Just as Costt left for his mission a new entity appeared to GranDracmon but in a violent burst of black flame filling the very room. It gathered together to form a towering ethereal Anubismon, "GRANDRACMON!" He yelled with his thundering voice; shaking the room. "How DARE you interfere in my affairs! More importantly, how DARE you interfere with the living world! What scheme have you planned!? Do you intend to invoke my wrath, vampire!? I do not care of your lordship within the dark area, if you break the laws of the spirit world I will see to it youare imprisoned in your own domain!" He bellowed pointing his finger at the miniscule demon seating in his throne. "What say you demon lord? Have you betrayed the will of our goddess!? Speak carefully!" He said flaring up his body. He was prepared to attempt to seal GranDracmon using his pyramid power.

GranDracmon was a bit surprised, but unfazed by the sudden appearance of Anubismon. Nor was he intimidated by the God of the Dead's words. He knew that the size Anubismon took in this form was a mere power play. A scare tactic. It mattered not to GranDracmon. This was his domain, and nothing here could harm him, no matter how powerful it believed itself to be. He shook his head and gave a chuckle. "Anubismon. Long time, no see. How's life treating you these days? Or should I say death? Either way, it's no business of yours what I do in my own realm. Like it or not, we both rule over the darkness and the spirit world. The defeated spirits in your trials have no further purpose, so I merely borrowed them for study. You are correct in that regard, that it was I who created the other Hybrid of Fire that interrupted your trial. I used my own power to do so. However, what he does with his new life is his business. He felt a little lonely in here, so I allowed him access to collect the Ice Spirit, which is undoubtably why you are here. However, I myself failed to do anything with the spirit. It was too badly damaged by Costt's unauthorized antics. So you see, it is not I you should be worried about. I have no quarrel with you or the living. When next Costt returns home, I shall order him to cease with his behavior or be destroyed and returned to your original Hybrid. Scott, I believe his name is? Curious how the spirits are returning after all this time," GranDracmon let out another chuckle and looked up at the deity before him. "Now, if you don't mind, I'll kindly ask you to excuse yourself from my chambers. I don't much care for uninvited guests. Good day, sir." GranDracmon stared up into Anubismon's fiery eyes, waiting for him to respond. He could see that Anubismon was preparing to attack, and was prepared to react if needed.

Anubismon became visibly more upset when GranDracmon spoke, "You interfere with my affairs and you expect me to do nothing!? You have involved yourself in my trial, I should smite you were you sit vampire." Anubismon's flame body returned to normal size and the black fire burned away and Anubismon's physical appearance appeared before GranDracmon. "I do not have to tell you how dangerous it is for the balance of both worlds to have two hybrids exist! Our goddess destroyed the second set for the good of everything, yourself included." Anubismon hands began to give off a purple light. "You have no business resurrecting the second spirits! Furthermore, you have substituted darkness for light during the spell. That warps the hybrids true form into something else. This is a direct misuse of your powers." Anubismon pointed at GranDracmon, "When Costt gets back from whatever it is you have him doing, you will return him and the spirit of fire to me. I shall undo your idiocy. I will also take back that piece of the ice spirit you had him steal. It may be dead but it has enough residual energy even for you to resurrect. Do you think me some fool? I know just how powerful you are. Even Lord Bagramon respect your authority here. Lest you forget, without me you'd have no kingdom vampire!" Anubismon narrowed his eyes at GranDracmon.
"That is your single option. I will take my leave only when those deeds are met. Not a moment sooner!"

GranDracmon narrowed his eyes when Anubismon continued to threaten him, and could see the extent of his anger when he materialized his physical form in the Throne Room instead of remaining as a conjured entity.
"Mind your tongue, Gatekeeper," GranDracmon hissed. "You may pass judgement on the lives lost in the digital world and send them to me, but my power here is far beyond yours. What I do with discarded spirits is my business and no concern of yours. You may be unhappy with my actions, but you'd do well to remember that you are in no position to pass judgement on me. In addition to my powers surpassing yours, just imagine how much hell your precious goddess would reign down upon you for striking me. And now that you are here in your true physical form, you are revealing to me just how desperate you are in your attempts to intimidate me. Give it a rest. I do not fear you or any other creature in all the worlds. As for Costt, I did not send him away, nor do I know when or if he will return. His life is his to do with as he please. It is not my concern. Darkness may have replaced light in his birth, but he is just as alive as you or me. To end his life would be a crime in and of itself. You know that as well as anyone in our position. And I will not return the shard of ice that Costt took. This is because I do not have it. When Costt departed, he took it with him as a souvenir since it holds no power of use. Now you are up to speed. So I will ask nicely once more. Leave my domain peacefully. I just redecorated and I'd hate to have to do it again."
GranDracmon remained very calm during his speech to Anubismon. He did not even bother to leave his throne, and was clearly annoyed that Anubismon would not leave.

Anubismon's power exploded out from within him. His eyes began to glow yellow and a purple aura was being emitted from around his body and Anubismon's clothes and hair waved violently in response. The castle began to shake violently but yet, did not disturb GranDracmon's throne or the digimon himself. The stone underneath Anubismon cracked under his raw power. The demon digimon in the throne room standing idly; waiting on the master's beckon call, could no longer do that. They were pinned to the walls and those standing too close to Anubsimon disintegrated. Anubismon bore his teeth and then began speaking, "YOU TOY WITH SOULS OF THE LIVING AND CORRUPT THEM! HOW DARE YOU MOCK ME DEMON LORD! YOUR INSOLENCE WILL NOT GO UNPUNISHED!" Anubismon roared. "I AM NOT SO WEAK THAT I NEED FEAR YOU VAMPIRE! I WILL DEAL WITH THE CONSEQUENCES OF YGGDRASIL AFTER I SEAL YOU IN THE DEEPEST PIT OF THE DARK AREA!" Anubismon raised his hands to begin his assault when suddenly a woman's voice rang through the castle.
"Wait a moment...." It said. Anubismon powered down when he heard the voice. "That voice is...?" Just then another powerful being entered GranDracmon's throne room. "Sanzomon!" Anubismon said with surprise, "What are you doing here?" Anubismon asked. "As acting goddess while Yggdrasil slumbers, I am preventing you two from engaging in a pointless battle." She said as she gracefully walked towards Anubismon. The light she was emitting filled every corner of the thrown room causing the demons to flee into separate rooms. "Anubismon, Gatekeeper of Death. Being who dwells in twilight. Why do you seek to break our sacred rules?" She asked. Anubismon looked shocked and then knelt down in front of Sanzomon, "I was merely trying to right a wrong. GranDracmon is interfering with my trials, which indirectly interferes with the living world." Anubismon responded. "That is not your duty angel of death. Your job is to pass judgement on the dead and assist in the trial of elements to ensure the safe return of the Hybrids. Attacking GranDracmon despite your justifiable reasons is grounds for punishment of the highest accord." She said. Anubismon closed his eyes and accepted Sanzomon's words "Yes. Of course. However, he has interfered with the trials and is resurrecting the second hybrid spirits that Yggdrasil herself destroyed. Allowing him to do this will throw the world into chaos." Sanzomon gently grabbed Anubismon's shoulder "You're loyalty to Yggdrasil is commendable but you must not forget your purpose." She said then looked to GranDracmon briefly before looking back to Anubismon.
"GranDracmon is the only being that can keep the dead from returning to the world of the living. If you two were to do battle here, the realm would be so badly damaged that there would be an epidemic far worse than anything the world could know." Anubismon had finally calmed down and rose to his feet. "Then what would you have me do? Allow him to continue to interrupt my trial?" Sanzomon thought a moment before answering, "Did he interrupt the rebirth of the spirits in any way?" Sanzomon asked. "No, the spirit of fire and ice are both safe and sound. He did however take pieces of the souls of each in an attempt to resurrect the second spirits." Anubismon said, Sanzomon shook her head "The trial had finished by the time GranDracmon did anything. He did not break any rules. Once the trial was over the spirit that was defeated was kidnapped. It is the holder of the spirit's fault that he could not absorb him completely. I am not commending GranDracmon for his actions but he has not broken any of the rules." Anubismon was in utter shock and seemed defeated.
"What of the second spirits!?" Anubismon asked. "Yggdrasil never placed any rules preventing their revival. She simply stated their existence would place the world out of balance. My hands and yours are tied in this matter I'm afraid." Sanzomon said. Anubismon clenched his hand tight, "Tsk. GranDracmon, you will live to regret your decision this day. I may not be able to do anything but your existence will become known in time to W.A.D.A. and they will come for your head. When that day comes, and it will, I'm going to banish your soul into the deepest reaches of the dark area never to be seen again!" Without another word Anubismon was engulfed in black flame and left from wince he came. Sanzomon turned to GranDracmon and stared at him. "Is there anything you wish to say?" She asked.

GranDracmon was less than happy that Anubismon vaporized several of his minions, but was fully prepared to counter Anubismon's assault and defend his domain, smiting the canine god if needed. "YOU TOY WITH SOULS OF THE LIVING AND CORRUPT THEM! HOW DARE YOU MOCK ME DEMON LORD! YOUR INSOLENCE WILL NOT GO UNPUNISHED!" Anubismon roared. "I AM NOT SO WEAK THAT I NEED FEAR YOU VAMPIRE! I WILL DEAL WITH THE CONSEQUENCES OF YGGDRASIL AFTER I SEAL YOU IN THE DEEPEST PIT OF THE DARK AREA!" He was about to launch his signature move. However, before Anubismon could launch his attack, a woman's voice filled the room, causing him to stop in his tracks. Sanzomon appeared before them, emanating a powerful light from her body that scattered the remaining demons to the shadows for cover, and commanded Anubismon to cease.
"Sanzomon!" Anubismon said with surprise, "What are you doing here?" He stopped all attacks and bowed before the Monk Digimon's feet.
"As acting goddess while Yggdrasil slumbers, I am preventing you two from engaging in a pointless battle." Sanzomon replied. She went on to explain that GranDracmon had technically not broken any of the rules from either the spirit world or the world of the living. Turning to Anubismon, she commended him in a warning manner. "You're loyalty to Yggdrasil is commendable but you must not forget your purpose." She turned her gaze to GranDracmon for a moment before speaking again. "GranDracmon is the only being that can keep the dead from returning to the world of the living. If you two were to do battle here, the realm would be so badly damaged that there would be an epidemic far worse than anything the world could know." she went on to say. She went on to explain that since the trials of spirits had been completed, the left over spirit energy was fair game, thus GranDracmon was free to do what he will.
Anubismon did not take kindly to this information, but knew that there was nothing he could do after Sanzomon's decision. He rose to his feet and looked at GranDracmon. "Tsk. GranDracmon, you will live to regret your decision this day. I may not be able to do anything but your existence will become known in time to W.A.D.A. and they will come for your head. When that day comes, and it will, I'm going to banish your soul into the deepest reaches of the dark area never to be seen again!" With that, Anubismon engulfed himself a fury of fire and was gone.
Sanzomon then turned herself to face GranDracmon herself. "Is there anything you wish to say?" she asked calmly. GranDracmon gave a sly smile under his mask, and looked back at the regal monk before him. "I have nothing left to say, Your Highness. You seemed to have won my argument for me. I thank you for your services. Now, if you hadn't noticed, Anubismon vaporized several of my loyal servants. If you don't mind, I must find out where there ended up, seeing as how the only place they could have gone is, well, here. As long as your business here is done, I'd like you to vacate my chambers so I can be about my day. Thank you, Sanzomon." GranDracmon looked at the monk, nodded and then stared off into the distance, waiting for her to leave.

Sanzomon just stared at GranDracmon then a deep voice a man bellowed out from within her, "That's pretty rude vampire I come and go as I please. Considering I had to prevent Anubismon from doing something that would have caused us problems even for you." Sanzomon's eyes rolled to the back of her skull and collapsed to the floor and out from the darkness stood Bagramon. "Surprised?" He said as a pure white soul floated in his hand. "I took Sanzomon as a trophy long ago when Yggdrasil fell to sleep." Bagramon said. "Controlling the heavens is a simple task when their acting 'goddess' is my puppet." Bagramon waved his arm and Sanzomon's body disappeared in a portal of darkness. "You need to keep your toys in line. We wouldn't want to prematurely reveal ourselves to the humans." Bagramon looked at GranDracmon and smiled, he lifted his bone arm and dark souls were inside. "Here are your minions."

GranDracmon was quite surprised to suddenly hear Sanzomon speaking in a man's voice, and more so when her body fell to the floor, but the appearance of Bagramon made it all make sense quickly. GranDracmon chuckled as he replied to the Dark General. "Well, well, Bagramon. It appears you have gotten your wish after all these centuries of waiting. The Digital World is all but yours to control. Congratulations, old friend." GranDracmon noticed that Bagramon now possessed the souls of his recently smited minions in his skeletal arm. "Thank you for nabbing them, Bagramon. Now release them back into my custody, if you'd be so kind," GranDracmon said as politely as he could. "Now, as for my so-called toys, Costt is, as his element would suggest, a bit of a hot-head. He is merely the prototype in my grand scheme. I have a new one on the way. As for his revealing himself to the humans, I believe it's a bit too late for that. During his latest question to....recruit my newest asset, he was a bit less than subtle. I am not concerned by it, however. I have plans to make sure his true purpose and identity remain secret. There is nothing to be concerned about. Thank you." GranDracmon gave a nod to Bagramon, indicating his respect and gratitude for removing Anubismon from the chambers.

Bagramon paused a moment before releasing the souls back to GranDracmon. "Hmph. It isn't the hybrids that I am concerned with being revealed it's whom they take orders from becoming known prematurely. Having the whole of the human race knocking on your door isn't something we need. As for my wish, it's temporary. I must prevent the awakening of Yggdrasil permanently if I am to obtain it for good. I am currently weeding out the unshakably loyal angels and demigods to destroy. Though I have half a mind to send the angels to you. Masquerading as Sanzomon will only get me so far, the Sovereigns are no fools...I don't know how much longer I can keep them believing the lie. My goal is to convince Zhuqiaomon of the humans folly, he attempted to eradicate them once, I believe I can convince him again. Once that happens I can easily split the heavens in two factions. Those that will join our cause in saving digimon from humans and those who still believe we can all coexist. Destroying those will be a simple task. Then the entirety of the heavens will be prepared for the eradication of the human race." Bagramon explained his part of the plan to GranDracmon and at the same time a dark portal opened behind him.
Out of this portal was Costt and behind him Amy. "Boss man. I brought the wench." Costt said pointing with his thumb at the girl behind him. He noticed Bagramon who turned slightly to look at them. He crossed his arms and assessed them silently. Costt eyed him and then looked to GranDracmon, "Who's the grandpa?" He asked. This cracked a smile on Bagramon's face, "Grandpa? I suppose in that regard I'd be your great grandfather by a few millennia." Costt scoffed at the response. "I don't take kindly to smart asses." He said clenching his fist and a small fractal code appearing. "Your ass may just wind up sizzling as a result, old man." Costt snapped. Bagramon turned his head back to the front so that he was no longer looking at the pair. "Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!" Bagramon laughed loudly. "You weren't kidding GranDracmon, he is indeed a hot-head." Bagramon said. Costt glared at Bagramon, "You bastard...I'll show you to laugh at me!" He said as he moved his hand to swipe his fractal code through his D.I.G. but suddenly froze. "Wha--?" Costt said. Bagramon had a single finger pointed in his direction with an invisible flow of energy directed at him which was more then enough to effortlessly immobilize him. "Well, it seems you have yet to know any respect for anyone besides GranDracmon. I'd blame you if I didn't expect this sort of behavior from a toy of GranDracmon. You always did like to be the center of attention." Bagramon saying that last part to GranDracmon. Costt tried to move but couldn't. He couldn't even form words with the amount of pressure on top of his shoulders.

GranDracmon listened in silence to Bagramon's explanation of the situation. He opened his palm to absorb the souls Bagramon returned to him, and sent them to various sections of the Dark Area to be reborn and resume their work. When Bagramon mentioned sending the angel Digimon to him, GranDracmon couldn't help but smile.
"There is no angel Digimon alive that can withstand my Charm. I'd take them off your hands when you aren't able to dispose of them yourself. I've heard they can be quite the hassle for demon's like you," GranDracmon was sure to phrase it that way to get under Bagramon's skin. Or, what was left of it. "I can't promise that I'd leave anything left of them for you to work with, though. I'm selfish like that," GranDracmon finished. No sooner had he stopped talking, then a dark portal opened up behind Bagramon, with his new recruits emerging from it.
"Boss man. I brought the wench." Costt said, gesturing at Amy. GranDracmon did not reply. He knew they were coming and had sensed their travel. Amy was a bit shaken from her trip through the dimensions, and when she looked up and saw the pair of giant demon digimon before her, she fell to the floor screaming, but she did not try to run. She was frozen with fear. She then watched as her "rescuer" began arguing with the monster with the half skeleton body, and she saw the same digital code appear around his hand as he got angrier. But suddenly, he stopped in his tracks. The deformed creature had pointed a single finger at him and that seemed to be oozing power enough to immobilize Costt entirely.
"Well, it seems you have yet to know any respect for anyone besides GranDracmon. I'd blame you if I didn't expect this sort of behavior from a toy of GranDracmon. You always did like to be the center of attention." the digimon paralyzing Costt said.
"Wha....what's going on?!" Amy exclaimed from her place on the ground. Her cry would go unanswered for the moment. The creature known as GranDracmon chuckled at the events unfolding before him.
"Costt, you really do need to learn some manners. You're a fool to think that you can even touch Bagramon, let alone harm him. Stand down. I'd hate to have to replace you so soon. And Bagramon, release him at once. He's not a toy. His role as my Dark Hybrid of Fire is vital to my plan. In time, he may come to help with the problem you are having with the Sovereigns. But he is no use to me dead." GranDracmon said, letting the crack about being at the center of attention slide. Regardless of how quickly Bagramon released his hold on Costt, he now turned to his newest minion. "You must be the one known as Amy Breese. Welcome to the Dark Castle. This is your new home. As you have just learned, I am GranDracmon, Ruler of the Dark Area and your new master. I was the one who sent Costt to retrieve you from that prison. As you no doubt noticed, subtlety isn't exactly his strong suit. We'll work on that later. For now, you are wondering why you are here. It's because of your younger brother, Anddrew. He was the key to your salvation. He graciously donated a piece of himself that I will know bestow upon you, although he did so unknowingly and unwillingly. No matter, though. Observe." GranDracmon held up his right hand, and a small ball of blue light appeared. It seemed to be giving off a faint cold mist.
Amy stood up immediately when Andy was mentioned, and interrupted GranDracmon. "Costt told me that Andy was alive. What did he give up to you? What does that have to do with me? When can I see him? Please. He must miss me as much as I miss him," she asked intently. She fell silent when the blue orb appeared in GranDracmon's hand. Even through the mask, the vampire Digimon looked annoyed at being interrupted, but said nothing about it.
"This is a piece of Anddrew's soul. It contains his digimon Spirit. Like Costt, Andy now has the power to transform himself into a Digimon at will. While Costt controls the spirit of Fire, Andy is the owner of the spirit of Ice. This is a gift that I believe belongs to you instead. I have taken this piece of his spirit and used my dark powers to modify it and allow you to harness it's power as well. With this, you, too, will be able to evolve into something greater than your feeble human form. You will have power beyond your wildest dreams. Are you ready to accept such power?" GranDracmon paused to allow the girl to answer. He already knew what she would say, but should she refuse, he was fully prepared to kill her and simply build a body for the spirit of Ice as he had done for Costt.
"I accept!!" Amy said without hesitation. "I'll take whatever you give me if it means reuniting with my brother. He needs me. If becoming a digimon will make that happen, I'll do it. I'm ready." Amy wasn't sure what to do now, so she just stood there, waiting for something to happen.
"Very good. Now....don't move." GranDracmon said. With that, he aimed his open hand at Amy, palm first, and the spirit orb went flying to the air, striking Amy in the chest. The pain was like nothing she'd ever felt in her life, and she fell to her knees crying as if her body was being torn apart. In seconds, the pain was gone, with no indication that it had even happened in the first place. In place of the pain, Amy felt an odd cold feeling in her very core. It wasn't a temperature difference, exactly, but she could tell something cold had become very important to her and could feel that cold's power in her veins.
"Is....is that it? I don't know what to do," Amy said, slowly rising to her feet.
"Not quite. You'll need this as well," GranDracmon snapped his fingers. A swirl of dark smoke wrapped itself around Amy's right arm. It soon vanished, and in it's place, a D.I.G. appeared. "That device is your best friend. It is invaluable to your success. It is also the key to your evolution. You should know what to do now. Give it a try."
Amy looked at the machine on her arm. It was almost the same as Costt's, just different colors. She remembered that he had fiddled with it when he changed from a digimon to a human. She felt like she knew how to do it. She raised her arm to the sky. "Spirit Evolution!!" A fractal code burst out of the palm and wrapped itself around her body. She could feel herself growing and twisting. Her clothes were changing and her body temperature plummeted. This didn't frighten her. In fact, she felt relief in it. "IceLadyDevimon!!" She cried as she emerged from the code. Her digimon body was identical to that of a LadyDevimon, but she was icy blue and white instead of black and grey. "This....this is amazing!!" Amy yelled out. She inherently knew her new powers, and was about to unleash an attack on a nearby pillar for practice, when suddenly a pain in her stomach like she had been stabbed caught her off guard and drained her off all power. She reverted to human form, and gripped at her stomach. Her clothing had changed from psych ward issue to something a bit more her speed. A white-blue stripped tank top that showed off her cleavage, tiny jacket, and blue jeans. She moved her hands away from her exposed stomach and found a pentagram had appeared around her belly button. "What is this?" she asked as the pain instantly vanished.
"That, my dear, is my insurance policy," GranDracmon said, looking at his new hybrid. "If you disobey an order from me, or do anything I don't like in general, the pain will come back. It will continue to get worse and worse until you obey. Ignore me long enough, I can use it to kill you with a thought. However, this same symbol prevents you from being killed by anyone other than myself or Andy. As you both possess the spirit of ice, only he can take your life and reclaim the spirit you have as his own. If he is as loyal to you as you claim, I doubt that will be a problem." GranDracmon did not give Amy a chance to respond as he turned his attention back to Bagramon. "There you have it, Bagramon. Two Dark Hybrids, ready for action. In time, their number will grow until I possess all 10 and command the ancient powers as my own. Susanoomon was the only being powerful enough to take down my predecessor, Lucemon. In that case, I need to possess his power as my own as a failsafe should the humans grow privy to my actions and team up against me. My Hybrids can also be used to aid your little quest should we find that our interests align. In the meantime, they are at my disposal alone and will take no orders from you. Is that understood, Sage of Death?" GranDracmon finally fell silent. Amy was too busy trying to figure out what the hell they were talking about to speak again.

Costt couldn't believe that he couldn't move because of this digimon's single concentrated aura from his finger. Costt began to sweat which was rare, given his powers. He tried to sense this digimon and then he finally understood. This digimon's power was immeasurable, just like GranDracmon. It frightened Costt when he considered this digimon's full power. He fell on all fours dripping sweat and shaking when Bagramon released him, "Fo-Forgive me...I was out of line." Costt said. Bagramon smiled when he released him and returned his attention to GranDracmon. He opted to remain silent when GranDracmon was initiating Amy into his ranks. He watched and made mental notes to himself during the ritual. He found it amusing that Amy had more lust then probably even Lilithemon and ironic that she'd evolve into an alternate variation of a younger form. Meanwhile, Costt had recovered from his shock and stood up; dusting himself off and clearing his throat, "Huh, not bad for a rookie." He commented when seeing her evolved form. "I'm still your superior wench. Don't forget it or the only thing you'll be trying to freeze is your melted puddle of a body." Costt said.
GranDracmon then went on to explain about the pentagram around Amy's stomach and Costt showed her his. "I got one too. Though unlike you, I don't have to worry about betraying GranDracmon. Don't waste his gracious gift." He said. Bagramon looked to GranDracmon when he began to speak to him. Bagramon stayed silent and let him say his piece. "As you wish....GranDracmon....is what you expect me to say?" Bagramon chuckled to himself and turned around and began walking towards the door. "You have wallowed in these halls to long vampire. You are lord of the Dark Area by design. The seven great demon lords, the strongest of any denizen in your domain dare not interfere with you. You must be strongest here in order to keep hell in order. However, I am not them. I am not a denizen of the dark area. I was at one point, closest to God itself. Higher than even Lucemon, of whom I convinced to turn the heavens on it's ear. Unlike him, I was not sent here when I fell. I was the first to be able to manipulate souls. Your pentagram is such a simple spell and breaking it would be as simple as a snap of the finger, if I wanted to take either of them. If I decided to acquire a few of my own what would you do? What could you do?" Bagramon waved his hand which would cause Costt and Amy both to freeze in their footsteps.
Costt began to sweat, inside he could feel the Spirit of Fire beginning to move towards the front of his chest. The pentagram on his stomach began to glow a bright red and became real hot that smoke was rising from it. Unbearable pain overcame him and he fell to his back. His mouth was open and eyes wide a river of drool ran down the side of his mouth as his body jerked up and twitched, he could not bring himself to even hold his chest. The Spirit of Fire's red glow could be seen through his chest like it were to burst forth at any moment. Bagramon had the two stay in this state to make a point, "You are not the only one with the means of acquiring new.....or....old Hybrids." Bagramon kept his eyes on GranDracmon while the hybrids suffered. "It isn't Susanoomon that you should fear. I recognize your power and choose to see you as an equal. Do not give me a reason to think otherwise, you wag your tongue as if you are untouchable." Bagramon would take moment to look at the hybrids. Costt could not even make a sound despite the pain he was in. He wanted so very badly to beg either death or the end of this pain.
"Your hybrids are ancient tools. Outdated and of no use to me." Bagramon said lowering his hand allowing Costt and Amy some reprieve. Costt laid flat a single eye closed as he stared up at the ceiling. He was gasping for air and laid a hand over his pentagram. "We both want the same thing in the salvation of the Digital World. At one time we would have been enemies because I believed in humans...that time has faded. I believe your method combined with my own will free the world from humans. So our interests already align, so belittling what I am doing above angers me and because you have angered me I shall be taking the next hybrid as my own. If you interfere my next visit will not be so friendly. Now do YOU understand, Vampire?" Bagramon said. It was clear that GranDracmon's method of speaking to Bagramon did not sit well with him.

Amy rolled her eyes as Costt reminded her of his authority over her, as she didn't much care for status. All she cared about was that she now had enough power to win Andy back into her life and keep him there. She listened as GranDracmon and Bagramon spoke to each other, after Bagramon demonstrated his power over Costt with a mere point of his finger. No sooner had Amy processed that than Bagramon raised a hand in response to something GranDracmon said. Suddenly, she became unable to move at all. Her breathing became extremely shallow and her entire body felt like it was being ripped apart. She managed to look down and saw the familiar blue light of her new spirit glowing in her chest, and it felt and looked like it was trying to escape her body. The pain was even worse than what GranDracmon had demonstrated moments ago with the new pentagram on her stomach. She wished with all her heart now that she had stayed behind and burned in that hospital with everyone else.
"Your hybrids are ancient tools. Outdated and of no use to me." Bagramon said, lowering his hand and allowing Amy and Costt freedom. Amy fell to her knees and hands, weeping silently. What the hell had she gotten into? As she caught her breath, she looked up at Bagramon and her new master, GranDracmon, who had begun to speak.
"I understand your power, Bagramon. I am not questioning it. However, I have tried alliances in the past and they never end well. My so-called partners always would try to undermine or betray me in the end. I was merely attempting to preempt that in this instance. I have no issues or quarrel with you. Having said that, I do have to voice my protest on your declaration of taking the next spirit from me. Other threats from a reborn Susanoomon aside, collecting all ten spirits is essential to my plan. I cannot afford to lose even one." he said politely. Amy wasn't quite sure what was going on during all this. She didn't understand GranDracmon's plan, and had no idea who this Susanoomon character was. From the sound of it, he was another Digimon that was not to be taken lightly if GranDracmon so obviously feared him. "Therefore," GranDracmon continued, "I propose a compromise. Allow the next hybrid to appear before me. I shall create the host and give it the power of whatever spirit appears next, just as I have done for these two," he said, gesturing at Costt and Amy. "From there, I shall allow the hybrid the freedom to go with you, but I reserve the right and ability to summon him before me whenever I see fit and require. In that case, we both win. You get your hybrid, and I get to keep my plan in motion. Do we have an understanding?" GranDracmon asked. Amy was very surprised by the behavior of this creature. Despite his "guest" almost killing his minions with no effort at all, GranDracmon still spoke to Bagramon with the utmost respect and in such a gentlemanly manner. Whatever arrangement they ended up reaching, Amy just wanted to get out into the world and find her long lost brother again. She was anxious to get started.

Costt laid on the floor still recovering from the instance before. He looked at GranDracmon who was trying to negotiate with Bagramon after GranDracmon unintentionally angered the Bagramon. He lifted his head to then look at Bagramon whose face was stale. Bagramon closed his eyes and smiled chuckling to himself once more. "Begging me to leave your precious hybrids alone is unbecoming of you GranDracmon. As I said before, our interests align, what should it matter if I take the next hybrid? You trying to change my mind worries me old boy. I'd have been more then happy to lend the darkness hybrid to you when ever you should need it. It seems still even now you cannot trust me. That in turn makes me feel as if I cannot trust you. No. Gran Dracmon, this is not a negotiation. I'm taking the hybrid of darkness. It shall serve me and only me. However, you have my word that I will not touch the remaining ones. If you ever should need my darkness hybrid, then you will ask me. Should I deem your request appropriate, he will help you. That is the 'deal' you're getting. Now with one with me and the rest with you, we each hold a piece of your plan no? Now we'll be bound to trust and work with each other. Now if you'll excuse me Lord Vampire, the current trial is waiting for my involvement. Have a good day." Bagramon said walking through a portal which he conjured.
Costt sat up and took a deep sigh of relief with Bagramon gone. He turned to look at his master. "What should we do Gran Dracmon? Bagramon is going to ruin everything." Costt asked.

GranDracmon was silent for a few moments after the departure of Bagramon and he did not respond right away to Costt's question. He seemed to be contemplating the situation. Finally, he looked down and addressed his hybrids.
"At ease, Costt. Bagramon seems to have no desire to ruin my master plan. His insistence on possessing the spirit of darkness does intrigue me, however. What purpose could he serve that Bagramon is incapable of achieving on his own? In any case, he did say that he will grant me access to that spirit when and if I require it. As it so happens, possessing the spirit at this time is ultimately pointless to without the other nine in my grasp. We shall wait this out." GranDracmon said, folding his hands together, then fell silent again.
Amy decided that now was as good a time as any to ask about her place here, and cleared her throat. "Master GranDracmon, sir, what exactly is your master plan? And how do myself and Andy fit in? What I mean to say is, as grateful as I am to be free from my prison, why did you send Costt to rescue me? Why give me this power? I'm no one," she said, trying to stay as respectful as possible. She had seen a glimpse of this being's power and did not want to anger him. GranDracmon simply looked down at her, and even through his mask, he gave the impression that he was smiling.
"Don't worry about the details just yet, my dear. For now, let's just say that I grow tired of lurking in the shadows and solitude of the Dark Area, and long to be free and back in the light of the Digital World. You and Costt are to be my keys to reaching that end. I will give you more information as you require it. Speaking of more information, I think it's time to see what Bagramon is up to." With that, GranDracmon waved his hand and a dark portal of his own appeared in the air before him, hovering at eye level. The portal was large enough that the hybrids on the ground could clearly see into it at what was happening on the other side. "With this, we can peer into the realm in which the Spirit Trial takes place for the new Darkness hybrid. By observing only, that fool Anubismon won't even know I'm there. Not that I care if he knew," GranDracmon explained as the swirls of shadows in the portal arranged themselves into a coherent image.
In the Spirit Realm, the group could see the new W.A.D.A. Agent Vent Saitou being completely thrashed by his spirit counterpart. However, it was immediately obvious that something was wrong. The spirit was far too strong. "What's this?" GranDracmon said aloud to himself. There was something familiar about the power signature coming from the spirit. As if on cue, Bagramon appeared in view and ripped the spirit of darkness apart, splitting it into two entities: an exact copy of Vent, which called itself Vinous Etta, and an old familiar face that had been hiding inside the spirit, using it as a host. "Wyzel!!!" GranDracmon exclaimed, and watched as Wyzel laid out his plan to overthrow him. "That slippery little....how dare he try to dethrone me! I'll show him who he's messing with!" The portal visibly wavered and shimmered as GranDracmon began to reach his hand through it and grab hold of Wyzel, but something changed that caught his attention, and he stopped. Two new spirits had entered the area and they gave off extreme power. A human man and a Phantomon, and by Wyzel’s reaction, they knew each other to some extent and did not get along. Wyzel attacked, and this human was able to match him move for move. While the man served as a distraction, Vent and the true spirit of darkness merged into one, and evolved into Devimon, launching his own attack.
“Interesting….” GranDracmon mused. “Come, hybrids. Let us see how this plays out. I have never known a human to be this powerful, especially on the brink of death he must be in to even exist in that realm. If need be, Amy, I shall send you through this portal to assist Bagramon in obtaining that spirit attacking the human. The spirit shall be his, the demon shall be mine. He has to answer for what he’s done.”
“Yes, Master,” Amy said, not really sure what was going on, but she was anxious nonetheless to explore her new powers. GranDracmon would fall silent and watch unless Costt spoke up.

Costt dusted himself off as Gran Dracmon eased his concerns, "Well, as long as you're not troubled then there is no reason for me to be." Costt went back to being his old persona. Amy had inquired about her role and her brothers within the organization, Costt scoffed. "Just learn to follow our orders and everything will fall into place. Don't fret the big stuff that doesn't concern you woman." Costt said after GranDracmon's reply. GranDracmon then went on to peer into the trial of darkness currently ongoing. Costt did enjoy these tests. He liked even better when he was ordered to interfere. It bothered him that this time however he'd have to settle on being a spectator. Costt was shocked by the unnatural appearance of this spirit and it was giving off a power even higher then Costts. "That's the spirit of darkness? What kind of spirit is that? How could it possibly be that strong!?" Costt said allowed. Just then, Bagramon had revealed himself and tore the spirit into two halves, catching Costt by surprise but no more then Gran Dracmon. "Who is Wyzel?" Costt asked but received no reply, though has time progressed the answer revealed itself. Wyzel had wanted to take the Dark Area for his own. Upon hearing his plan Costt nearly burst into laughter, "Surely he jests! Yes, I'll admit his power outclasses my own but not by that much! How could he even think that level is strong enough to threaten you? It's idiocy even worse then Scotts!" Costt was looking forward to Gran Dracmon pulling Wyzel from the trial but noticed his master pull back.
This caused Costt to look again at the trial as two new combatants and appeared. "Who are those two?" Costt wondered, he remained silent until the end of the trial. He made mental notes about the human called Ichi and his ability to fight against Wyzel. This made Costt uneasy that W.A.D.A. had someone so formidable in their ranks. He'd do well to avoid confrontations with him in the future. Costt had watched Bagramon strip the defeated Wyzel of the remnants of the hybrids power and it reverted the once intimidating demon to a measly soul form. One not unlike Dragomon; guardian of the Dark Ocean's slaves. Then when Bagramon was finished a portal had directly opened up to Gran Dracmon's throne room. Costt smiled when a screaming Wyzel fell into the room on his back in front of GranDracmon, Amy and Costt. Wyzel was shaking when he realized where he was and Costt was smiling and cracking his knuckles. "L-Lord..Gran Dracmon.....Great Darkness...p-please....I beg of you....have mercy on this foolish servant!" Wyzel said begging on his knees. "Lord GranDracmon...with your permission...I'd like to incinerate this treasonous garbage." Costt said shivering with anticipation. "I didn't mean what I said!!! I-I was going to present to you my power as a gift! I swear on my soul!" Wyzel said. "Oh please spare us the speech! No one believes that tongue of yours! So, boss can I fry him!?" Costt asked.
