Kemba looked around and could not notice a difference in this realm from the one they were just a part of, "Strange, I felt weird stepping through but after that it is almost like we transported outside." Kemba said. Ban was looking around frantically, "Daaaaaaaaaaad!" He called out, "Daaaaad where are yooooou!" Ban yelled. Kaa walked up and grabbed his mouth holding it closed, "Shush Ban! We're in the past, Dad and Mom haven't even met yet let alone know they'll be parents. The day is just starting as well...at this point I'm sure they're eating breakfast." Kaa said releasing Ban's mouth who grabbed it in place of Kaa's claws to keep it closed. "Nothing looks any different. Guess nothing has changed much." Don said looking around. "The drawbridge to the palace is up so how do we get in?" Kemba asked. "That is simple." Don responded and looked at Theos, "Midas here will get us inside. He's a crowned prince after all, all he has to do is talk to the Tuskmon guard." Kaa nodded, "Yes they do look identical in a way. Though different colored eyes and a full ear may be troublesome." Kaa responded. Don shook his head and crossed his arms, "You give the guards to much credit, Tuskmon are notoriously dim witted creatures. Theos will be able to fool them in every way." Don said feeling confident. Kemba looked at Theos, "I believe in ya, besides it will be a wasted trip if we can't get in after all." Ban nodded in agreement. The Tuskmon guarding the lever to lower the drawbridge was still half asleep standing up with his arms crossed and eyes closed; a slight snore erupting out of him. Don urged Theos on with a slight push, "Go get'em Midas." Don said. Dantelion |

He called out, "Daaaaad where are yooooou!" Theos winced and looked around to see if anyone noticed, "Shush Ban! We're in the past, Dad and Mom haven't even met yet let alone know they'll be parents. The day is just starting as well...at this point I'm sure they're eating breakfast." Theos chuckled a bit. "Nothing looks any different. Guess nothing has changed much." Theos had to agree. He just had to carry himself correctly, "Go get'em Midas." Don said.
Theos puffed his chest out a bit and started walking forward. He approached the sleepy Tuskmon with an air of authority. Even though inside he was quaking like a leaf. Who knew what would happen if he failed.
"Let down the bridge," he commanded keeping a stern posture. He was probably trying too hard.

The Tuskmon looked at the approaching pup weary and uncrossed his arms, "Midas? What are you doing outside the castle at this hour?" The deep bellowed carnivore said, his snout moved down and he sniffed Theos. "Your scent....is off." The Tuskmon said, "How did you get out here anyway? The drawbridge has been up this entire time." He asked. Theos was off to a rough start, he looked at the group behind Theos and squinted his eyes, "I must be seeing things, I see three Prince Cora's....perhaps it is not you who I should be concerned for but my own health...." The Tuskmon said, believing he was ill. Don nudged Theos, "There is your window! Run with it!" He whispered. Everyone else smiling with bright white teeth.

"Midas? What are you doing outside the castle at this hour?" Theos insides churned in nervousness. "Your scent....is off." The Tuskmon said, "How did you get out here anyway? The drawbridge has been up this entire time." Theos looked up at him, "I must be seeing things, I see three Prince Cora's....perhaps it is not you who I should be concerned for but my own health...." He was far from ill, "There is your window! Run with it!"
Theos had a better thought. He could keep up this facade a little longer. "Come now surely even you know about my mastery of climbing. I could easily climb over these walls," Theos said acting exasperated. "Your nose is probably stuffed from snorting sand while sleeping on the job. Now my friends and Cora's Noble cousins can't climb as well as me. So let down the bridge and I won't tell the King he has lax guards," Theos said smiling a bit at the end. He didn't doubt that no guard wanted to be reprimanded by the King. Not from what he heard from Cora anyway.

So let down the bridge and I won't tell the King he has lax guards," The Tuskmon glared at Theos and raised his heavy head and looked to the tower with the bridge controls and waved his claw. In response, the drawbridge came down with a loud grinding of metal and creaking of wood until it slammed into the ground. "Forgive my insolence Prince Midas. Have a good day." The Tuskmon spoke out, the bridge was down and passage to the palace was at hand. Kaa began to grown nervous, "My heart feels like it's going to beat out of my chest! What should I even say to dad when we meet? He's probably so noble and upright." Ban chuckled, "I bet he's like me!" Don stroked his chin, "I wonder if he still has a perfect body." Kaa and Ban looked at their brother questioningly and Don looked at them, "Oh come now, don't be ridiculous. I'm proud of my genes, I can't admire my father?" Don puffed and Ban chuckled once more. "You can admire him without being weird about it." Kaa said. Kemba shook his head at the brothers and looked at Theos, "Good job pretending to be Midas, you had me fooled to. Have you thought about what you're going to say to him?" Kemba asked as the group made their way towards the palace. "I feel a little out of place to be honest." Kemba said giving a nervous look. "You all have someone to meet here, I'm kinda just hanging out with you."

He motioned the bridge down. Theos felt relief, "Forgive my insolence Prince Midas. Have a good day." Theos started across the bridge with the others a sigh of relief filling him, "My heart feels like it's going to beat out of my chest! What should I even say to dad when we meet? He's probably so noble and upright." Ban chuckled, "I bet he's like me!" Don stroked his chin, "I wonder if he still has a perfect body." Theos was still busy coming down from his adrenaline high. He had no idea how had manage to pull that off. He had acted noble but now that he thought about it...his father seemed more kind. Threatening to report him for sleeping on the job would Midas really do that, "Oh come now, don't be ridiculous. I'm proud of my genes, I can't admire my father?" Don puffed and Ban chuckled once more. "You can admire him without being weird about it." Theos kept his gaze ahead, "Good job pretending to be Midas, you had me fooled to. Have you thought about what you're going to say to him?" What he was going to say...he wondered if he could be honest with him. He wouldn't remember it anyway but he wondered how he would react to know he would abandon his son. "I feel a little out of place to be honest." Kemba said giving a nervous look. "You all have someone to meet here, I'm kinda just hanging out with you."
"Well my father with technically be your step-father so you do have someone," Theos chuckled. No doubt such a revelation would make Kemba a bit nervous. "But I dunno what I'm going to say. I want to come out and tell him who I am. Find out how he would respond to it all. But this never really happens and he won't remember it. The him now.... isn't the same as the child in this mirror world. Digimon change...." Theos rambled. He hated to admit it but he wasn't sure he wanted to know any more. Still they were here so he should at least try. But the answers he wanted....this version. He wouldn't know.

She told me that the me now, the kid Kaa, was the true me and that when we get older the kids we used to be become sowed deep within our hearts. Our innocence never truly goes away, we just need to reflect on it every now and then to remember ourselves. She said that my dad is the same as he was back when he was younger. He held on to his past and the things he learned and it made him better. I hope that makes sense." Kaa said worried it sounded more like a riddle then a revelation. Kemba nodded, "What you're saying is, the Midas here is the real Midas?" Kemba said. "I think what my brother is trying to say is, this Midas is pure and innocent and the Midas of our time may be physically different but will always have this Midas buried within." Don added catching up. "That's right and knowing this Midas and Dad, is knowing their heart and no matter how time may warp them, if we know that we can always reach them." Ban said. Kaa, Don and Kemba nearly tripped over themselves looking at him surprised and a little proud, Ban stuck his tongue out with a smile, "I can be smart sometimes." The boys all laughed as they approached the plaza.
"Did that help you feel any better Theos?" Kaa asked.

It made an odd sort of sense. Maybe he was simply thinking too much, "I can be smart sometimes."
"Did that help you feel any better Theos?" Kaa asked.
"Yes, thank you guys," Theos said smiling. "Well since they are probably eating breakfast we could probably catch them where they normally went to play afterwards," Though where that was Theos had no idea. He looked to Kaa. Cora mentioned the courtyard as a place where everyone went he wasn't sure they would go there to play or maybe one of their rooms.

Kemba asked. Ban looked troubled and Don stroked his chin Kaa perked up, "I know just where they'll go!" Kaa said. Theos smiled his tail wagging as they headed into the palace.
