Caleb and Gordon entered their private room. The room had a huge vaulted ceiling, easily capable of fitting Caleb in his Ultimate form with room to spare. The area was segmented, with clear divisions of the ornate bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, well-stocked work space, and roomy living areas. There was a small singular transport panel in the back corner of the living space. This panel could be used by Gordon as a shortcut to the digital world or anywhere else he needs to go.
Caleb landed on the kitchen counter. "Are you alright, Gordon? We've known for years that he's been here and helped to build W.A.D.A. into what it is today. I haven't seen you react like that to something in a long time. What changed?" he asked his shaken partner.
"Yes, Caleb. I've always known that son of a bitch is here. But I've never had any of my Guild Members interact with him directly! Who knows what chaos he planted in that poor boys mind? Now I have to monitor young Moto in his endeavors and make sure he doesn't turn into a monster, too. Quite literally!!" Gordon yelled the last two words and slammed his fist into the kitchen countertop, startling Caleb. Flashbacks to the horrible beast that tore through his men and digimon allies like they were made of paper, leaving nothing but bodies and blood in his wake. The agony of losing his entire unit in one fell swoop was only intensified by being the sole survivor with his partner Caleb, and being kept in squalor for ten morbid years. Not to mention learning that the man responsible for the slaughter was now a founding member of the organization that Gordon swore allegiance to. He had bit his tongue all these years for the sake of Ino. Gordon knew that she wouldn't take kindly to one of her Guild Masters killing her top researcher. He had made it a personal goal to remain as far from Dr. Ichi as long as possible, and had thus far succeeded, not once seeing the man or even requiring his services. But now that streak seems to have indirectly ended.
"I swear, Caleb. If that monster corrupts my guild from within......" Gordon placed his hand on his swords hilt, as if to draw it, but he did not do so, "I know exactly what I'll do to him.....after all this time. He deserves to....." Wisps of dark smoke emerged from Gordon's sword, but he didn't notice them.
"GORDON!!" Caleb shouted, seeing the smoke. "You need to calm down. Right now, all that's happened is he took over healing a digimon and introduced himself to Agent Moto. There's nothing we can do about that. You have to let it go for now. If it makes you feel better, I'll give Ino a call and inform her of the situation. But don't go doing anything stupid now. Especially without me there to protect you."
"You're right, Caleb. I'm sorry." Gordon released his sword and the smoke vanished. "Thank you, my friend. There is no need to bother Ino with this right now. We'll have to monitor the situation closely and see what happens. For now, it's time to rest. Let's go." Gordon motioned towards the bedroom and Caleb followed. The two would settle in for a long nap.
