Mirror World - Secret Room

"Actually Magi sent us through a mirror. At the end of the day you will go to sleep and time will rewind erasing all this. Whatever happens here won't effect the future," Midas looked perplexed, "We are free to talk as openly as we want. I dunno what I was expecting in meeting you but I am glad I came just the same," Midas snickered, "A mirror? That is a weird way to time travel, but to forget the events of today? I don't think you grasp how time works. Magi is a powerful warlock but even he can't freely manipulate time." Midas had a twinkle in his eye and creepily grinned at Theos, "If you say I'm going to forget everything I may do stuff I shouldn't to such a cute son." Midas leaped his forelegs falling over Theos back, he looked at him and smiled. "Did I get you flustered?" He laughed, Theos would remember from "Even if what you say is true, I'd rather Cora not know. Like I said, he is my precious one and I need to protect him from things he won't understand." Midas thought a moment and nudged Theos with his nose on his cheek, "I guess with this new information, you're my precious one now to." Midas said giggling happily. He leaped off and chased his tail once before excitedly wagging his tail looking at Theos approaching him. "I want to know everything about you! What makes you, you and in return you can ask anything of me and I'll tell you what I can." Midas said playfully pulling at Theos's ear. Midas was still a kid after all. Kemba looked on and smiled, he was happy that Midas and Theos had settled whatever problem they were facing. "Hey look at Theos!" Ban said pointing, Cora held the ball and looked over and truthfully grew a little jealous. "Looks like they're having fun..." Cora said with a frown. Kaa wrapped his arm around Cora, "Don't worry Cora, we meant what we said. We really did come to learn about you." Cora looked at Kaa. "I don't understand why though..." Cora said. "It's because we admire you. Don't ask us how or why, but we really do." Don said. Ban nodded, "Yea! Midas isn't the only one who can care for you." Cora felt flustered, a purplish hue appearing in his brown cheeks. "O-okay....that makes me...feel good." Cora said smiling.

Kemba smiled at them as well, "I'm happy for you all. I really am." Kemba stated. Kaa moved over to Kemba, "You don't feel left out do you?" Kaa asked worryingly, Kemba happily shook his head "How could I possibly feel anything but joy from all of this? I'm seeing the people I love with my very soul happy as happy can be. There is no need to worry about me at all." Kemba said petting Kaa's head. Kaa smiled and hugged Kemba tight, Kemba was caught off guard a moment but recovered rather quickly and pet his head. Kaa gave him one last smile before returning to playing ball with his brothers and young father. Kemba turned to watch Theos and Midas.

"A mirror? That is a weird way to time travel, but to forget the events of today? I don't think you grasp how time works. Magi is a powerful warlock but even he can't freely manipulate time." Theos thought about it. he said the same day would repeat over and over. He had just pulled a single point in time. He was right about one thing he didn't understand it well. Time was far too complex, "If you say I'm going to forget everything I may do stuff I shouldn't to such a cute son." Theos raised a brow looking over his shoulder at him. "Did I get you flustered?" Theos chuckled, "Even if what you say is true, I'd rather Cora not know. Like I said, he is my precious one and I need to protect him from things he won't understand." Theos nodded in understanding, "I guess with this new information, you're my precious one now to." Theos watched him in amusement the thought of pouncing on him entering his head. "I want to know everything about you! What makes you, you and in return you can ask anything of me and I'll tell you what I can." Theos head went with his ear. He reared up some his one hoof wrapping around him in a half hug and his mouth nibbling at Midas own ear tip as his tail wagged.

"Deal," Theos said chuckling. "Since your older you should go first," Theos said teasingly. "Ask what ever you want."

Midas leaned into Theos as he bit at his ear, it twitched with each playful bite. "Ask whatever I want hmm?" He said thinking. "Okay, so why Kemba? Tell me your story, how did he become important enough that you'd choose him?" Midas pushed himself underneath Theos to his other side and nipped playfully at his face. Jumping slightly from the ground, his tail wagging in response. Kemba quite enjoyed watching the two, it was akin to watching a pair of siblings play. He watched quietly, as the two smiled and spoke. Meanwhile, the triplets and Cora tossed the ball in a circle as they spoke, "So Cora besides King Gale being a tyrant what is it like for you?" Don asked. Cora thought, "I dunno really...I guess trying to learn how to be a king. I don't have brothers or sisters so I'm naturally the heir." He answered. "How about your studies and combat?" Kaa asked. Cora shrugged, "I do my best. Magi is a good teacher...Midas says I'm a natural fighter. I always beat him in a sparring match but I think he holds back." Cora said. Kaa and Don chuckled, if Cora only knew he actually was a good fighter. "It must be nice having Midas around." Ban mentioned. Cora's face lit up, "Yes! He's the closest thing I have to a real brother. He's always looking out for me and protecting me. It feels easier to make it through the day when he's around." Don grinned fiendishly, "Sounds like you two may be closer then brothers." Kaa and Ban glared at Don who received the ball very hard in his face as a present from Kaa. Don's head snapped back as he made a guttural sound; his glasses slightly shifting. He shook his head as he held the ball pouting at Kaa, Cora was flustered at the response, "I-I don't mean it to come across like that! Honest! He's just....the only person in my life that I'm not scared of." Cora explained. "It's okay, we understand. We know you two are just close...Don is an idiot." Kaa explained which calmed Cora down. "We three have someone we can rely on to." Ban said. Kaa nodded, "Just like Midas...we rely on Theos. He's our eldest brother." Kaa explained. Cora chuckled, "So we really are alike...only Theos has it harder it seems." Don shook his head, "Well...maybe when considering Ban." Ban pouted. The three laughed as they continued to play.

"Ask whatever I want hmm?" He said thinking. "Okay, so why Kemba? Tell me your story, how did he become important enough that you'd choose him?" Theos moved his face away slightly letting his playful nip graze his cheek. He postioned himself like he was prowling then jumped after Midas. Not quite aiming to land on him but more to chase hip with a hopping skip. "Bai Hu is a terrible place. If you life there you either work or suffer punishment. The children are all forced to work the mines. KoDokugumon and their evolutions roam its halls. I met Kemba there along with an Armadimon named Dan. We worked together and became fast friends," Theos paused watching his father a moment. "Dan was killed by the spider Queen Ara. After that we consoled one another and our friendship simply grew. Before we knew it we were mates," Theos looked over to Kemba and smiled a bit. "I wouldn't have made it this far without him," Theos said his tail started wagging again and he jumped over Midas turning to nuzzle his cheek playfully before ducking away.

"What about you. How have you managed to stay still for so long," Theos asked. He really needed to know. Instincts said keep moving and yet his heart said stay. He was going to fight those very instincts as best he could. He didn't doubt family and love was the key.

Midas walked up to Theos and pressed his head against Theos's own, it seemed they had that in common when expressing themselves to another. "A dad is supposed to look out for his son, and it sounds like I did the exact opposite and it makes me so mad." Midas pulled away, "What about you. How have you managed to stay still for so long," Midas sat down and brought his back hoof up and scratched an itch behind his ear, "Hmm...well that's simple. I'm able to ignore my instincts because of my heart." Midas stood and looked at Cora, "Cora keeps me here, firm and planted. As long as he needs my protection I'll stay. That and...knowing my dad is going to come back here to get me one day." Midas stood back up and lowered his torso and head to the ground with his butt hanging in the air, his tail wagging back and forth. "Those instincts eventually got suppressed and I don't even consider the notion any longer. Trying to imagine my life without Cora in it, is hard for me. I love Cora and I still love my dad and this place connects them both." Midas leaped at Theos again trying to hang around his shoulders. "Now it has you, if even for a day, if that annoyingly persistent urge to flee rears it's head. Just continue to find a reason to ignore it, instincts can be buried and forgotten through the passage of time. Mine was." Midas laughed.

"Okay, my turn again...hmm....what should I ask?" Midas planted his head on Theos back as he thought, "Are you and Kemba settled into the palace in your time? Or are you still a wanderer?" Midas asked leaping off and moving around to Theos face nipping at his bottom jaw.

"I'm sorry...it's my fault isn't it? If older me hadn't left you at our birthplace...you never would have had to go through all of that." He couldn't have known all that would happen. Theos sure as hell didn't. "A dad is supposed to look out for his son, and it sounds like I did the exact opposite and it makes me so mad." There was still time. "Yes we are for the most part. You should have seen my face when I found out I was a prince. I'm sure Cora found it hysterical," Theos said chuckling. "I'm going to throw away my instincts as well. You know....maybe this place is the Paradise our kind have sought for so long. We just kept passing it by," Theos said his tail playfully patting his face as he wormed under his nose to the other side.

I know I don't have any problem with it now so I doubt the older me will." Midas exclaimed. "Anything else you want to ask me about?" Midas asked. "I'll answer anything you can think of! No holds barred!" Midas said. "We're going to have to head back to the palace soon, so if you need time to think we can talk later. I wanna make sure I help you in any way I can." Midas said. "As your dad it's my responsibility! I can even teach you about the birds and the bees.............as soon as I learn it myself. Magi tells us that he's dreading that class whatever it is. I figure if an adult dreads that class then it's probably something that I should teach my kids!" Midas said nodding his head once in acceptance.

"Cora crowned you did he? I can't really see him as a king yet." Theos leaned his head in and nipped at his jaw line, "Perhaps in your time it can be Theos. I know I don't have any problem with it now so I doubt the older me will." Midas exclaimed. "Anything else you want to ask me about?" Midas asked. "I'll answer anything you can think of! No holds barred!" Midas said. "We're going to have to head back to the palace soon, so if you need time to think we can talk later. I wanna make sure I help you in any way I can." Midas said. "As your dad it's my responsibility! I can even teach you about the birds and the bees.............as soon as I learn it myself. Magi tells us that he's dreading that class whatever it is. I figure if an adult dreads that class then it's probably something that I should teach my kids!" Theos chuckled.

Well...I think I'm still young and naive but, I dream of my family being together every day and every night. Living either under one roof or traveling together. Sharing secrets and just enjoying each other's company. Kinda like right now." Midas said. Cora ran over to Midas with a huff, "Midas it's almost noon. We've spent the whole morning in here, dad must be going bonkers!" Cora said worryingly. Midas jumped up in surprise, "Noon! Where did the time go? We gotta go!" Midas said. Kemba and the triplets approaching from behind, "King Gale needs you?" Kemba asked. "We're not supposed to be outside past a certain time and noon is way to late!" Cora explained, Midas nodded. "Yes we need to get going, you're free to stay here or follow us. I'm going to introduce Theos to the King, that should gain him palace entrance and in turn, by Theos request, the rest of you." Midas said, Cora was already crawling through the crawlspace towards the plaza. Midas went to follow, "It was fun guys." Midas smiled and followed after Cora.

Kemba looked at Theos, "Well you two looked to hit it off. Have fun? Did you get anything out of it?" Kemba asked. Kaa crossed his arms and thought, "I never would have imagined dad so timid, boy does he change like the seasons." Don laughed, "He still has a perfect body though, I want it." Don said, earning a look from his brothers and Kemba. "I meant...I want a body just like his....you guys know he's my dad right?" Don said pouting. Ban shook his head, "Anyway, I had a lot of fun playing with him. Do we have to go back so soon?" Ban asked. Kemba shook his head, "We have twenty four hours to spend with them remember? We have twelve left before we have to leave. It's just a matter of getting into the palace to spend it with them." Kemba said, Don looked at Theos "Then that is a job for our resident Theowmon. If anyone can get us inside, it's Theos and Midas." Don stated. The brothers agreeing, "Sounds like Midas was going to introduce you." Kemba said. Just then, they heard yelling from the plaza. "Someone's yelling." Kaa pointed out Kemba frowned, "You don't think it's the King yelling do you?" Don looked at Theos, "Could you go check? Being a Theowmon it'd be easier for you to get away with hiding then us." Don asked.

If Theos decided not to, Kemba would go, but if he did Theos would hear the conversation just before poking his head out of the crawlspace. He could peak out and see, a very large Spinomon, not in size but in muscle. He was grim looking and sounded mean. Theos could tell this was King Gale, and he could not be any more different in both appearance and attitude from King Cora. Midas's tail was tucked beneath his legs and his ears drooped back as he looked at the towering King. Cora was in front, shaking like a leaf, "You are bold enough to disobey me but when I try to form you into the perfect King you are a coward! What good is a prince if he refuses to learn from his King!?" Gale roared, the plaza shaking. "I'm sorry father...." Cora said with a broken voice. "Those seem to be your favorite words of late Cora, you always manage to disappoint me!" Cora was to afraid to make eye contact and this angered Gale. "Look at me when I speak to you!" Gale's tail raised up and the tip lashed Cora in the face, knocking him hard to the ground. A splatter of blood staining the ground, and a tooth knocked out. Cora let out a cry of pain when it lashed and Midas winced and let out a whimper, "Get up Cora! Can you not even withstand a gentle hit?" Gale yelled. Tears dripping to the cobblestone as his face throbbed. Gale reached down and pulled his son up forcefully, "I said get up boy!" Gale yelled. "Stop your crying or I'll really give you something to cry about!" Gale barked. Cora tried to force himself to stop. "Now if you disobey me again, I will lash you twice as hard do I make myself clear boy!?" Gale yelled bearing his teeth, blue embers sparking from his maw. "Yes..." Cora broodingly said. Gale lifted his tail and smacked Cora again, but on the opposite side, knocking him to the floor. "Yes what!?" Gale said looming over the laid out Cora. "Yes....your majesty..." Gale scoffed and spat on Cora the heated saliva slightly burning Cora's small frame. "You're unfit to wear the crown. Now pick yourself up, and march yourself to your room and do NOT let me see you leave it." Gale looked at Midas and glared but said nothing. The King turned and disappeared from sight. Cora began to weep as he curled himself up into a ball. Midas walked over and leaned out over Cora trying to dry his body with his own, the heat hardening Midas's clay a bit. "Shh...don't cry Cora...I'm here." Midas teared up himself, unable to contain himself at Cora's silent exhales.

"How I want my family to be? Well...I think I'm still young and naive but, I dream of my family being together every day and every night. Living either under one roof or traveling together. Theos nodded. He crawled through the dark tunnel and peaked out. His ears flush against his head at the sound. His eyes narrowed in discontent as well. Theos watched the scene before him with pursed lips and raised hackles. His mouth souring at the sight, "You are bold enough to disobey me but when I try to form you into the perfect King you are a coward! What good is a prince if he refuses to learn from his King!?" Gale roared, the plaza shaking. "I'm sorry father...." Cora said with a broken voice. "Those seem to be your favorite words of late Cora, you always manage to disappoint me!" Gale lifted his tail and smacked Cora again, but on the opposite side, knocking him to the floor. "Yes what!?" Gale said looming over the laid out Cora. "Yes....your majesty..." Theos throat rumbled again his body hunching lower into the hole. No doubt looking like a cat ready to pounce on its prey. "You're unfit to wear the crown. Now pick yourself up, and march yourself to your room and do NOT let me see you leave it." Theos slowly pulled himself from the hole as Gale disappeared out of sight. "Shh...don't cry Cora...I'm here."

"Jackass," Theos growled. In the end even he couldn't have done anything however. There was no way he could fight King Gale. It didn't stop him from wanting to dance on his grave after this spectacle though. Theos approached nuzzling them both. His heart aching at their shared sadness. He now knew how his father felt after each punishment he witnessed. It was amazing though that neither had turned sour. All because they had one another...

Midas licked Cora's face, cleaning it of blood and tears. Midas looked at the approaching Theos and gave half a smile "I wish you didn't hear or see that. Cora's father...is a terrifying figure....every time I try to tell myself to act...I cower instead and Cora gets the pain from my weakness." Midas looked at Theos, his eyes glossed over from the tears still within. "Pretty lame dad you have huh?" He whispered. Kemba and the triplets came out when the yelling had stopped. "CORA!" The three said in unison rushing over to find him in this sad state. Kaa became immediately upset, "Who hurt Cora! Was it the King? I'll burn him to cinders!" Kaa yelled blue embers sparking from his mouth. Don was equally upset and Ban was teary eyed. "King Gale can't do that to Cora! What has he ever done?" Don yelled. Ban nuzzled his face into Cora's chest, "Don't cry...." Ban begged. Kemba looked at Theos, "We should probably avoid the King, the last thing we need is getting hurt by him." Midas looked at them, "King Gale is ruthless but he still respects Theowmon, Theos and I are the only safe ones here. You two need to keep your mouths shut, should anyone here that you'll be executed for treason." Midas moved over and nuzzled Cora's face, "Come now Cora, we need to get you into your room. If the King comes back, things will get a lot worse." Midas urged. Cora stirred, calming down his eyes red and nose sniffling. "I'm sorry Midas.....I did it again." Cora said. Midas shook his head, "I'm the one who should be sorry. I still can't bring myself to stop your dad, I'm a terrible brother." Midas said allowing Cora to lean on him for support. Cora shook his head, "N-No....you're the best...." Cora said. Midas looked at the group, "I'm going to take Cora to his room, I'll meet you here shortly." Midas said walking Cora inside the palace.

Kaa blew steam from his nostrils, "I will cut down King Gale! Time can't be hurt here right!? So I'm gonna kill him for hurting dad!" Kaa said beginning to storm off into the palace. Kemba grabbed him by his tail pulling him back, "No, you're not Kaa. We may be untouched by time here but we can still be fatally wounded. You're going after King Gale who I'm certain is no weakling to lose to a hot head like you." Kemba said. Kaa glared, "So we just let him get away with that!?" Kaa yelled. "I agree with Kaa! That's our father he hurt! We can't just idly sit by and let him hurt dad!" Don added. Ban nodding wiping his eyes. "Don't get so caught up that you forget where we are. All of this already happened, and Cora is going to be fine. No reason to get killed over something that works out in the end." Kemba explained. "Sure but....it's still hard to see dad cry." Kaa said. "We're at the mercy of Midas and Theos, we'll wind up dead and this trip a waste if we do anything rash. I trust Theos, you should to. He's your older brother." The triplets looked at one another and back at Theos. "Dad told you stories right? Do you know which one this is?" Don asked.

"I will cut down King Gale! Time can't be hurt here right!? So I'm gonna kill him for hurting dad!" Theos jumped in front of him and held him back while Kemba pulled, "No, you're not Kaa. We may be untouched by time here but we can still be fatally wounded. You're going after King Gale who I'm certain is no weakling to lose to a hot head like you." Kemba said. Kaa glared, "So we just let him get away with that!?" Kaa yelled. "I agree with Kaa! That's our father he hurt! We can't just idly sit by and let him hurt dad!" Don added. Ban nodding wiping his eyes. "Don't get so caught up that you forget where we are. All of this already happened, and Cora is going to be fine. No reason to get killed over something that works out in the end." Kemba explained. "Sure but....it's still hard to see dad cry." Kaa said. "We're at the mercy of Midas and Theos, we'll wind up dead and this trip a waste if we do anything rash. I trust Theos, you should to. He's your older brother." The triplets looked at one another and back at Theos. "Dad told you stories right? Do you know which one this is?" Don asked.


"It kind of sounds like the time Midas....my dad lost his ear defending him. He said that he had been beaten pretty badly that day and that he stepped in," Theos looked to the palace. "I can't be sure though. I mean we did sort of keep them. For all we know this was suppose to be a normal day for them," Theos frowned. Maybe it was maybe it wasn't. It was hard to be sure. From what he heard there was a lot of days where Gale beat him for one thing or another. Theos had no idea.

"Right now we should remain out here though. Like Midas said," Theos said. "I hate to say it but doing anything more might make things worse. If we don't want to see Cora hurt or one another we have to think at least a little logically. We'd never be able to take on Gale," Theos ssaid looking back to them. "It's better we look after then by looking after ourselves. Cora wouldn't want to see any of you hurt when we return. And it would surely get Magi in trouble because he let us do this."

We're here to learn about Midas and Cora, not interfere in events that cannot be changed. Your protection is our priority." Kemba added. Kaa Don and Ban sighed, "We understand." Kaa said. About five minutes passed and out came Midas, "I told Cora I'd come back with you guys. You've made an impression on him. I managed to stop the bleeding from his mouth, he'll be fine. He's gotten it worse in the past, he's very strong to continually disobey Gale just to be with me. I have to think of something to protect him." Midas sighed, "In any case, Theos, are you ready to meet King Gale?" Midas asked. Kemba looked at him, "I can try to sneak in to protect you just in case." Midas shook his head, "No. We don't need any more incidents today, Theos is my son and I'll take responsibility for him." Midas said. All four of them looked surprised, "You told Midas!?" Kemba exclaimed. "Magi warned us about telling them!" Don added.

Midas snickered, "Chill guys, I can keep a secret. Honestly, you all didn't really think it through. The triplets scent gave it away, they smell identical to Cora." Midas turned and headed for the entrance. "One thing I know for sure, Gale will not harm either of us. It's against the royalty code. You can be sure Theos will be fine." Midas said. Kemba pouted and crossed his arms, "This is crazy." Kemba said looking at Theos. "Just say the word and I'll come with you. I don't like being separated from you Theos." Kemba said.
