Kester's teeth vibrated from them clashing against each other, missing their mark of the insects leg. He would quickly right himself and fire a holy beam, the sound of electricity crackling in his ear. Once the attacks collided, the burst of wind blew past the young Salamon. His paws were forced off the ground, making Kester tumble backward from the blast. There was a light ringing in his ear but the Salamon forced himself up.
A quick check on his surroundings made him notice how bad Ace was doing. A low growl escaped him and, as the funbeemon started to shoot their stingers, Kester raced forward, sidestepping the multiple stingers along the way. His collar swirled around him, shooting out a beam as the funbeemon came in to impale him. If the holy beam hit, he would move to jump upon the Tentomon attacking Ace, aiming to body slam him and knock him over. If the funbeemon dodged his beam and continued on with their attack, Kester would attempt to jump completely over her, stepping on her head and continuing his attack on the Tentomon attacking Ace.
If his plan was a success, Kester would turn to Ace. "As much as I hate to say it, lets get out here!" He would immediately attempt to run off, weaving around the gliwing pool and dodging any attacks. His collar would continously swirl and glow, firing off energy blasts if the tentomon or funbeemon tried to shoot them with electricity or stingers.

The funbeemon had no chance to dodge as she was too close. With a oomph she fell back as the round orb of light slammed into her stomach. She landed with a hefty thud her carapace cracked and her one wing bending under her painfully.
The tentomon that Kester had been facing was on his back. Trying to turn himself back over his carapace opening and closing where his wings were to build momentum to roll back over. It wouldn't take him long. The other backing off as he was knocked away for the moment. It's body slowly building in electricity that sparked more with each second.
"As much as I hate to say it, lets get out here!" Ace was right with him. He ran as fast as his skinny chicken legs could carry him. He let Kester handle backing up their retreat since there was little he could do without stopping.
The tentomon Ace had been facing was after them first and foremost. Constantly shooting balls of electricity. The funbeemon was next up her antenna swerving to help her local her allies. She began moving in a figure eight pattern and soon the forest was alive with buzzing wings. Hundreds of other funbeemon heeding her call. They were surrounded and just by looking up they could see dozens keeping in time with their pace. Stingers aimed to kill.
"We need to hide," Ace said but there was no place for them to hide. Even if they dodged in someplace they would see them and even follow them.
Suddenly a long beam of energy went flying above their heads. The screams of the bugs echoing out as nearly a forth of them were destroyed instantly by the surprise attack. The rest halted their pursuit at a digimon came out from his perch among the tree roots.
The weregarurumon's eyes shimmered slightly as she growled her anger palpable. The rookie digimon hesitated a moment more then fled. Ace had stopped in fright as well and he looked to Kester hoping he knew this fierce digimon. After they fled the weregarurumon's growl faded and she looked to the pair eyeing them without speaking.

Kester was glad his entire plan went without a hitch, immdiately kicking up dust as he raced away with Ace right behind him. With Ace not so good on the projectile side, Kester made sure to keep his collar firing off holy shots, counteracting the electricity that the tentomon fired off.
However, as they bolted out of the clearing of the pools and into the forest, Kester's ears picked up the loud buzzing of multiple insects coming after them. He could feel his heart beat hard against his chest, fear edging into his mind. He knew all to well they were on bad standing and Kester's vision filled with black and yellow as the bees surrounded and aimed their stingers at the running pair.
Kester shook his head, never stopping in his pace as Ace suggested hiding. "Theres no way we'd be able to get away!" Yet there was no way theyd be able to escape... Kester's mind whirled with thoughts of how to get them out of their situation, throwing away plan after plan as they would all end in death.
He was about to give up until a bright light stained his vision. The salamon was forced to slide to a stop as the attack was released above the two rookies' heads. He turned his head to where the beam was aimed, seeing it disintergrate the bugs within seconds. Wind from the differing pressure blew past the two as Kester felt a large presence behind him. He looked behind him to notice the weregarurumon standing above them, his fur standing on end as her gaze moved to them once the bugs had run.
Kester glanced to Ace, seeing him frozen and the small dog moved to stand up. He looked up at the Perfect stage, an audible gulp coming through his throat. "Th-Thank you... Not going to eat us right? Most Beasts need to stick together with those bastard insects killing all of us...right?" He gave a small smile, trying not to have his body shake when talking to the much larger digimon.

"I wasn't planning on it. Rookies are too scrawny for me," she responded. Her voice sweet sounding despite her words. She jumped down off the root her massive paws indenting the forest ground.
"More like their insistent buzzing was irritating and disturbing my rest. I was up all night hunting and now this. I'm just tired," she said with a grunt and rubbing her head.
"What are you two rascals doing anyway. Dangerous times mean death. I wouldn't have intervened at all if they hadn't woken me up. Damn bugs," She said the last part said with a tsk.
So Kester didn't know her. That worried Ace she didn't seem particularly fond of them for leading the bugs here and disturbing her. Ace took a few steps back to stand behind Kester. His sword shaking a bit.

Kester let out an audible sigh, muscles relaxing as she stated that they werent going to be her next meal. "Good to know." He gave a small laugh. His collar slowly came to a halt, jingling as it fell onto his shoulders. The Salamon's breathing was a bit uneasy, having used quite a bit of energy with how many holy projectiles he shot in such a short time. Kester jumped a bit as she landed near them, the ground rumbling under his paws.
Kester made a nervous chuckle at her next words. The Plotmon settled down where he stood. He wanted to stay close to the weregarurumon, if only for a few minutes. Any insects wouldnt dare come pick a fight with a digimon like her. "I was retreiving my..." He paused as he looked to Ace, giving the smallest of smiles. "My friend here from the clutches of those bugs. Hes not from around here, and can get lost easily." He laughed a bit before continuing.
"Sorry for bothering you in your sleep but have you not heard? The insects are out to drive out or kill all the beasts in the forest. My father and the others are trying to formulate a plan against them. Im surprised youre not involved..." His words were kept respectful, a rare sight with the young Plotmon. He knew all to well he didnt want to piss off such a large and powerful adversary.

"Oh I know I just don't care. Group hunting isn't my thing. They come at me I'll just kill the buggy bastards," She responded with a shrug. "A lot of beasts are like that. At least an uprising like this will quell those over confident weaklings. I assume you two are apart of those defenders or whatever their called."
"You two best get back to 'em. I am sure word of this is gonna spread before long. So make yourselves scarce," she said starting to walk away. "Names Annie by the way. Next time we meet make sure you got more meat on your bones for me to munch on." She gave a faint wave and disappeared into the forest.
"I can't get a read on her. Is she friendly or not," Ace said lowering his blade. He still shook a bit from the adrenaline but was calming.

Kester nodded to her words, a small chuckle coming from him as he mentioned that she'd kill any and all bugs that bothered her. "You could say that. I simply dont think they have the right to steal our home, the bastards. They may outnumber us but Im ready to show them up... when I have some more help behind me."
The Salamon nodded to her next answer. He would have offered her to join and help them out, but knew she wouldnt want to come either way. Once she introduced her name, Kester smiled at her and waved a paw to her wave. "Names Kester and this is Ace! Believe me, next time youll see us, we might be big enough to beat you if you try to eat us!" He gave a smirk to her back, looking to Ace as he voiced his opiniom of her.
Kester gave a small shrug, his smile not leaving his muzzle. "I like her. She might be a good ally later on if we can convince her." His tail wagged behind him, rustling the leaves on the forest floor. "Come on, we should get back to where the meeting is. Theres a certain Bearmon I need to make sure is there." He stood and started in the dirrection of the camp, tail continuing its movement behind him.

"Sure thing weirdo. I'm guessing she's your type," Ace said snickering and pointing to his overly happy tail. "Oh, King of the tail wags," he teased then started running. "Come on lover boy let's get out of here."
Surprisingly the route back was uneventful. No signs of the bugs or of Melissa. Whom had already made her way back to the camp and waited for them nervously. She had managed to catch a bunch of those bugs in their own traps they had been setting up around the forest. The rest she was able to shake off and rest a moment before finding her way back.
