Alright. Let's face it. As characters level up, they will be updating their weapons and increasing their skills, maybe even learning a new weapon style. So, it makes sense for characters to be able to change their weapons and even carry more than one weapon at a time. What's the last time you played a combat game and your character only had one weapon the whole way through? I didn't think so. So let's increase the carry count.
Now, I'm not talking Grand Theft Auto logic where your machine gun runs out of bullets, so you put it in your pocket and pull a rocket launcher out of your ass. I want this to stay as realistic as possible. For the sake of argument, your weapon class is ranged and you like guns. Your primary weapon is an assault rifle you carry in front of you soldier style and can throw over your back when not in use. If that gun runs out of ammo, you're screwed. Unless you happen to have a pistol on your hip! You're saved! And when that runs out, maybe a sawed-off shotgun on your other hip and a revolver at your ankle. The possibilities are endless. Now, there are currently weapons that can be digitized and stored in the D.I.G.. The example here being Ichi's scythe. He materializes it when he needs it, and stores it when he doesn't because it is such a massive weapon that he doesn't wanna be walking around looking like the Grim Reaper all the time. I will allow this option for every player with big weapons, but only eligible for ONE WEAPON at a time. If you wish to have a new giant weapon that needs to be digitized, you have to store your current one in the bank first.
Of course, there are drawbacks to being armed to the teeth. For example, guns are heavy. So are bows, and so are swords. So, if you're gonna make yourself look like Rambo, you gotta remember that a person can only carry so much before it becomes cumbersome and slows you down, or stops you in your tracks entirely. If you're running for your life with a broadsword hanging off you, it could potentially slip and cut your own leg open, and that will end your escape real fast. These things all have to be taken into account before you can start adding to your physical inventory. You also have to keep in mind any damage each weapon takes that could hinder it in the next fight. Dulled blades, low ammo, broken bow strings, etc.
If you can keep all these things in your mind while you are doing it, then you'll be in good shape. And as always, Sol and I will be around to judge how realistic and practical your proposed set up is. This system won't come into play until people can actually afford to buy multiple weapons, but at least now it's in place for when the time comes. Let's see how this works out guys!!
