me a job working in the pit. I served drinks there for a time." She answered, she looked at Theos questionably, "You're not thinking of going back there are you? To try and see Lord Kilgath? Kemba would be upset with you." She said worryingly.

"I told him I was working on a way to get his attention. Hopefully without stepping into the ring. Maybe getting a job there will be just what i need to work my way closer to him. Don't worry Kim. I'm not going to step into the ring without a lot of training. Even then only if I absolutely have to," Theos replied giving a reassuring smile.

Kim nodded, "Okay, I can't help you once you go for obvious reasons. I'll be praying for your success." Kim said, "Lord Kilgath is not a cruel man despite his taste in entertainment. He doesn't condone killing in his arena. He treated me with kindness even though I am little. He even promised to hide my job from my parents. Please don't be angry with him." Kim asked. "He's sure to talk to you once you get a job there. You'll need Blake to get hired though." Kim said.
