Meeting Midas?

The group of digimon caught Magi's attention and he immediately closed his tome. "I had a premonition you'd all come back again." Magi said, "Two whole hours before dinner even." Magi leaned back in his chair and smiled at them. "To what do I owe this delightful visit?" He asked. "We were wondering....could you find Midas and send him like a telepathic message," Magi chuckled at Theos request, "We figured magic could help us find Midas since it seems capable of almost anything." Kemba asked. "If anyone can find the King you can." Kaa added, his brothers nodding in agreement. "I'm a warlock not a psychic, I cannot reach into the minds of others. Well, not without proper materials anyway." Magi added. The boys all frowned, "Aw....that kind of sucks." Don said "Well we tried." Kaa added. "Wait a moment, I didn't say I couldn't help. I just said I cannot send telepathic messages with this request." Magi stood and made his way over to a shelf with different odd looking items inside jars and tomes laid out across it. "King Cora asked me to locate Midas early yesterday morning when Theos's existence was learned, I used locator spell to pinpoint his location and came up with the desert. The very one we are all living in. Midas, is in the desert somewhere. The kings men will find him, it's only a matter of time but with the size of this grand sandy domain it's possible it could take weeks or months." Magi pulled out a tome and brought it over to the boys opening it to a specific page. It's language was unknown but it had pictures of a digimon of the same kind and stance and a mirror. "I see, so you've already helped to locate him. I guess we can really only wait." Kemba said. Kaa walked over and looked at the book, "What is this?" Kaa asked. "This is a mirror world spell, it allows me to open up a dimension that mirrors this one in every single way but does not affect things in our realm. It takes an unbelievable amount of energy to perform, and a mirror." Magi answered. "Why bring that out?" Don asked. "Perhaps you can learn about Midas before the real one comes. I can send you to Coraggio in the mirror realm, the time when Cora and Midas were inseparable." Magi said. "Wouldn't the mirror world take us to the current time?" Kemba asked, Magi nodded "Yes, unless I open up a mirror realm to a past version by using an item from Midas when he lived here. Like.." Magi waved his hand around and Theos's crown appeared from a cloud of smoke. "Midas's old crown." Magi smiled. Ban wagged his tail getting excited where this was going. "What cost would this take? You said every magic comes with a price." Kemba questioned.

"Indeed, access to the mirror world will only last for twenty four hours. After that time, you must come back through the portal before it closes, if you don't you will be trapped there. I will not be able to perform the spell and bring you back for a year, you will be trapped reliving the same day." Magi stated. "That is scary!" Ban said his tail curling under his legs. "We will have to be sure to return then." Don said. "I think we're getting ahead of ourselves, this is Theos decision, not ours." Kaa said and looked at Theos. Kemba hugged him close and smiled, "It's your call!" Kemba said. Magi nodded, "I have more then enough magical power to perform this spell so do not be concerned for me."

So there was nothing he could do to hasten things "I see, so you've already helped to locate him. I guess we can really only wait." Theos nodded, "What is this?" Kaa asked. "This is a mirror world spell, it allows me to open up a dimension that mirrors this one in every single way but does not affect things in our realm. It takes an unbelievable amount of energy to perform, and a mirror." Magi answered. "Why bring that out?" Don asked. "Perhaps you can learn about Midas before the real one comes. A crown appeared one that had been left in the desert sand after he had chewed on it. "Midas's old crown." Which was looking worse for wear. "What cost would this take? You said every magic comes with a price." Kemba questioned.



"Indeed, access to the mirror world will only last for twenty four hours. After that time, you must come back through the portal before it closes, if you don't you will be trapped there. I will not be able to perform the spell and bring you back for a year, you will be trapped reliving the same day." Magi stated. "That is scary!" That was a terrifying thought. "We will have to be sure to return then." Don said. "I think we're getting ahead of ourselves, this is Theos decision, not ours." Theos was uncertain, "It's your call!" Kemba said. Magi nodded, "I have more then enough magical power to perform this spell so do not be concerned for me."


"Twenty hours here or there," Theos asked. If it was there they would probably be able to tell the time. "It wouldn't hurt I suppose. Though I've heard several stories already. I dunno what else I could learn. However nothing beats talking to the real deal," Theos said smiling a bit. His tail wagging.

Once a day has passed, the spell will weaken and the dimension will begin to reset, when that happens the path back to this realm will be closed. However, it's not impossible I can keep the dimension open for another twenty four hours. I will be entirely drained if it comes to that but I do have the ability. One thing you must remember, your time will be frozen in this dimension and nothing you alter in this past will effect the present. This does not make you immortal either, you can still be fatally wounded. Be very careful should you run into any trouble." Magi summoned forth a mirror and it began to hover off to the side. "The mirror versions you will meet are like the real ones in every possible way, so Theos the Midas you see and talk to although is a mirror image in body is the same Midas in mind. The same goes for Cora and even myself...it would be dangerous if the mirror me learned of you, if a mirror image becomes aware of itself it could be catastrophic. They have all the same abilities and the mirror me would be able to escape into this world, or worse. You must act like this world is the real one." Magi warned. "Stories are fun to hear, but being a part of them is even better...even if it's a false story the memory is irreplaceable." Kaa said to Theos. Kemba started to get excited, "I hope Midas isn't as cute as you, I may get you two confused." Kemba teased purring and nudging Theos with his elbow. "We're gonna meet young dad! I'm so PSYCHED!" Ban yelled with a jump. Don had a glimmer in his eye, "Indeed we are..." Kaa was mildly curious, "I wonder what kind of prince he was."

"It is a mirror world so be sure to have fun..though normally this spell is used for imprisonment...aw well." Magi said as he prepared the incantation. "Just to be sure, nothing we do there will effect this world right?" Don asked. "Correct. Nothing is real, just mirrored. You cannot effect the timeline." Magi stated, "So no penalties? Sounds good to me..." Don licked his snout. Kaa punched his arm, "Do not pick on dad!" Don rubbed it and frowned, "I won't....much." Ban was clapping and jumping and giggling. After the incantation the mirror became a glowing silver of light and expanded showing a Corragio on the other side. It was just outside the palace gate, "All right you guys, the portal is open! Have fun!" Magi said with a smile. "Theos, any final questions before going in?" Magi asked.

"It would be twenty four hours there. Once a day has passed, the spell will weaken and the dimension will begin to reset, when that happens the path back to this realm will be closed. Even false it was sure to make an impression on him, "I hope Midas isn't as cute as you, I may get you two confused." Theos doubted it but smiled anyway. He enjoyed being teased by Kemba. "We're gonna meet young dad! I'm so PSYCHED!" Ban yelled with a jump. Don had a glimmer in his eye, "Indeed we are..." Kaa was mildly curious, "I wonder what kind of prince he was."

"Nothing my father can't answer," Theos said smiling. He stepped for the mirror and took a deep breath he walked in feeling his reality shift around him. He opened his eyes after a moment not really remembering closing them. He was before the gate blinking.

Kemba nodded and looked at the triplets as Theos walked through, "Ready to see Prince Cora?" He said smiling, he turned and looked at the portal and took a deep breath before walking through it. Ban leaped in after Kemba and Don and Kaa were left, "Should be some fun times." Don said to Kaa which earned him a glare. "I'll be watching you carefully Don." Kaa warned. Don chuckled and walked in. "Thank you Magi! We will be back shortly." Kaa then followed. Magi nodded, "Quicker then you realize actually." With that, the group had made their way into a mirrored reflection of Coraggio from over two decades ago.

Kemba and the triplets anxiously waited for Theos to come back from the mirror world, Magi had his hand up to the mirror portal keeping it open. "What is taking the prince so long?" Magi asked, "Midas said he wanted to talk to Theos before we left. We have no idea what it's about." Kemba replied. "I find it curious that a mirror image would seek out a private audience with Theos." Magi stated, "Mirror image?" Kaa questioned, "Yes....all that world was, was a reflection of this one. My magic created a realistic illusion that followed a point in time." Magi explained.

Just then, Theos would come through and was greeted by smiling faces, "Theos! Welcome back!" Ban said, "Did Midas leave you with something?" Kemba asked. Magi closed the portal and the mirror levitated slowly to the floor behind Theos, he remained silent a moment. "Did he become self aware?" Magi asked. "Well...he found out we were from the future if that is what you mean." Kaa stated. "I see my magic spell's ability was misinterpreted..." Magi stated, "What does that mean?" Don asked, Magi shook his head. "Nothing."

He looked at Theos, "I won't ask what happened, but...I'm sure it was not an easy thing to do. Leaving after learning the truth." Magi said. Kemba was worried now, "What is he talking about? What happened after we left?" He asked.

"Theos! Welcome back!" Ban said, "Did Midas leave you with something?" Theos nodded with a sad smile. "Did he become self aware?" Magi asked. "Well...he found out we were from the future if that is what you mean." Kaa stated. "I see my magic spell's ability was misinterpreted..." Magi stated, "What does that mean?" Don asked, Magi shook his head. "Nothing."



He looked at Theos, "I won't ask what happened, but...I'm sure it was not an easy thing to do. Leaving after learning the truth." Magi said. Kemba was worried now, "What is he talking about? What happened after we left?" He asked.




"The mirror world disappears," Theos said. "It wasn't our world we couldn't have stayed," Theos said looking to Magi. "It wasn't hard to leave. You said time would repeat each day would be harder than the last if we had stayed. We have a job to do here in our time. And we will do it," Theos said as much to convince Magi as it was to convince himself. They had a goal and he had to look towards the future. He'd never forget them though. Maybe he should start a biography so that all these things could be remembered throughout time.

"The mirror world disappears, It wasn't our world we couldn't have stayed, It wasn't hard to leave. You said time would repeat each day would be harder than the last if we had stayed. We have a job to do here in our time. And we will do it, The boys all looked at Theos with disbelief. "What does that mean!?" Kaa shouted, "It means that without anyone to be shown the illusion, the illusion fades away." Magi stated. "Then Midas and Cora are...?" Ban said tearing up,

Magi shook his head "Alive. Those were only illusions, they never existed. You merely spent a moment of a reflected time, otherwise you wouldn't be here would you?" Magi added. Kemba clenched his paw, "Even still...they were so real. They were our friends! Was there anyway to save them!?" Kemba yelled with welled eyes. Magi sighed, "If you grew so close to an illusion, then it did it's job. The two digimon you became friends with were what the real ones used to be. Cora and Midas of this world, although older, are no different." Magi stated.

"I'm sure even if we could have taken the mirror versions from their realm, it would cause serious complications here in this one." Don added, Magi nodded in agreement "Yes, mirror reflections should not ever leave their realm. That's why I told you to stay away from my own reflection. Although the people inside were illusions, the memories and things you learned there will remain. That was the goal of all this wasn't it? To learn about Midas so that you could find him? So then...did you learn anything? You mentioned you had a job to do. I assume you learned an important clue?" Magi asked. Immediately the boys all seemed to cheer up and the atmosphere around them changed, it was firm and determined. It caught Magi a little by surprised. It was interesting. He waited for Theos to speak up.

"Midas mentioned a cave that he and my grandfather lived in before coming here. He didn't remember its location but he could have found it again from memory," Theos said looking to Magi. "Our job isn't only to find him though. I want to complete his and my grandfathers work. To build Paradise here in Coraggio with Cora's help and theirs." Theos looked to the triplets smiling slightly. After all it was their kingdom they had to do the hardest part of the work.

"Midas mentioned a cave that he and my grandfather lived in before coming here. He didn't remember its location but he could have found it again from memory," Theos said looking to Magi. "Our job isn't only to find him though. I want to complete his and my grandfathers work. To build Paradise here in Coraggio with Cora's help and theirs." Magi gave a smirk, "Is that right? Well, it looks like a new age for Coraggio is about to come to fruition if you meet your goal. You have my support young princes, I have always served this cities crown and I will continue to do so. After King Gale, I've seen this city change exponentially for the better and it seems it will only continue." Magi bowed.

"I will do my part and locate Midas. Now that I know what I'm looking for, I should have his location in just a matter of time." Magi said, he stood looking at them. "Now that you've completed your task here, what will you do?" Kemba looked at Theos, "Hmm...good question. What indeed...until we know where Midas is, I suppose we can't really do much." Kaa nodded, "Yes, well...It has been quite an adventure. We've only just met today, but it feels like we've really drawn close to one another." Kaa said. Don chuckled, "Technically, counting the mirror world, two days." Kaa shrugged, "I suppose but we couldn't perceive time in there."

"I'm counting it!" Ban said. Kemba wrapped his arm around Kaa, "I'm counting it too. I don't care if its one hour or twenty hours, the time we spent is irreplaceable! I'll have your cute face burned into my memory forever." He teased, Kaa turned red "I-I'd rather we not talk about it."

"Well, I've had all the fun I can take for one afternoon. You all can wear a mon down, I'm just going to curl up with a book until dinner." Don said heading for the door. "Since our Paradise is not reachable at this current time, let me know if you need me for anything." Don bowed his head and took his leave. "Five units he goes and thinks about Cole all afternoon." Kaa whispered to Ban who laughed. "Well, I'm gonna go play in the garden and maybe take a nap! I had a lot of fun and I want to help anyway I can for our dream kingdom so if you need me just call!" Ban hugged Kemba, Kaa, and Theos and bowed his head to Magi before running off.

Kaa looked at Kemba and Theos, "As heir I want to be involved as much as I can, so I'll stay alongside you two. My brothers are pretty much sated with the day, so I'm sure I don't need to watch them." Kaa said, Kemba smiled "We'd love having you around." Kaa smiled back, "So then what do we do? Where do we start?" Kaa asked.

Magi shook his head, "Honestly, I don't know how you'll do it but I'll be here to support. I recommend taking it slow and just living. Answers will come in time." Magi turned and walked back to a shelf and put the mirror on it. "Should you need my advice or specialties, I'll be here and I will alert you the moment Midas is located. Now if you'll excuse me, I must prepare for my afternoon wash." Magi turned and walked into the backroom.

Kemba looked at Theos, "It's your call as to what we do from here...it's the first time I actually don't know what to do. Everything is so...I don't know....calm here." Kemba added. Kaa crossed his arms, "Judging by the clock, dinner is going to be within the next hour or so." Kaa said.

Theos waved to each sibling as they left. It was true there was little they can do right now. Which left them with what could they do? If they were to turn this place into a paradise for his kind. Letting Cora know would be wise Theos doubted he would have any objections. He guessed right now all they could do was make preperations to create a place of living for his kind. Which meant building places his kind would thrive in. Perhaps their own section in the city. Which would mean a lot of building  and ever expanding the walls around the city. That was going to be a lot of time, money and work.

"We should probably fill Cora in on our thoughts He is King after all," Theos said. "Is he still going to be in the throne room?"
