(Continued from Search Anew)
"......ot......" A faded voice said, "Hm? Is someone....speaking...?" Sol thought. ".....Mistress......et!!" It sounded again, "It's.....screaming...." Sol tried to open his eyes as he came too. His vision needed time to adjust so for now all he could see were silhouettes. Sol winced when he tried to move his leg, "Ow...it's still injured..." The voice that was once faded could be heard now with clarity. Sol's vision had cleared up and saw a Betsumon screaming at one of his assailants. He assumed to be the leader. "THERE WAS A MILLION OTHER WAYS TO CATCH HIM!!!! I STILL CANNOT BELIEVE YOU IDIOTS CHOSE TO USE A BEAR TRAP!!!" He yelled. "A NET!!! A PITFALL!!!! A NOOSE AROUND HIS FOOT!!!! HELL, TACKLE HIM!!!!" Betsumon screamed. Sol's mouth, hands and legs were still bound so all he could do was watch. "Forgive us! We will do better next time! We promise!!" The man said, Betsumon turned around and walked towards another of the men. "Yes, you will because you won't be leader!" Betsumon reached for the man's sheathed sword in front of him drawing and within the same motion effectively removed the head of the leader. Sol's eyes widened when he witnessed it. "I cannot have such a person as a squad leader! You there!" Betsumon said pointing at another person. "Congratulations. You've been promoted. Now get to work!" He ordered, the men in unison all said "Yes sir!" And dispersed. Betsumon gave the sword back to it's owner and spoke to him, "See if you can salvage the leg, if nothing can be done. Remove it. It won't be worth as much but if we let it get infected and it dies Lady Jesibel will have all our heads." The man acknowledged his instructions and moved towards Sol.
Sol's ears dropped back and his eyes widened when he heard Betsumon's orders. He looked on in fear and he began to shake. Betsumon noticed Sol had woke up and approached him with a smile, "Don't worry. We will do everything we can to save your leg. If we do have to maim it, I'm sure Lady Jesibel won't think any differently of you. You're such a beautiful specimen. I haven't seen a Guilmon on this continent. I wonder where you wondered in from. Your clan must miss you...or maybe you were banished? Either way it doesn't matter." Betsumon began stroking Sol's head. "Even one leg short...you'll be worth hundreds of thousands of units." Betsumon walked to Sol's side and ran his claws down Sol's back. He plucked a scale which caused Sol to wince. "Did you know that for traffickers like us, dragons are extremely rare? Not many of them join civilization. Creatures of solitude. Just one perfect scale of a dragon is worth ten thousand units on the black market. So, I'll be taking this scale. Consider it as payment for your medical expenses ha ha ha ha!" Betsumon walked back towards the front of Sol where he could be seen.
Sol then felt a sharp sting and he closed his eyes and jerked his head up but his neck was chained to the table in which he laid. He could feel the man made to treat him begin his work. "A dragon's tail is worth about one hundred thousand units. I wish it was your tail that got caught instead of your leg. I know the value of that. I don't know the value of a leg and I'd rather not take the risk. Oh! I bet you're wondering how we'd even sell a severed body part. Great question! Given what we are...any severed body part tends to return to it's base data within seconds of it being torn from us. Well, there is a special liquid that we've been acquiring of late...it has a special code that effectively freezes decomposition. Like pausing your favorite TV show. We simply tie a tourniquet around the part we want, inject it with the liquid, then hack it clean off. There's not even any blood! At least from the part we want. So, if we cannot save your leg, just know it will be going towards a good cause! Our lifestyle! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!" Betsumon wiped a tear from his eye from laughing so hard.
"We have plenty of torches to close the wound so everything will be fine, no matter what way this goes. I just wanted you to know since it's your leg after all." Betsumon patted Sol on his head then began walking away looking at a group of men in the distance. Sol was sobbing heavily that a small puddle had appeared on the table. "Hey! Prepare the caravan! I want this Guilmon in headquarters by Lady Jesibel's tea time tomorrow!" Betsumon ordered. Sol kept wincing every time the man touched his wound. Sol had no hope left. He wad frightened and had no means of escape or a will to fight. As far as he was concerned his journey was coming to a close.

The clock had gone around three times since Sol first arrived at this camp. He lay his head on the table where he was bound, his eyes half shut. He would wince occasionally as the man was still working on Sol's leg injury. Sol could not work up the strength to resist these people anymore. His breathing had become slow and lengthy. This man only worked on it however, when Betsumon was in the room. Otherwise, he would be doing something else, eating, drinking, or something other then what he was told. The wound around Sol's ankle had turned a dark purple almost black and the veins in his legs were noticeable. The wound had swollen to the point it was no longer bleeding. Betsumon had walked in to the room, the man was actually working this time because he had noticed the discoloration on Sol's leg. "It's been 3 friggin' hours! Why in Jesibel's name is it taking so long swine!?" He roared. "I-I'm sorry boss, we're not exactly equipped with the latest medical supplies....plus I'm not that skilled in medicines....or surgeries..." He answered. "It was a simple wound! How the hell much more do you need to know to treat it!?" Betsumon walked over to Sol and lifted his head. He stared at Sol's eyes and waved his claw in front of them. Sol's eyes did not respond to the gesture.
"That can't be good..." Betsumon said. "I think it's dying." Betsumon dropped Sol's head to the cold steel. "No no no.....this can't happen!! It's no good to us dead!!!" Betsumon started biting his claws and pacing back and forth in between the room. Betsumon walked over and pushed the man out of the way, "Let me see that wound!" Betsumon nearly had a heart attack when he saw it. "YOU IDIOT!! HOW THE HELL DID YOU LET IT GET THIS BAD!? I SHOULD HAVE YOUR HEAD FOR THIS!!!" Betsumon screamed kicking the man. "Sir!! I'm sorry!! I tried my best!!!" He exclaimed. "It looks like the infection has spread into his bloodstream!!" Betsumon began frantically rubbing his head. "I need to make a phone call!!! Keep working!!! DO NOT LET IT DIE OR WE'LL BURY YOU ALONG WITH IT!" He screamed storming off into the next room. The man took a sigh of relief and stood up, "This thing has been nothing but trouble for me....maybe it should die." He said. "I should just grab a few scales and run....I'll be set for life....maybe even your tail. You might as well just be body parts." He said patting Sol on the head.
The man looked at Sol's leg and then sat back in his chair, "Who am I kidding? No one can save that leg now. You're a goner bud. Tough break. All I know is...I am NOT dying for you." The man took out a pocket knife and dug it into Sol's back, taking careful precision to avoid his spine. Sol's reaction did not change, his eyes simply twitched once. As the man began to cut a section of Sol's scales off, blood raced down his side, pooling on the table next to him. "Wish I could carve ya entirely, but...we can't have it all right? Besides, you'll be dead within the next few hours...you won't need these anymore. heh heh heh." He patted Sol's head and lifted his tail, contemplating whether to sever it or not. "I would...but I doubt I'll make it out of the forest carrying this...consider it a parting gift." He took his scales and headed towards the exit. Sol was alone. His thoughts were empty and he felt cold. He listened to his heart and felt it beating slower and slower as time went on. His breath had fogged up the cold steel and he could see a slight reflection of himself, even if blurry.
He was tired, but afraid to sleep. He could feel it in his gut that shutting his eyes would be a bad idea. He wanted it so badly though, the sweet stillness of sleep. He knew it would relieve him of the pain he was in. He could dream wonderful things. Perhaps he'd think on the past that he occasionally remembered. What he truly wanted was to dream of the memories he could, the memories that could have been. He could only really remember two people. The only ones he met in this world. It would be nice to think of them as he drifted off. That is what he wanted but he could not shake this fear in him. It kept him awake. He wondered for how much longer? His eye lids kept getting heavy. His body colder. He would think Fireball, but it was just a thought. There wasn't even the smell of smoke on his breath let alone embers. Sol was thankful for the brief wet warmth running down his side, it didn't take the cold away but it reminded him of the warmth he so craved. Still, in his empty mind the thought of "If I just sleep..." crossed his mind. With every passing second it sounded more and more welcoming. The light was beginning to dim. The part of his claw lost it's red and was now a dull red almost grey. That was odd. Sol could have sworn he was red. Sol was alone. Just the clock and Sol in this room. Tick tock, tick tock. The sound was so soothing. Tick tock tick tock. It would be time to sleep soon.

Such wonderful shades of grey, Sol would think staring out into his colorless world. What serene silence, Sol thought as he could hear nothing in this silent bliss. This strange numbness, he continued to think as his body felt like air. Is this what it's like to fade? Is this death? It's so strange. I feel like I never was, that everything outside of this reality was simply a dream. It is so distant, the vibrancy of life. It's colors, sounds, smell and touch. Did I imagine it? The tastes of food and water....huh...I can't remember how those things were. This is death. What was I? Who was I? I can't remember. This is indeed death. I do know this feeling I feel, this sole feeling that is left. It hasn't faded yet. This tiredness, this fatigue. The heaviness I feel weighing on my colorless eyes. It's uncomfortable. Why haven't I slept yet? What reason could I have had to stay awake? I can't remember. I don't care to. It's so uncomfortable, in this grey, silent numbness. I will sleep, and fade away in this world. Will I wake up? Ha ha. A pointless question. This is after all death. Then I must say goodbye. Goodbye to the different greys and funny shapes. Goodbye to the silent buzz in my ears. Goodbye to the numbness that feels like air, and finally goodbye to the heaviness that holds me here. Death is my friend now, it holds me close. Hello, frigid cold, hello my new friend. Hello to this new sorrow. Hello. my. end.
Betsumon walked into the inner sanctum to check on Sol. His guard was no where to be seen. He panicked and ran over to Sol laying there on the table and he lifted his head. His eyes had lost color and his eyes closed slowly. "No no no no no no no!!!" Betsumon placed his ear to Sol's side. Sol's heartbeat was separated by 60 seconds. Thump............ thump, it beated in his chest. Betsumon backed away bitting the nails on his gloves. "Lady Jesibel is going to kill me!!!!" He panicked frantically rubbing his head. "That will be difficult for her, since I will kill you first." Ichi said walking into the room. Betsumon looked in the direction of the voice and looked at Ichi and Dasuke walking in. "The wench had help!? Who the hell are you two?" Betsumon asked. Ichi continued walking towards Sol, Betsumon stood in front of Sol. "This belongs to Lady Jesibel!!! You can't have it!!!" Ichi continued to walk removing his hand from his pants. It was clenched and covered in a pure dark light. Betsumon prepared to attack raising his claws, then looked at Ichi in his eyes. What Betsumon saw in Ichi's eyes, struck him with a paralyzing fear. It was like looking into the eyes of the devil himself. Betsumon couldn't budge and began to shake, his face displaying an extreme fear. Ichi backhanded Betsumon with his clenched fist, it sent Betsumon flying through the room; crashing into the wall and leaving teeth and blood behind where Ichi had hit him.
Betsumon was laying on the floor, barely conscious. The noise and trembling of the impact rang through out the fortress and within a few moments, legions of guards arrived in the room. They called for their leaders name as they ran to help him. Ichi eyed Sol and placed his ear to his side, he heard a single thump. Ichi stood up, "Fear." He called, breaking through the ceiling; the debris causing the men to scatter, came Nurse Fear with her bag. She walked up to Ichi and handed him a needle she pulled out from the bag. Ichi quickly injected Sol and threw the needle away. Ichi coated his hand in his digisoul, and shattered the chains that bound Sol. Nurse Fear picked up Sol and stepped away from Ichi. "Dasuke, take Sol and Nurse Fear and go back to a safe place. As far from here as you can. Do not ask for transportation out until you all are clear. Nurse Fear will put Sol on life support. He is life is just about faded. The injection I gave him will keep his heart beating for another twenty minutes. The nanobots in that injection are synthetic and made from Parasimon." Ichi looked at him, "You must not move to fast. Sol cannot handle high speed travel and no matter what, do not turn back." Ichi turned back around, "I've been angered, I will catch up to you soon. After I have erased this fort from this world." Ichi said he claimed he was angry but with his style of speech you couldn't tell.
Betsumon had come to holding his face, "You're W.A.D.A. aren't you? You're not allowed to kill us!" Betsumon said. Ichi removed his other hand from his pocket and raised it. Nurse Fear reached into her bag, and tossed Ichi's D.I.G. towards him. Ichi grabbed and equipped it. "You must be mistaken. I have not ever been a member of W.A.D.A., not now and not ever. I do as I please....and right now....I wish to kill everyone in this building." Ichi summoned Death Wish and rested the tip of the blade on the ground. If Dasuke was still watching, Ichi would look to him and say, "Why are you still here. Get going. Now!" Ichi would wait to sense Dasuke, Sol and Nurse Fear were clear of the fortress before he would begin. Betsumon looked at Dasuke, "Stop him!!!!" The guards began to run chasing after Dasuke. About fifty or so from the countless in the room. Ichi eyed them without moving his head, and lifted his scythe. He slashed in their direction, releasing a burst of his Digisoul, the men screamed as they fell to pieces. Ichi glared as he was only able to kill 48 of the 50 men that were sent to chase Dasuke. The men and Betsumon were stricken with the realization that Ichi was serious. They began to fear for their lives. "Wh-wh-wh-what are you waiting for!?!? Get him!!" Betsumon yelled.

Dasuke followed on Dr. Ichi's heels as they entered the room that Betsumon went into. He was mortified at what he found. There was Sol, lain out on a table, and seemingly butchered. He was covered in blood and barely clinging to life. Before Dasuke could go comfort his old friend, Betsumon began to freak out and check Sol's vitals, then panicking about some woman named Jezebel. Ichi then gave up that they were there by speaking, which triggered Betsumon to attempt an attack, but Ichi was too fast and smacked Betsumon across the face, sending him across the room and crumpling to the ground. His power was immense.
Ichi then summoned Fear who smashed through the ceiling and handed Ichi a needle that he injected into Sol, allegedly stopping his body from deteriorating further, for the time being at least. Ichi sent Fear out of the room with Sol in her arms. Ichi instructed them to flee while he wiped this place from existance. It was then that Betsumon came to and said that W.A.D.A. isn't allowed to kill. Ichi said something about not being W.A.D.A., and wanting to kill them all, which Dasuke didn't understand. He was the head of W.A.D.A.'s medical and science divisions, wasn't he? Before he could ponder any further, Ichi summoned a massive scythe out of thin air and the sight stunned Dasuke. Not only was this man ridiculously strong, he had some kind of power as well! The weapon must have been stored inside his D.I.G., but the sudden appearance was still something to behold. Ichi turned to Dasuke and commanded that he leave. Dasuke was scared, but knew he didn't want to see what happened next. He turned and rushed after Nurse Fear and Sol, not being able to say a word that entire time in shock. He kept his bow at the ready and ran down the hall until he caught up to Fear and Sol. He finally got a chance to speak, even though he knew Fear would not respond.
"We have to get out of here. Quickly. Sol doesn't have much time. Once we get to the tree line, I'll call for extraction. Now let's go!!" Dasuke ran down the hallway towards the exit he came through.

Betsumon's henchmen surrounded Ichi as Betsumon himself slipped out of the room undetected. Ichi looked at the countless men near him and they all drew their weapons on him, some with guns and others with swords. "I detest humans." Ichi uttered as he clenched his scythe. Dasuke and Nurse Fear were out of range of Ichi's perfect Digisoul and Ichi released it at full power, the sheer force sent the men hurdling in every direction. They screamed and yelled as they bashed up against the walls, most of them dropping their weapons. A group got back up and scrambled for their weapons, Ichi had already begun his attack, swinging Death Wish horizontally. It cleaved about forty of the men in front of him in half, the walls and floor quickly becoming stained with their blood. "K-Kill him!!!" The men began to fire with their guns, the shots coated in electrical energy. The black aura surrounding Ichi took every shot and was unaffected by them, he ran through the hordes of men cutting them down by the dozen. His skill with the scythe was unbelievable, it was almost like a dance of death. He was very acrobatic while swinging the scythe around, he'd cut those in front of him and shoot the ones behind him from the shaft on the end. The men quickly began to lose face and started to retreat, within moments the rooms numbers were thinned to lower then half. Ichi's clothes were soaked in the blood of his enemies, his skin was now a bright red from the splatter and his scythe ran like a river. The bodies that laid before him were many and unrecognizable.
"It's no use! He's a monster! He can't be killed!!!" One man yelled as he made a hasty retreat, others following behind him. "Ichi, you're still recovering from the trial of darkness, don't overdo it. Even with my abilities, your wounds still need to be rested." Parasimon said. Ichi ignored his partners warnings and kept at it. He killed the last man currently in the room as the others headed for the exit, "I will allow no one to escape." Ichi raised his D.I.G., "Daisuke Ichi, Parasimon, Dark Lizamon, Fantomon. Digi Xros!" A massive surge of energy exploded from Ichi, engulfing the very building they were in. Dasuke would be able to see and feel the immense power, even at his distance as a black pillar raced into the sky. The fortress was now nothing but a pile of stone and rubble, burning with black flames surrounding Ichi as he stood in his evolved form. "X3." He said as he looked around at the debris, most of the men did not make it out as parts of their bodies were protruding from the rubble. He looked at the surrounding forest and could see the men running in different directions, Ichi flipped Soul Eater so that the blade was behind him and the gun was in front. "Infernal Rain." He said and began to shoot his scythe's gun in different directions and an incredible speed, hitting the fleeing men with pinpoint accuracy. The screams of the men being hit filled the air and traveled vast distances, smoke began to rise from the forest as the men burned. The tress also began to burn and soon a black fire rose to the canopy of the forest. It looked like a black hell.
Nurse Fear and Dasuke at this point had made it to a clearing where they would be able to teleport out. Nurse Fear stopped and looked at Dasuke, awaiting for him to teleport. Before Dasuke could gather himself however, a bullet whizzed into the back of Nurse Fears leg and she collapsed, causing Sol to fall hard on his side. "Stop right there! You're not taking our prize!!" The two men that had escaped Ichi's blade had finally caught up to them. One of the men looked horridly frightened though, "H-Hey....l-look!" He said. The other men turned around and the black flames could be seen in the sky even several yards away from the fortress. "What is going on back there!? Where did those black flames come from!?" The other said. The two being distracted gave Fear enough time to recover and she ran at the two men. She took out a scalpel from her pocket and plunged it through one of the men's eye to his brain just as he turned around. Unfortunately, her body took to much damage at this point and she collapsed with the dead solider. The last remaining solider looked at the two and he clenched his teeth, "Damn it this all really went to hell!!" He looked at Dasuke, "Hey Agent!! This has gone crazy! That thing isn't worth your life! It's going to die anyway! Leave it be and retreat and I'll let you go! If you don't, I'll make sure you pay for all of the friends I lost today!" He said pulling out a sword and shield. "The choice is yours!" He said.

As Dasuke and Nurse Fear ran through the woods, Dasuke was suddenly struck by a terrifyingly familiar aura, however it was much much stronger this time around. Still running, he turned his head back towards the complex to find the source, and was met with the sight of a pillar of black flames and smoke rising from what was left of the structure. The power level emanating from the flames was incredible. It was no doubt the power of Doctor Ichi. Dasuke could recognize the power signature from when he angered him back at his lab. However, this power was infinitely stronger and struck terror into Dasuke's heart. How could one man possess such power? No time to dwell on that now, he needed to get back to the Tartarus to get Sol the help he desperately needs.
He and Nurse Fear soon came to a clearing from which Dasuke could call for extraction. Before he could even get his D.I.G. prepared to make the transmission, a gunshot ran out and Nurse Fear went down, dropping Sol in the process. Dasuke hit the deck himself and realized that Nurse Fear had been struck in the leg. Dasuke rolled to the right side and took a knee, grabbing his bow and taking aim. He then realized that they had been pursued by two men, armed with rifles. They both looked stricken with fear at the power emanating from the building they had fled from. They turned around and looked at the smoldering remains, which gave Nurse Fear enough time to strike. Moving quickly, she pulled out a scalpel from her sleeve and drove it deep into the eye of the man that shot her, before succumbing to her injuries and collapsing on top of his corpse. It would seem that even the dead can be killed after all. The remaining attacker turned back to Dasuke and offered to let him go if he agreed to leave Sol behind. That's when a lightbulb went off in Dasuke's head. "Alright. Alright. I don't want to die and I don't want to be forced to kill you. Just...let me say good-bye to my friend. Please." Dasuke pleaded with the attacker, but did not lower his bow at all. He would walk over slowly to where Sol was lying, but kept his eyes and his bow aimed at the man, ready to defend himself at a moment's notice. He had a full quiver to work with, and he was prepared to do so if needed.

Ichi was still standing in place from the moment he evolved, firing Soul Eater to wherever he could find a Dark Helix member. "The only good thing about a human, is how well they burn." Ichi turned his head to the side and sensed Dasuke alone with a Dark Helix agent and Nurse Fear was gone. Ichi narrowed his eyes and pointed his scythe's shaft in that direction, but before he could fire, a massive gust of wind rose from the ground and flowed into the sky. There was a woman's laughter at the focal point in the sky. Ichi looked up and saw the Rosemon X absorbing the black flames through her jewel. "Now now, how would you like it if I burned down your home hm?" She said floating down to the forest floor "You seem to have made a mess of the place my dear, I do hope you have the decency to clean it all up." She said smiling, resting her hand on her hip and cocking it to one side. "A Rosemon....with a unique appearance. I wasn't aware Digimon were into fashion." Ichi said turning to face her. "I always try to look my best. They call me Jesibel. I am the guild master of Dark Helix and you must be the infamous Xros Demon." She licked her lips and giggled, "I imagined you to be a bit more intimidating to be honest, I suppose rumors are just that." Jesibel said, Ichi narrowed his eyes at the woman "Did you order the capture of my patient?" Ichi asked. Jesibel chuckled yet again, "I wonder?" She said.
Meanwhile, in the clearing the grunt heard Dasuke's request and lowered his weapon "Fine. Hurry up. Don't do anything funny or I'll make you regret it!" At this point, the grunt just wanted to get this over with, he wanted to get as far away from here as possible. Then at that moment, the smell of smoke lessened and the crackling of the fire was replaced by the sound of suction. The black flames had been sucked out of the forest and into a center point of a sky, they were to far away to tell what caused it. "What the heck is going on back there? God this is just to much..." The grunt looked back at Dasuke and raised his weapon. "That thing is going to die, what the hell do they want it for? This is such a pain! Move it agent! Or you'll join your red friend in the ground!" He said.

Dasuke also noticed the cloud of smoke being sucked into the sky by some invisible force, but didn't look at it too long. He noticed that his attacker had become distracted by it and took his eyes off of Dasuke and Sol. Dasuke took that opportunity and loosed his readied arrow, taking aim at the grunt's right leg. With luck, it would pierce him while wasn't looking and disable him. Hit or miss, Dasuke then wrapped an arm around Sol and activated his D.I.G.'s communication feature. "This is Dasuke Moto requesting immediate extraction for myself and an injured Digimon! We are under attack and need EXFIL immediately! Please hurry!"
Should Dasuke's arrow have missed, or the grunt get up despite his injuries, Dasuke would not let go of Sol, but instead grab an arrow by hand and wield it like a spear to defend himself from any potential attack.

Just as the grunt finished his threat, an arrow struck his right leg. He fell face first to the floor and dropped his sword and shield, his pant leg reddened with blood and he clenched his teeth. He moved his hand and grabbed the shaft of the arrow and wiggled it until it came out of his leg. "You stupid...now you'll die!!!" The grunt screamed reaching for his weapon and stood up. Fortunately for Dasuke, the agents mobility would now be severely strained. The grunt tried putting pressure on his right leg and a sharp pain ran through it. "Aw damn it!!!" The grunt had reached his limit and turned in the opposite direction and began to limp away. "Screw this! I'm not dying today!" He fled as he knew he'd be unable to win with the wound to his leg. It seems Dasuke's swift action ended the fight before it could even begin. All that was left was for he and Sol to be transported back to the Tartarus. However, there was feedback on his com, "Agent......suke.....say again......copy.....interference...over." Amano could be heard among the white noise. Sol very slightly opened his eye, though he could see nothing, his once bright yellow eye was nearly grey. It would be open just long enough for Dasuke to notice before closing once more.

Ichi held his scythe tightly and looked at the brooding woman digimon, "Whether you ordered his capture or not no longer matters to me, you as the guild master will pay the consequence. Such is the nature of a guild master, and this crime is punished by death." Ichi began to walk slowly, dragging the blade of his scythe along the ground. It sparked as it cut open the earth beneath it, any normal person would be instilled with fear at the very sight of this being but Jesibel had a smile. "You presume that you can kill me then? Intriguing. Don't bore me now, that would be rude." A vine wrapped around Jesibel's arm extended to that of a rapier and she held it in front of herself. Ichi in the blink of an eye, became a near invisible blur and was above Jesibel. Jesibel was shocked and barely had time to raise her sword to block his scythe. The ground shattered under the extreme pressure of Ichi's strength and Jesibel found herself standing in a crater. Ichi's expression remained blank and he commanded his fire to engulf his weapon's blade. "Let us see if your flower burns just as beautifully." He said as the fire engulfed Jesibel's rapier and moved towards her hand, she bit her lip trying to quickly think of away out of this. She pushed Ichi's scythe to the side and she leaped out of the crater and flew into the sky. Jesibel dropped the part of her vine that burned away and created a new rapier, "I can see those rumors weren't all talk after all, perhaps I can....*GASP*" Jesibel attempted to speak but did not find Ichi in a listening mood as he appeared to the left side of her, his scythe already in it's swinging motion. Jesibel again barely defended herself in time. "Hell's Fang." Ichi's scythe let out a crescent flame that engulfed Jesibel's body and hurdled her into the forest causing the black flame to eat at the trees again. Ichi twirled his scythe a few times before pointing the opposite end at the burning portion of the forest. "I'm sending you straight to hell. Infernal Rain." Ichi pulled the trigger on his scythe and the sky began to rain black flamed bullets that exploded when they hit the ground causing erratic bursts of flame to reach out over the canopy. The amount of shots were incalculable. "Ichi, don't over do it...I can't continue to lend you my power and keep your self inflicted injury from reopening much longer." Parasimon exclaimed, but Ichi ignored him.
Ichi finally released the trigger, and tried to sense the life force of his quarry. "She still lives?" Ichi said and as if on queue, a massive surge of energy erupted from the black flames and Jesibel was yelling in anger at it's center. Her body was seriously burned and parts of her clothes burned. She had blood coming from different places and she was breathing heavily. "You!!! I'LL KILL YOU!!!!" Rosemon's Tiafret turned pitch black and gave off a purple hue as her rapier and newly formed whip was set a flame with deep purple flame. "Did you think you were the only one who was a devil!? I'll show you what real demon power can do!!" Rosemon yelled. Ichi remained unmoved by her display, "Thorn Whip!" Jesibel lashed her whip at Ichi who dodged to his right, however the flames rippled off of her whip and hit Ichi hard, he fell down into the forest below. Jesibel flew over to Ichi and began lashing at him with her whip, one lash after the other. The force pushed Ichi deeper and deeper into the ground. "Now do you see!? I have been given the power of a true demon! Your make shift power is a lie! You will learn the real power is truly terrifying!!!" Jesibel said. The thunderous echoes of her whip traveled through the forest.

Damn. Dasuke thought. The communicator was on the fritz. Was it somehow damaged in the escape? He had to get to higher ground and get a better signal. Suddenly, a sudden feeling struck Dasuke like lightning and he instantly knew what was causing the disturbance. He could feel Ichi's power emanating even from this far away. There was no mistaking that power signature. But something was wrong. There was another aura present on the same level as Ichi's. Fear gripped Dasuke as he realized that something that strong was after them. There was no way to survive if he got captured by it. Dasuke soon heard distant crashing and explosions as the two titans battled. Dasuke knew he had to get away from them to get a call through. He cradled Sol in his arms as carefully as he could and went to lift him. He noticed the red digimon open his eye briefly before closing it again and fainting. "Don't worry, friend. I'll get you out of this. And hopefully we'll never meet like this again." Dasuke said to Sol, unsure if he heard him or not.
Dasuke stood to his feet as delicately as he could. Sol was loosing blood quickly and Dasuke was already covered in a good amount of it. He took one more look at Nurse Fear's body before heading deeper into the forest away from the battle. Dasuke pushed himself through trees and bushes, trying to put as much distance between him and the ruined temple as possible. He had to get a signal out to the Tartarus for EVAC or Sol wasn't going to make it. After a few minutes, the power level from the fighting duo seemed less intense and Dasuke would once again attempt to call for help.
"This is Agent Dasuke Moto!! I am under attack with a critically injured Digimon!! Requesting immediate extraction from my location! Hurry please!!" He yelled into his D.I.G.. He could only pray it got through.

With every lash landing a blow on Ichi, the trees bent outwards with the force from each impact. Ichi and let go of his scythe as it laid on the ground, it seemed he was in a bit of a bind. "HA HA HA HA HA!!! Now you know that Dark Helix is more then a match for W.A.D.A. scum! This is the power that brought Harlequin to it's knees! This is the power that defeated the Royal Knight Lord Knightmon and now it will be the power that slew the Xros Demon!" Jesibel laughed. Ichi didn't move as his body sank deeper and deeper into the earth. Could this be the end of the Xros Demon? Done in by Dark Helix? Jesibel finally stopped after fifty or so lashes, Ichi's shirt had been ripped to shreds exposing his body underneath that had been torn open by the whip. He was bleeding and lied there without so much as a twitch. Jesibel had a wide grin from one end of her face to the other, she had done the impossible. She had beaten the Xros Demon who was revered during the war and among W.A.D.A. Ichi's aura was all but gone and undetectable. "...ead you Dasuke! I repeat! We read you loud and clear Dasuke Moto! We have finally located you and have cleared you for an emergency transport. Stand by for realization!" Amano said over the communicator. A white aura surrounded Dasuke and Sol, and their bodies began to very slowly disassemble to be transported back to the Tartarus. There was no stopping it now, meanwhile, back at the battle Jesibel and relaxed as she looked at her bloodied prey, feeling in complete control. Then something in the atmosphere changed, and Jesibel could sense it. What was this feeling? It gnawed at her nerves and made her uneasy, it instilled in her a fear unlike anything she could ever know. Why? How could she feel this way? Her battle was won, all that was left to do was kill Ichi so then why did this feeling suddenly happen upon her? It was as if the world had grown quiet, every beast of the forest motionless and silent. The wind had ceased it's gentle breeze and the trees their rustling. Jesibel could hear her heartbeat begin to pound faster and faster. It felt like her chest was not large enough to contain it, she clenched her breast as if to calm it. Sweat rippled down her face as she looked back at her......quarry? Something was different, there was a deathly black aura oozing from the crater and it hid the once visible Ichi. Her breathing became lighter and shorter, she could feel her knees beginning to buckle outside of her control. "I-It can't be.....you....you still had....this kind of power...? Wh-What are you.......?" Jesibel screamed at the top her lungs. "WHAT ARE YOU!!! " She yelled in distress. Just as she screamed, a massive digital pressure erupted from the ground and weighed heavily on Jesibel. She had felt choked, like she were drowning, a familiar feeling Dasuke once had. "Daisuke Ichi.......X4" A voice echoed from the darkness below. A hellish black flame erupted high into the stratosphere, incinerating the surrounding area to dust. Jesibel held her cape in front of her as she backed away, cussing under her breath. Two yellow eyes glared at her from the black flames and pierced her to her very soul, Jesibel froze up being unable to move or do anything. She was biting her bottom lip so hard, she drew blood. Then with one mighty flap of Ichi's wings, the black fire dissipated into the sky and a devil could be seen hovering in place. This was the true, Xros Demon. Meanwhile, Dasuke had just about completed his transfer. The very last vision he saw before it faded to white was a winged monstrosity though he'd be to far away to actually make it out to it's fullest, he could take a very educated guess as to who that was. Had he been any closer, the pressure would have killed Dasuke and Sol both. He would not remain to see the outcome of this bout as he was now back on the Tartarus. Jesibel's hands shook as she slowly lifted her arm with the whip, Ichi was just staring at her, his arms hanging at his side with his scythe no where to be found. "....no....no...no no no no NO NO NO NO AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Jesibel screamed out distraught, she lifted her arm to swing her whip but just as it reached it's apex, her face froze with surprise. Something had happened....something was missing....something was running.....oozing....out of her....it was so warm and wet...what happened? She would think. Why can't I....why is my arm not responding...? Why won't my whip....move? A single black feather passed by her face towards the direction of her lifted arm. Her head very slowly moved to look. What she saw, was a gaping whole where her arm should have been. It was gone, torn from her body like paper. She was in disbelief at first, and then her brain realized that it was gone and the pain set in. She reached for her shoulder and embraced it with her remaining arm and gave out a horrid scream of agony. The blood dripping from the stump to the scarred earth below. Ichi was behind her now, clenching in one claw, Jesibels arm. He moved so that his side was facing the Digimon. He released the arm and it fell towards the ground and dissipated before it could touch it. Jesibel had no words and could not find the strength to run or fight. She was stricken with paralyzing fear and tears rolled down her face from her hidden eyes. She tried to beg but she even failed at that, Ichi turned now completely facing her and lifted up his claw again. It was aimed at her head this time. Ichi flew through the air at Jesibel, his claw extended, it would be seconds before he'd have his prey firmly grasped in his claw....or so he thought. Ichi stopped short, the tip of middle finger's talon poking into the flesh of Rosemon's forehead. Blood leaked out and down her face, and this time Ichi was frozen. "Gah." He said. Jesibel couldn't understand why he stopped, she was so confused. She then noticed something....Ichi was bleeding. Badly. His chest had become stained with red and it drizzled out of his now ripped open wound. "I warned you Ichi! You went to far! You need to retreat or you'll die! I need to perform immediate surgery!" Parasimon said from within. Jesibel then snapped back into reality and took the opportunity to kick Ichi away which sent him hurdling to the trees below. "You'll pay for this.....Xros Demon...." Dismembered and caught up in her emotions, Jesibel did not take this opportunity to finish off Ichi and instead left to see to her own wound. She flew as fast as she could to get away, because she was afraid he'd regain his composure and kill her. She could not die yet, he could not be allowed to be revived yet. She still had to much to do. "I will never forget this defeat.....and I will have my revenge..." She said before she was completely out of sight and hidden from Ichi. In the forest below, Ichi laid on the tree he had flew into. His Xros was undone and his digimon stood at his side. "Hang in there! I'll patch you up!" Parasimon said crawling into the wound on Ichi's chest. "P-Parasimon....do not....give me a complete healing...." Ichi ordered. "Are you insane Ichi!?" Dark Lizamon said, "He's right...you are going to die if Parasimon doesn't heal you!" Velgmon added. "No...time....Sol.....my patient.....needs me..." Ichi said trying to get up but nearly collapsing. His digimon caught him, "You can't help anyone if you're dead!" Phantomon replied. "This....is not up for debate.....just enough to get me mobile...." Ichi demanded. His digimon looked at each other in concern, "F-Fine." Parasimon said and got to work. The others returned to Ichi's D.I.G. and he began to very slowly hobble towards the forest entrance. His head hanging low. Soon to return to the Tartarus. It seems this battle would have to be settled in a draw.
