A Rowdy Breakfast

Theos looked about the large room as he stepped into it. It was beautiful. "Raja, we're all done with our morning bath and we have Kemba and Theos with us as well." So that Spinomon was his aunt. Theos gave her a broad smile and walked over, "What is this place!? It's the biggest place I've ever been in and it's so fancy!!" Theos looked back and chuckled with the others. In truth he had stopped being surprised. Though he hadn't stopped being impressed by the place. "It's our dining room, and where we hold the royal ball." Don said smiling at Kemba's reaction. "Yes, and this is where you'll have yours Theos." No wonder it was so big then if a bunch of people were going to be here. "I can't even imagine this place filled with people!" Theos looked up as Raja approached. "It's so nice to meet you Prince Theos, Sir Kemba. Oh my, you both are quite the lookers my husband failed to truly express how cute you both are. I had the kitchen prepare us a welcome breakfast. Come, come." Theos smiled, "Thank you aunt Raja." "Nice to meet you as well your majesty and thank you for the hospitality." Kemba said, "Well certainly! We are all family here and I want you both to fit right in as quickly as I can. It will be like having two more sons!" Theos was sure. She was sorely outnumbered. "My boys didn't give you a hard time I hope, Cora included." Theos shook his head no and jumped into his seat. "We have felt nothing but welcomed since we got here." Kemba said. "We're gonna teach cousin to dance!" Ban yelled jumping up and down. "Ban dear, sit still when you're at the table." She said and Ban immediately obeyed, "Yes ma'me." Ban said, "Don make your cousin a plate of greens please." She asked, "Yes Ma'me!" Don said fetching together a plate for Theos. "Kaa, could you pour us all some water? Make sure you put it in a bowl for Theos." Theos wondered if it was always like this. "She certainly seems to have a lot of authority for someone who seems so kind." Cora leaned in and whispered to Theos and Kemba, "That's because she's the real boss. Mom's are scary and my wife is no exception. She's the silent and deadly type." He said. "Dear...what are you whispering to them over there? You should be sitting up straight." She said smiling menacingly at Cora. "N-Nothing Raja...I'll sit up straight!" Theos chuckled, "I think I'm going to like living here." Theos couldn't help but to agree.


"Here you go cousin!" Theos smiled, "Thank you," he said to both the boys. "No meat Don?" Kemba asked, Don shook his head, "I prefer eating vegetables over meat, it helps with digestion and keeps the colon clean. Plus, it keeps the brain healthy." He said fixing his lens on his snout. "A dinosaur who doesn't eat meat is just weird no matter how you slice it." Ban teased, "You're weird!" Don replied. "Smooth comeback spectacles." Ban stated, "Ban, Don cut it out! Don't act out at the table!" Kaa said. Ban and Don looked at their brother, "He started it!" They said in unison. "Now now boys, let's all relax." Theos chuckled at the bantering pair. You could tell they were good brothers. "So Theos, has my husband told you about your party?" Theos nodded swallowing his bite.

"He did tell me we were going to have a big ball. I was wondering about inviting some people," Theos responded. "Seven others....although if you're already inviting Blake and Kilgath then five."

Ban bit into his food, tearing at it wildly. You could even here him growling as he did so, Kaa took his time and ate much slower and much more mature. Don ate his greens at a simple pace making sure to grind them to a paste before swallowing which was hard to do when every single one of your teeth were meant to tear and shred. Cora ate much like Kaa which was to be no surprise since Kaa was so keen on being the perfect heir. Raja practically nibbled her food, "Inviting people will be no trouble at all dear, who did you have in mind besides Lord Kilgath and Lord Blake?" Raja asked. Kemba kicked his feet and hummed while he ate with nothing to say he just listened. Cora softened his look and frowned a bit, "I'm not sure Lord Blake would be able to attend. He had serious complications when apprehending the criminal." Cora said swallowing. Raja looked at Cora, "Is he alright?" Raja asked. Kemba looked to Cora as well, he didn't really know what was going on. He was under the spell of Dark Theos but had no idea that it was spawned from this criminal. "He will live...but I fear his life will never be the same again. The witch seriously wounded Blake, I was to visit Kilgath today to check on Blakes condition." Cora mentioned. "What happened?" Kemba asked. "Blake lost an arm and his face was partially damaged beyond repair, even for Magi's spells." Cora said. The triplets frowned at this news, they knew very little about Blake except that he was a great fighter and Kilgath's son. Kemba clenched his paw, "Blake...." Kemba said. Raja kept quiet as the news set in, "He served the crown with great honor and will be rewarded with high praise and gifts. It won't repair his wounded body but it's the least we can do." Cora added. Raja nodded in agreement, "Yes...Blake would like that I'm sure. Is he up and about at least?" Raja asked Cora shook his head, "I'm not sure. All I know is that he is alive." Cora responded. "I believe Kilgath is more hurt then his son. I cannot imagine how his heart must ache. He is one of the strongest Lords I know, I grew up with him and never once did he cry until last night. His son is his whole world." Cora said. "This really sucks..." Kemba said, he looked at Theos and held his hoof tight. "How are you feeling?" He asked.

"Inviting people will be no trouble at all dear, who did you have in mind besides Lord Kilgath and Lord Blake?" Theos was about to answer when Coras sour look caught his attention, "I'm not sure Lord Blake would be able to attend. He had serious complications when apprehending the criminal." "I'm just glad he is alive. Got to dwell on the good," Theos said with a half hearted smile. He was sorry he had brought it up now at the table it was such a somber discussion. "I'd like to invite Kim and her family. Jared and Max from Bai Hu as well. I'm not sure if Max could make it but I'm sure Jared will want to be here," Theos said trying to change the subject to something lighter like the party itself. "What kind of music is ballroom music?"

"I'm just glad he is alive. Got to dwell on the good," Raja nodded in agreement as did Kemba. "I'd like to invite Kim and her family. Jared and Max from Bai Hu as well. I'm not sure if Max could make it but I'm sure Jared will want to be here," Raja thought on it, "That small mining city? I'm sure I can send out a summons. Though you'll need to tell me where I can find each of them so I can send the royal messenger properly." Raja explained. "Can I go to Bai Hu and do it!?" Ban asked excitedly, "I don't think that's a good idea Ban, Bai Hu isn't safe for young boys like you. I know from experience." Kemba said, Ban looked at him confused and tilted his head "Why?" He asked. "Ah hah...best just take my word for it okay?" Kemba replied. Cora shook his head, "Even if it wasn't you aren't going anywhere outside this palace. You know you can't go anywhere without an escort and a prince would bring much unwanted attention." Cora scolded. Ban pouted and went back to eating, Kaa sighed at his brothers outburst. Don finished his plate and got some more, "I can write the letters of invitation, I just learned calligraphy from Magi. My tail strokes are the finest in the kingdom." Don offered, "What is a calographe?" Ban asked. "It's a form of formal writing but you aren't anywhere near that level Ban." Kaa said. "I can write!" Ban said, "I didn't say you couldn't, you just aren't up to that level like Don and I. Though I admit calligraphy is not my finest subject." Kaa said taking another bite. "It must be nice knowing how to read and write, I didn't learn that growing up." Kemba said. Cora looked at them, "Bai Hu didn't teach you anything?" he asked. Kemba shook his head, "No. We were their to work and do nothing but, reading and writing were not needed." Kemba stated. "Perhaps you can join us during Magi's lessons." Kaa offered, "Yea yea yea yea!" Ban said nodding frivolously. "One more student couldn't hurt." Don said. Cora finished his breakfast patting his stomach as he moved to take a drink. He gulped it down and looked at Theos, "Given what Theos told me yesterday, it doesn't seem like he is skilled in the art of reading and writing. I will ask Magi to take you both on as students." Cora said. "I'd like that." Kemba said. "The best way to learn is through Magi and the royal library." Don stated. "I've heard of those. My village had one." Kemba said. "What village is that?" Kaa asked, "Oh it's not important." Kemba said. "Yes yes, finish up your food hatchlings." Raja asked, including Kemba. "Now Theos dear, it will be some time before I can finish the preparations for your coronation. We will have it some time this week I'm sure, much planning has to go into it after all. I hope you don't mind waiting." Raja exclaimed.

Cora poked Theos in the cheek with the tip of his claw, "That's fine Raja, I'm going to be spending time with Theos. Show him around the royal hall. Some quality time that went interrupted yesterday." Cora smiled at him. "Can we come!?" Ban asked, "Dad wants to spend time alone Ban." Don said with Kaa nodding in agreement. "Aw..." Ban said sitting down. "Next time Ban." Cora said patting Ban's head. "I could always hang out with you three while the king and Theos spend time together." Kemba said. "Yes!" Ban said leaping across the table tackling Kemba to the floor. "So fuzzy!" He said leaning his head against Kemba's belly. Kemba landed with an oomph and a laugh. Raja frowned at Ban, "Seriously Ban, what am I going to do with you? How ever did you get so hyper?" She said. "It's probably the water." Kaa said Don glared at Ban, "Or his brain." Kaa chuckled a little. Kemba patted Ban's head, "It's fine, he reminds me a bit of an Armadimon I once knew. Just a lot more energetic and uh...bigger." Kemba laughed as Ban got off of him. "Well as long as you're okay with it Kemba." Cora said. "Boys, why don't you and Kemba go scout out your room." Cora said. "Okay!" Ban said running off towards the door. "Alright then." Don leaped off and helped Kemba to his feet. "We will walk you to our room...like normal digimon." Don said beginning to head for the exit. Kaa met up with Kemba as he looked to Theos, "Have fun Theos and try not to think about anything but the bright future okay?" Kemba blew him a kiss and headed towards the door with Kaa at his side. Raja laughed, "The palace is going to get quite lively isn't it?" Cora nodded, "Yes it will." Raja walked over to Cora and leaned into him, "I'm happy for you to Cora." Raja said. Cora looked at her confusingly, "Theos has made you very happy, don't think I haven't noticed. It's like having Midas here again isn't it?" Raja asked. "Not at all. Midas is Midas and Theos is Theos. He's just family and I have a soft spot for family." Raja kissed Cora, "Uh huh, tell that to my mother the next time she comes to visit." Cora seemed mortified by that sentence, "Y-Yea..." Raja moved over to Theos leaning her snout down to him. "Take good care of Cora, he hasn't been this happy since Midas came thirteen years ago. You and Midas...you've burrowed your way into a part of his heart even I can't reach and it's a beautiful sight. Since you've gotten here, I've seen a Cora I have not seen in over a decade. You're truly something special Have fun Theos." Raja raised her head back up then looked at Cora winking at him, "Have fun dear." Raja headed for the exit.

"To take care of you cause I'm like Midas in your heart," Theos said looking at Cora. "I'd like to see most if not all of it. So i guess start at the garden and work our way out and up," Theos said his tail wagging. It would do him good to explore this place to its fullest.

"Alright then, I suppose we're off to see the room you'll be staying in...the royal wing is actually quite small believe it or not. You've already seen the bath and the throne room and the garden. Really in this wing that you haven't seen is my room, the triplets and Midas room." Cora said. "Since the triplets are playing with Kemba and Raja is likely in our room for business, that leaves Midas's room...or should we call it your room from now on?" Cora asked heading for the door.

"It was Midas first. I think it should stay his," Theos said smiling. Honesty he had never own anything so saying he owned something was odd on his tongue and mind. He relaxed on his head his from hooves sitting on the bridge of his nose. "I'd also like to see Sheila.....at some point," Theos said soberly. It bugged him beyond belief not knowing why. He also wondered what would become of her. "What do you plan to do with her," Theos said making small talk as they went down the hall.

Cora walked down the hall and thought on Theos request to see Sheila, "I can grant that request, but what will you say to her? She's serving a life sentence for her crimes. Do you wish to use your power to change her sentence?" Cora asked making a left down the hall towards Midas's room. "What do you expect to ask and how can you be sure she will tell you honestly?" Cora asked. "I know she put you through a lot, I just don't want you dwelling on pointless things. I'd like you to move forward, with us." Cora stated.

Theos frowned and thought a moment. "I just want to ask her what she had to gain from this. She may or may not tell me....but it wouldn't hurt to ask," Theos responded. Change her sentence? To have her live her life behind bars or to show mercy and kill her. "Is it safe to keep her alive? Her magic is pretty strong." Theos wasn't sure how strong Magis was but he didn't like the idea either way. And it wouldn't be pointless if she wasn't working alone. "I won't dwell I just want to make sure no one else gets hurt....because of me." As much as he hated to admit it he still held some blame for Dan as well. Now Kemba and Blake.....disaster seems to follow him.

"I just want to ask her what she had to gain from this. She may or may not tell me....but it wouldn't hurt to ask," Cora nodded. "Is it safe to keep her alive? Her magic is pretty strong." Cora nodded again, "Magi was able to steal her power. She can't cast powerful spells. Magi will need to do it every so often when it returns to keep her dry but it needs to be done." Cora said. "I won't dwell I just want to make sure no one else gets hurt....because of me." Cora smiled, "You sound like Midas, always carrying the world on your back. He never did learn to let his loved ones bear part of his burden. Promise me that you won't be like that, if not anyone else let me carry your burdens from now on. If the world should crumble around you, I'll hold it up with all of my strength. So, rely on me okay?" Cora said. "A royal cannot go back on their word got it?" Cora added.
