"Yes Dan would definitely do something like that." Kemba released Theos from their dance posture as Ban approached them.
"I wanna dance with Kemba!" Ban said looking to Kemba. Kemba bowed his head to Ban, "It would be my highest honor Prince Ban." Theos watched the pair a moment smiling.
"Well Theos, this is supposed to be a party for you to get to know our guests so that the proposal for a unified city will be supported. I'll dance here with Ban for a bit so go mingle okay?" Theos nodded at Kemba's permission to leave his side.
Theos began walking about the room smiling and introducing himself. He acted proper and spoke properly as well in a friendly manner. It wasn't that hard for him since he had been looking forward to meeting them all to begin with.
"Books tell you everything and can send you to fantastic places and live a different life through the main character. I've amassed my knowledge by reading a lot. I have recently taking a liking to human literature, fairy tales. Humans have quite the masterful stories." Ike wouldn't know himself. He didn't have such privileges as a servant.
"My favorite literature is history. Knowing the past helps prepare for the future. What about you Ike? What sort of things do you like? Did you have any hobbies back in Scomparsa?"
Ike thought about it a moment. He didn't really have a lot of hobbies he supposed. He spent most of his time in the castle walls walking around if not being ordered to do something. "When I got the chance I liked skipping stones across the pond," he wasn't sure it was a hobby but he liked to do it. "I also like music it is rather calming so occasionally I would go to the music room and listen to them practice."

"When I got the chance I liked skipping stones across the pond, I also like music it is rather calming so occasionally I would go to the music room and listen to them practice." Don tried to picture Ike participating in such things, it seemed like him.
"Skipping stones? I've never done it, it makes me wonder if I can." Don chuckled, "Music on the other hand, I like classical tunes. I grew up listening to this music after all. Having it play in the background while I venture through many a page is comforting. Though I can't imagine a barbaric place like Scomparsa had music quite like this." Don said referencing the classical music being played by the orchestra.
Don and Ike continued to talk to one another in their secluded corner while everyone else enjoyed the festivities. Kemba and Ban danced awkwardly but Kemba didn't mind, Kaa danced with more then a handful of young females attempting to catch his eye. Kaa however polite, did not find them appealing. Cora and Raja laughed and teased one another as they danced around the floor. Blake found himself talking to foreign women, whether or not they were interested or just pitying him was to be seen but he was enjoying himself still.
Jared wound up sharing his stories with Kilgath and Cole who found the small digimon interesting and were attentive while they ate. Kim and her folks were enjoying themselves as well but in their own way, as they spent most of the evening advertising their inn, using Theos's name as an advertising tool. It was working and they were going to be very busy afterwards.
Many nobles and merchants made their way especially to talk with Theos and always ended it with a smile. Theos was leaving the impression he was desiring and his ultimate goal was in sight as a result. Soon however, the hours went by and it was time for the main event.
"Alright, everyone back to their tables." Cora spoke out gaining the attention of the room. "It's time to begin the crowning ceremony." Cora announced and the crowd cheered, raising their alcohol rich glasses. Cora gave a moment for everyone to get back.
Blake hobbled to his seat after having his thirtieth cocktail of the night. The triplets all took their seats, Ban was satisfied getting his dance. Kaa was pleased that it was over and Don walked back with Ike with a smile. Kemba pulled out Theos seat and waited for him to take it before pushing him back and sitting down himself.
Cora stood and waited for silence to set in before speaking, "We're gathered here today to celebrate a digimon who has made an impression on the lives of the citizens of this great kingdom. A digimon whose ancestry has long served Coraggio and helped build what it is today. In truth, they are the true founders of this great kingdom but opted to give it to us." Cora looked at Theos with a smile.
"The Theowmon have been our allies since before most of us were even born and it wasn't until my father, King Gale, that the Theowmon became an adoptive member of the royal family. Today, that continues and will be so until Coraggio is but a forgotten memory."
"Today is a momentous day as I have the privilege and honor to crown a Theowmon who means more to me than the breath in my lungs. A Theowmon who has called this place home for the last six months. He is the son of Prince Midas, to whom most of you remember we held a similar crowning ceremony for." Cora moved out in front of the table.
"Although we're different in both blood and body, Theos has become more than a nephew. He has become a son. There will come a time when my memories of this place without him here will become foreign and unrecognizable and my desire and hope is that in time, you all will feel the same way." Cora motioned for Theos to stand.
"This young hatchling will no doubt benefit this kingdom and will take us to new heights. So it is with my greatest honor that I will crown Theos as a new prince of Coraggio." Cora looked to the door as a small Agumon ran in with a velvet cushion where a familiar crown rest on it.
Cora picked up the crown with his claws and faced Theos, "Theos the Theowmon, son of Prince Midas and heir to your father's throne. With this crown and ceremony, all of Coraggio and it's allies shall recognize you as a prince of this nation. Wherever you go, Coraggio goes with you in spirit." Cora raised the crown over Theos's head.
"I, King Cora, sixth King of Coraggio, hereby dub you, Theos, Prince." Cora lowered the crown onto Theos's head, it was still a slight bit bigger since it was meant for Midas's head. The crown began to cheer and applaud as the deed was done.
Cora motioned the crowd into silence, "Now we will hear from Prince Theos. As with our laws, every new prince or princess may declare a citizen of Coraggio as their Lord and that Lord will serve them and be their envoy until their dying day. This may be waived however, and used at a later time." Cora stepped aside to allow Theos some room.
"Prince Theos, you may address the crowd."

"I, King Cora, sixth King of Coraggio, hereby dub you, Theos, Prince." Theos bowed his head accepting the crown with a smile.
"Thank you, my King," Theos said bowing slightly before turning to address the crowd. "Kingdom of Coraggio I hereby make an oath to do the best I can for all the people of this country. A duty that will not only fall upon me but on my Lord as well. I hereby name Kemba my Lord," Theos motioned to Kemba to stand. "As my sword and shield together we will both protect and serve the people of our beautiful kingdom til our dying day," Theos proclaimed boldly. He stepped back looking to King Cora and smiling.
Ike would clap with the rest of the room. He was very bold. It was kind of admirable.
Degas smiled as he clapped. So this was the young prince. He admitted to never seeing his kind before but he didn't really care. His eyes were on the big daddy King Cora. A handsome beast he had to admit but sadly out of his range. He doubted such a kindly King would take him to bed.

"Thank you, my King," Kemba nervously crumpled his toes as his time was coming to be given a noble title. Jared reached out and patted Kemba's paw, "You'll do fine lad." He encouraged, earning a smile from Kemba.
"Kingdom of Coraggio I hereby make an oath to do the best I can for all the people of this country. A duty that will not only fall upon me but on my Lord as well. I hereby name Kemba my Lord," Kemba stood when he was motioned to do so, he sheepishly smiled and waved at the crowd.
"As my sword and shield together we will both protect and serve the people of our beautiful kingdom til our dying day," Cora returned Theos smile and stepped in front of Kemba and removed one of the blades on his back. Kemba looked at Cora, his nerves slightly trembling.
"Young Kemba, take a knee if you would." Kemba did as instructed, "With the crowning of a new Prince, he has chosen you to be his Lord. A high noble of this fair Kingdom, with the power vested in me as King, I hereby dub thee Lord Kemba, Noble Soul of Theos." Cora tapped Kemba's shoulders with the dull portion of his blade. Kemba smiled and stood back up.
"I will do what I have always done, and that is to serve Theos in all things. I humbly accept this title." Kemba said. The crowd erupted into cheers and claps, "Hooray!" Ban called out from the table. Jared wiped a tear from his eye as he clapped along. Blake had passed out in his seat. Kaa and Don clapped alongside their mother and Kilgath simply continued eating. Cole was clapping as well, but was eyeing the crowd.
"Then with this, the crowning ceremony is completed! All hail the new Prince!" Cora shouted, "Hail Prince Theos!" The crowd echoed. "Now please, enjoy the remainder of the night! The celebration continues!" Just as Cora finished the crowd took to the dance floor once more, although this time the music was upbeat and fast. Everyone danced the way they wanted, though it was mostly alcohol induced.
Kemba let out a sigh, "That was nerve racking." He said earning a chuckle from Don. "You may have the title now, but you have a lot to learn about being nobility." Kemba shrugged his shoulders, "Well it must not be too difficult then if you can do it." He teased. Don puffed out his cheeks, "You know I can still have you thrown into the dungeon." Don stated.
Kemba chuckled, "Oh please great prince, spare me your fury."
Cole stood from his seat suddenly, earning a look from the table, "Something wrong Cole?" Cora asked. "I'm just making sure of something." Cole moved towards where Degas currently was. "Cole seems to be very uptight tonight." Kaa said. "I hope everything is okay." Raja added.
Cora frowned for a moment then perked back up, "Hey hey hey, we're supposed to be having fun. So, how is everyone enjoying themselves?" Cora asked.
"I've learned that Ike is quite the classy digimon." Don said giving Ike a smile. "I wouldn't say I'm enjoying myself....I've had to dance with so many digimon. Do you know how many times my eyes have been complimented? Or the sheen of my scales?" Kaa said letting out a sigh.
Kemba laughed, "Well tonight has proved to be a lot of fun. I can come to enjoy events like this."
"Well, this event cost the Kingdom a fortune. I'm just hoping we're earning enough tonight to make up for it." Raja stated. "It was worth every unit." Cora added.
Meanwhile, Cole approached Degas. "So, it really is the kingpin of New Vegas. I've heard about you from my men that ventured there. Lost everything in your forsaken city. It took me a moment to recognize you in that ridiculous outfit you're wearing." Cole crossed his arms and glared at him.
"It's my understanding that this party was by invitation only. Though I suppose someone of your influence could get one rather easily. What business does filth like you have here?" Cole asked.

Theos smiled as he watched Kemba. All things considered they both were well received. It lifted a weight off their shoulders knowing they didn't have to make another announcement in front of everyone.
"Then with this, the crowning ceremony is completed! All hail the new Prince!" Cora shouted, "Hail Prince Theos!" The crowd echoed. "Now please, enjoy the remainder of the night! The celebration continues!" Theos started back for his seat.
Theos chuckled at the pair as he sat down. Then he looked out at the crowd watching the drunken dancers. He was positive most of them had two left feet now. They all seemed to be having fun however.
"I've learned that Ike is quite the classy digimon." Ike looked at him a bit surprised then looked away with a mumbled thanks and blush.
"I'm sure we are. Kim said the inns are practically overflowing," Theos said smiling. "I for one think it is great. Everyone is in high spirits."
"You should save the dirty talk for the bed," Degas replied with a smirk. He sipped his glass unfazed by the rough words. Though those he had surrounded himself with disappeared quickly.
"I just came to show my support for the crowning. One king to another. The party was a delightful bonus. Narry another human in sight making me a talk-able feature on display," Degas said a glimmer in his eye. "I do so enjoy garnering attention from handsome fellas such as yourself. Though from the look on your face you aren't interested."
Degas chuckled and looked to his dress smoothing a wrinkle. Is outfit was far from ridiculous but he doubted many digimon had the taste for cross dressing as is. Let alone be able to....his thoughts turned to Cole in a dress and he had to hold back the laugh by taking another drink.

"You should save the dirty talk for the bed," Cole's expression soured at Dega's words.
"I just came to show my support for the crowning. One king to another. The party was a delightful bonus. Narry another human in sight making me a talk-able feature on display," Cole uncrossed his arms and garnered a fist.
"I do so enjoy garnering attention from handsome fellas such as yourself. Though from the look on your face you aren't interested." Cole huffed continuing his firm piercing glare.
"Tales of your ego do not do you justice. What folly, a human king over digimon? You're nothing more than a rich fool who deals in the criminal underworld to further his own ideals. It's human scum like you that caused the great war that claimed countless lives." Cole calmed himself and relaxed.
"A leech like yourself can keep his support to himself. Coraggio and it's royalty can do without your nonsense. You will not trouble the people of this party further with your wily ways. I do not wish to escalate this if I do not have to, so I will ask nicely one time. Remove yourself from this party, or I shall have the guards toss you out." Cole commanded, a few guards came to join Cole at his side.
Before Degas could respond however, a loud crash could be heard outside. It was louder than even the music that was playing and caused the crowd to silence themselves. Everyone looked towards the door, and a feeling of unease fell over Cora. Suddenly, screaming from outside was heard and Cole looked to his guard. "Go now!" He ordered, however before they could mobilize, the doors to the hall bust open and several DarkTyrranomon and Triceramon rushed inside branding the crest of Scomparsa.
Cole's attention quickly shifted from Degas to the soliders entering the room. They roared at the crowd and the crowd retreated back from them, causing the Royal Guard to rush these intruders and bear their fangs. Cole reached for his sword, strapped to his back and drew it. "Soldiers from Scomparsa?" Raja said noticing their crests. Cora glared at them and his gaze sharpened at the next figure to enter their hall.
A DinoRexmon walked in, a crown firmly positioned on his head. His terrifying figure towering over most of the guests as he eyed the room, "What is the meaning of this!?" Cora roared. The DinoRexmon looked to Cora and glared at him, "Excuse my intrusion King Cora, but I thought I'd attend the crowning ceremony of your new pup. For some reason, I didn't get my invitation." He answered.
"That's because you were not invited, King Dubal." Cora replied, blue ember's sparking from his mouth. King Dubal, the current tyrant ruler of the Kingdom of Scomparsa, who came to power at the same time King Cora took Coraggio's throne. Dubal was rumored to have taken his father's throne after he was mysteriously poisoned. Most outsider's believe Dubal was the assailant but it was never proven.
Under his rule, Dubal has conquered countless independent villages or neighboring kingdoms. Taking everything and reducing them to ash, continuing his late father's work. King Gale noticed Scomparsa's movements and ordered Cole to spy on him, to ready themselves if Scomparsa grew brave enough to challenge Coraggio, to which had always been the stronger kingdom.
"We're your closest neighbors and you thought to exclude us from your festivities? That isn't very neighborly." Dubal said with a chuckle.
Kemba stood in front of Theos glaring at the intruders. Raja quickly took the triplets and put them behind her, Don taking Ike's hand to hide behind his mother. "So that is the King you served?" Don asked. Kaa and Ban peaked out from the side of their mother.
Kilgath stood as well, and Blake was still unconscious from his excessive drinking.
"Leave now Dubal, unless you intend to try my might." Cora said. Dubal chuckled, "Someone who runs his kingdom the way you do is not someone I fear. You're soft unlike your father Cora, you've just come to bask in his riches. You've had all of this handed down to you. You're no King, just a peasant playing pretend."
Cole glared at Scomparsa's King, he remembered him very well. He spent more time fetching him his food then he spent with his family. "Watch your tongue or I shall have it." Cora said.
A second figure made it's way into the hall. It was tall and human like but covered in a white robe, with a purple bandanna on it's head. It's attire was fitting for the desert climate. Cole recognized him as Baalmon, the adviser to King Dubal.
Dubal laughed, "I've only come to see the new prince. The pup you've adopted and I've heard tell about. What was the one that King Gale had? Midas? I'll never understand you people and you senseless need for pets." He scoffed.
"I believe my King told you to hold your tongue!" Cole yelled. Dubal eyed Cole and immediately recognized him. "I had an inkling that you had run here servant boy. Which...actually is one of the reasons I crashed this little affair." Dubal looked at Cora.
"That digimon is a criminal of Scomparsa, he murdered my nephew in cold blood. That is a crime punishable by death, you will hand him over immediately!" Dubal roared.

Degas pretended to be hurt at his words tossing the back of one hand on his head while the other was over his heart.
Before Degas could respond however, a loud crash could be heard outside. It was louder than even the music that was playing and caused the crowd to silence themselves. He ordered, however before they could mobilize, the doors to the hall bust open and several DarkTyrranomon and Triceramon rushed inside branding the crest of Scomparsa.
Theos stood quickly his fur bristling a bit in surprise. Scomparsa being here was not a good sign. He looked to Cora questioningly.
"What is the meaning of this!?" Cora roared. The DinoRexmon looked to Cora and glared at him, "Excuse my intrusion King Cora, but I thought I'd attend the crowning ceremony of your new pup. For some reason, I didn't get my invitation." He answered.
"That's because you were not invited, King Dubal." Degas leaned against a pillar and smiled. Things went from fun to interesting in no time flat.
"We're your closest neighbors and you thought to exclude us from your festivities? That isn't very neighborly." Dubal said with a chuckle.
Theos noticed the tense air and tugged lightly on Kembas tail for him to follow as Theos went towards the back with the triplets. He hated to admit it but they could probably do little in the face of these digimon. Ike meanwhile clung to Don who had dragged him back. Don could no doubt feel him shaking.
"Watch your tongue or I shall have it." Cora said.
Degas eyes instantly went to the cutie in a robe. Tall and lithe oh he could definitely imagine hitting that.
Dubal laughed, "I've only come to see the new prince. The pup you've adopted and I've heard tell about. What was the one that King Gale had? Midas? I'll never understand you people and you senseless need for pets." He scoffed.
"I believe my King told you to hold your tongue!" Degas looked to Cole and took two steps away chuckling.
Theos thought about it a moment. "That's why they got here pretty much unharmed," Theos said softly. "Why he didn't kill him immediately after the incident they must have learned he was a spy. Instead of rooting him out however they planned to use him to start the war. They know Cora wouldn't give him over because he is a big softie." This wasn't good at all...Theos couldn't let Cora face him alone let alone let Cole take the blame for the start of a war.
Ike looked to the floor at this revelation. His fathers actions may start a war. It didn't settle well with him. If they had planned all this....how far back did their plan go. Maybe they pushed him towards his mothers chambers that night so his father would kill him. Ike wouldn't put it past them.
Theos stepped up beside Cora. "You let a murderer escape your gates," Theos said questioningly. "That reflects poorly on you, doesn't it? Before blaming another countries servant you should provide proof and request an official audience. There are steps for such things as disputes," Theos said rather calmly. He had faced worst hadn't he?
Degas had to think how bold. The rookie digimon standing up to such big digimon. It nearly made him laugh. Still though it looked like tonight may turn into another type of party. He didn't have his sword on him either. He slunk back into the crowd til he was standing beside a certain Sakuyamon. With a wave of her hand he took the blade out of the air. It had been teleported from his bedroom. He smiled at her and waited for things to become even more interesting.

"You let a murderer escape your gates," The rooms gaze fell to Theos as he spoke up, Kemba walked to his side. "That reflects poorly on you, doesn't it? Before blaming another countries servant you should provide proof and request an official audience. There are steps for such things as disputes,"
Dubal gave a hearty laugh, "The royal dog speaks of things it could never understand! I need not answer a child." He replied. Kemba glared at Scomparsa's king, he knew he wasn't strong enough to defend Theos against this beast if it chose to attack them. He had to think of how to escape with Theos and began looking around the room for any other exit. Jared looked on worryingly.
Don felt Ike shaking and embraced him in a hug, "Its okay Ike, you're safe with us. Nothing will happen to you, I promise." Don said hugging tightly.
The Baalmon looked at Theos and turned to Dubal, "That is the one." He said. Dubal looked at him and then at Theos then finally to Cora. "So that is a Theowmon? I've never seen one myself." Cora's tail dropped in front of Kemba and Theos, blocking them from Dubal's view.
"You try my patience Dubal." Cora said. Dubal glared at him, "Hmm. Very well Cora, I'll admit I have a forked tongue. Sometimes I forget that not everyone are peasants, even hand me down Kings are still Kings in their own right. So, let me start over, and do this properly." Dubal cleared his throat.
"King Cora of Coraggio, you have in your midst a criminal of Scomparsa. The digimon you see here, was acting as my servant, a privilege given only to those I trust. For some reason, this trusted servant took my nephew and killed him. Now, before you ask for proof, we have a witness to the crime." Dubal explained.
Cora looked to Cole and then to Dubal, Cole had already confessed what he had done to Cora. "You say you have a witness?" Cora asked.
"Yes, another servant who witnessed that digimon commit the act in question and explained in vivid detail. He followed my nephew back to his chambers after supper, and cut his throat while he was intoxicated. My poor nephew bled out and by the time his servants arrived to check on him after the witness found us, he had dissipated into data." Dubal did not appear to be the least bit hurt from his telling of the story.
Cole and Cora knew that Dubal was lying. "Though, I'm a reasonable mon. I am willing to pardon him and lift his death sentence to live out his life here in Coraggio with his child if you're willing to trade someone of royalty in his place." Cora glared at Dubal.
"What did you say!?" Cora became angry at Dubal's threat. "I'll even pardon your crime Cora, of espionage. We can avoid any further problems between our nations if you trade a royal life for a royal life. Did you not think I would know that Cole was a spy? The constant letters, his unnatural strength, his distaste for my family." Dubal chuckled.
"I knew for years Cole was a spy, after that, all I had to do was feed him misinformation." Cole looked surprised, he was so careful. There was no way he'd have been discovered. Unless... "The adviser..." Cole said retreating to Cora.
"Correct. I learned of your identity. It wasn't difficult." He responded. "I looked into your history Cole when you decided to work as a servant for Dubal. I traveled to many Kingdoms and shared your name, it was a guard from this city that finally recognized your name. Seeing as I am not of the dinosaur race, my inquiries went unnoticed."
"In any case..." Dubal continued, "Espionage is a serious crime, one that could lead to war. So, being as we're both Kings and would rather keep our peoples from killing each other, a trade seems rather fair doesn't it? Like your newly crowned pup for instance..."
Kemba clenched his sword, "Theos?" Kemba questioned.
"Give me your Theowmon, and I will pardon your transgressions against my nation." Cora clenched his claws together. Blue embers were sparking from his mouth.
"It makes the most sense doesn't it? He's not of your blood. He has no real claim on your throne. Giving him to me has no effect against your hierarchy does it?"
"Go to hell Dubal. Theos is a precious member of my family." Cora answered. "We will never let you have him or Cole." Raja stated standing next to her husband.
The triplets all surrounded Theos glaring at Dubal. Kilgath stood at the other side of Cora, "I've had my fill of the finest food, I'm not someone you want to fight right now and if you want Cole or Theos, I'm exactly who you're going to fight!"
Jared and Blake stood in front of Kemba and Theos, "Theos is my last grandchild. I'll die first before he steps a foot outside this room with you." Jared said.
Blake nodded, "I was unconscious for most of this, but no one is taking my best bud without going through me. I'll beat you even with one arm!"
Magi hovered above them, "I am very close to finding Midas, I can't let you take Theos when I've vowed to unite father and son together."
Just then the entire crowd began to move towards Cora and his family, forming a wall between them and Dubal. Every citizen ready to defend their royal family. Kemba was surprised by everyone willing to put so much on the line for foreigners. It brought a smile to his face and he looked at Theos.
Dubal's guards became intimidated and slowly backed away, Dubal eyed the crowd surprised and feeling intimidated as well. "Y-You all would risk war....for a digimon that isn't even native to this Kingdom!? Are you all daft!?"
Cora blew smoke from his nostrils, "You've made one grave error Dubal. This entire kingdom is one big family and when you threaten one, you threaten the thousands that live here."

Theos frowned at his mocking. He shouldn't have expected anything less as was. The digimon did not respect Cora so he should expect even less respect.
"Its okay Ike, you're safe with us. Nothing will happen to you, I promise," Ike started at Don's hug but settled down.
"That is the one." He said. Dubal looked at him and then at Theos then finally to Cora. "So that is a Theowmon? I've never seen one myself." Theos looked up at Cora. It had also blocked Dubal from view.
Now, before you ask for proof, we have a witness to the crime." Theos brow furrowed at this.
"You say you have a witness?" Cora asked.
"Yes, another servant who witnessed that digimon commit the act in question and explained in vivid detail. He followed my nephew back to his chambers after supper, and cut his throat while he was intoxicated. My poor nephew bled out and by the time his servants arrived to check on him after the witness found us, he had dissipated into data." Theos had several doubts. The witness fetched servants and not guards? Not to mention with a witness they would have hanged him immediately.
"Though, I'm a reasonable mon. I am willing to pardon him and lift his death sentence to live out his life here in Coraggio with his child if you're willing to trade someone of royalty in his place." Cora glared at Dubal.
"What did you say!?" Theos blood chilled. "I'll even pardon your crime Cora, of espionage. We can avoid any further problems between our nations if you trade a royal life for a royal life. Did you not think I would know that Cole was a spy? The constant letters, his unnatural strength, his distaste for my family." Dubal chuckled.
"I knew for years Cole was a spy, after that, all I had to do was feed him misinformation." So all his hard work was for nothing Theos thought.
Why would they want the pup? Degas leaned against a pillar sword in hand. At this rate it wasn't going to get any more interesting than this.
"Give me your Theowmon, and I will pardon your transgressions against my nation." Theos let out a low rumbling growl.
"It makes the most sense doesn't it? He's not of your blood. He has no real claim on your throne. Giving him to me has no effect against your hierarchy does it?"
"Go to hell Dubal. Theos is a precious member of my family." Cora answered. "We will never let you have him or Cole." Dubal knew very well this would happen. Theos was sure of it now. He had done this as an excuse for war. As the triplets joined in making a wall in front of Theos Ike stepped beside him hanging back a bit. He wanted to be strong he knew it would be suicide to fight as was.
"I've had my fill of the finest food, I'm not someone you want to fight right now and if you want Cole or Theos, I'm exactly who you're going to fight!"
Jared and Blake stood in front of Kemba and Theos, "Theos is my last grandchild. I'll die first before he steps a foot outside this room with you." Jared said.
Blake nodded, "I was unconscious for most of this, but no one is taking my best bud without going through me. I'll beat you even with one arm!" Magi hovered above them, "I am very close to finding Midas, I can't let you take Theos when I've vowed to unite father and son together."
An interesting turn of events indeed....Degas smiled as he watched the crowd. It seemed to him they loved their kingdom deeply and their royal family.
Theos looked at everyone in amazement. This was definitely a crowning no one would forget. A kingdom uniting for a newly crowned prince. Theos anxiety at the situation pretty much disappeared. The kingdom stood at his side and he had nothing to fear.
"I do believe a hasty retreat would be optimal," Degas voiced. "It seems to me you awoke a sleeping giant and he's mighty hungry," Degas smiled remaining where he was his sword resting in hand at his hip.

"I do believe a hasty retreat would be optimal, It seems to me you awoke a sleeping giant and he's mighty hungry," Cole crossed his arms and looked at Degas,
"The human speaks wisdom Dubal, retreat while I still hold myself back from tearing out your throat." Cora growled.
Dubal began to walk backwards, towards the exit. "V-Very well....we shall leave. Though the consequences of this decision shall be wrought!" Dubal turned with his guards and exited the palace, quickly making their way to the nearest gate. The only one left was the Baalmon, who did not share in Dubal's fear. He instead eyed the crowd and chuckled.
"King Dubal is a coward, he lacks any real strength. The irony is that he called you a hand me down King, when in reality it was I who brought Dubal into power and nurtured his Kingdom. Everything he has is because of my work. My name is Stall and I am so happy young Theos was bold enough and comfortable enough to announce himself under this kingdom's care. Since his escape from Lady Ara, we thought him lost from Cursed Exodus."
Kemba's eyes widened when that name rang through his ears, "What did...he say?"
"Cursed Exodus?" Magi questioned, "That name...sounds familiar." Stall nodded, "I'm sure someone of your intelligence knows of our existence though we try not to make a scene when possible. Had it not been for this foolish crowning ceremony, we'd have never known Theos was so close to home." He revealed a clawed hand and stroked his chin.
"You're the ones that caused my boy to suffer!" Jared yelled. "You intend to stand against the might of my Kingdom alone?" Cora said. Stall shook his head,
"As fun as that sounds, I know my place. I wanted to tell you exactly what you're going up against. Cursed Exodus's roots run deep within the city of Scomparsa, we have used that city in time past. Theos is a rare breed of digimon that Lady Ara, my mistress, has decided is necessary to the cause. That boy's presence in your court is now a curse you will have to bare. Now that we know he has made his home here, we will not stop coming for him. Your kingdom will know no peace. It's streets will run red with the blood of the masses. No one will be spared, no woman or child." Stall began.
"Cursed Exodus will stand by Scomparsa's army, we will march against your city by the thousands. For every one solider we will have a dozen until Theos is captured." Stall pointed at Cora, "Before the victor is named, you will be begging us to take the prince from you. How many lives is his worth? Remember that when we snuff out your people." Stall looked to Theos.
"We will see each other soon, where I'll drag you to my Lady Ara." Kemba glared, "I will never let you take Theos, I won't ever leave his side." Kemba said. "None of us will!" Kaa yelled. Cora fixed his vision on Stall, "You've overstepped and now you are the one who dies!" Cora opened his mouth as a hot plasma intensified within.
"Blue Prominence!" He fired his strong breath at Stall who leaped up and over the breath, kicking off the wall and towards a nearby window. "Then it begins! A gift from my departure!" Stall threw open his cloak revealing a long sleeve and he pointed it at Kemba.
"With this, the first casualty of war! Guiltish!" He cried as a powerful bullet escaped from the gun hidden in his sleeve. It screeched through the crowd, missing many digimon in it's path. Stall with a keen eye and incredible accuracy would hit Kemba between his eyes, if it had not been for Jared throwing himself on top of him.
The bullet entered Jared's back and remained lodged inside of him. Kemba's eyes dilated as his brain processed what had happened. Jared had a closed eye and was smiling at Kemba as blood leaked from his mouth and nose. "Ja....red...?" Kemba said. His heart had skipped a beat, "I told you....none of my kids....are dying before me....again."
Cole flew out towards Stall his blade drawn, "You bastard!" He yelled as he slashed down, only to hit the wall as Stall fell from the window. "It begins!" He said with a laugh as he glided to safety.
Jared fell over on his side, his blood running from the hole in his back. "Jared!" Kemba yelled tearing up. Magi immediately flew to his aid, he held out his hand in an attempt to heal Jared. "Why did you...do that!?" Kemba said.
"Ha ha....because....I had to protect....Theos's heart...no matter what." He said weakly.

"The human speaks wisdom Dubal, retreat while I still hold myself back from tearing out your throat." Degas chuckled at Cora.
"V-Very well....we shall leave. Though the consequences of this decision shall be wrought!" Theos watched him beat his hasty retreat.
He was taking credit for it all? Degas smiled so he was the brain behind the kingdom. He had to say Dubal didn't seem very bright though his claws had looked rather sharp.
Theos surprise was equal to Kembas, "What did...he say?" The name curdled his blood. He snarled his upper lip curling at the name to reveal his teeth.
"Cursed Exodus?" Magi questioned, "That name...sounds familiar." Stall nodded, "I'm sure someone of your intelligence knows of our existence though we try not to make a scene when possible. Had it not been for this foolish crowning ceremony, we'd have never known Theos was so close to home."

Cora fixed his vision on Stall, "You've overstepped and now you are the one who dies!" Theos was ready to follow up.
"Blue Prominence!" "Then it begins! A gift from my departure!" Stall threw open his cloak revealing a long sleeve and he pointed it at Kemba.
"With this, the first casualty of war! Guiltish!" Theos started in surprise. The events moved so fast he didn't know what happened at first.
"Ja....red...?" Kemba said. His heart had skipped a beat, "I told you....none of my kids....are dying before me....again."
Theos rushed to Jareds side to help lower him to the ground, "You bastard!" Degas eyes never left Stall. "It begins!" Ike remained behind Raja once again shaking.
"Jared!" Theos eared up as he watched Jared. "Why did you...do that!?" Kemba said.
"Ha ha....because....I had to protect....Theos's heart...no matter what."
"You're a part of my heart too," Theos said tears streaming down his face. He remained at Jareds head nuzzling him lightly.
Degas approached Cora nonchalant. "Stall was correct about one thing. If Cursed Exodus wants him it will be bloody....I can't imagine only them wanting him either. It is fair warning to say that his species is worth a lot to more than one type of person. You should be careful," Degas then waved and started to leave before Cole could threaten to kick him out again. "War doesn't interest me unfortunately. I wish you all the best of luck," he said leaving the hall.

"You're a part of my heart too," Jared weakly looked to Theos, "Yes....but I am a small portion....Kemba...is what makes you the happiest....I couldn't let anything happen to him." He chuckled a little which lead to a bloody cough.
Kemba clenched his paw and closed his eyes, "The bullet was enchanted with dark arcane magic. It's on a completely different level than the sorceress. It....its counteracting my spell...." Magi began to sweat. Cole sheathed his blade and walked back towards the group.
Raja frowned, "Cora, I will excuse our guests and end the festivities. We need to focus on what is to come." Cora nodded to Raja and they embraced briefly before Raja escorted the patrons out of the hall. "I will help you my queen, come along Blake." Kilgath said. Blake frowned unable to find the words to say and bowed his head following Raja and his father. She closed the door leaving everyone there hovering over Jared.
Ban teared up as he clung to his father's leg, Kaa tried to remain strong wishing he had been able to do something. Don looked at Ike teary eyed and gave a soft smile, "It's okay Ike...Magi will save him." He said trying to calm the shaking boy.
I wish you all the best of luck,"
Cora was infuriated taking to heart Degas's words, his gaze falling to Jared. "Scomparsa will burn..." He said.
Cole crossed his arms, "Stall...the adviser to King Dubal...a member of a dark guild hunting Theos. He is more dangerous than any solider that city has. Rumors said that Dubal had an information specialist. Someone who was able to uncover the abilities and truths of anyone. I thought they were just baseless rumors because I could find no evidence such a person existed. To think it was Stall this entire time."
Magi closed his eyes, "Then it makes sense...this magic was designed to especially counter my own. I cannot heal Jared with simple incantations. I need something much stronger, we need to get him to my chambers. I can preserve his life long enough to brew a cure." Magi said.
"Then what are we waiting for!?" Kemba yelled. "N...no..." Jared said looking at them, "No!?" Kemba said surprisingly. "Do not....waste your efforts....on this old soul. I have lived....longer than most. My time on this world....was waning as it is. This is where my story will conclude." Jared said with a wide smile.
Kemba was shocked by Jared's refusal of help, "You can't be serious! Jared! You're family!" Kemba said with a broken voice.
"Ha ha ha....your heartfelt concern is touching....as always. I am not afraid to die, I have been given the greatest blessing. Seeing my grandson grow up and meet all of you....I know now....that my job is complete." Jared coughed. Kaa looked away facing the wall.
Magi began to say a silent prayer and Cora watched in silence. Cole moved to his son, bending down and giving him a soft stare petting his head. Don would watch them from the side.
"To be honest....I've longed for my family....I began to miss them....so if this is what sends me to them....I can tell them...all about everyone...and how...I protected Theos till the very end." Jared shifted his weak gaze to Theos.
"Grandson.....words cannot express the love I have for you.....and the pride you've instilled in me. Although.....leaving you....will hurt....I know that these people....will help you heal. All I ask....is that you live....a full life." Jared said reaching a shaking paw to Theos's face.
"Even now....the memory of finding you....by that fountain...so long ago...come back to me. The months....that we spent together....the dinners I prepared....you gave me purpose again. Now that it is fulfilled....it's finally time I go." Jared's tears rolled down his face as he smiled.
"So please....my child....let me go...to my children....and do not grow sorrowful....for this is my choice." He stroked Theos's face as his vision grew darker.

"Yes....but I am a small portion....Kemba...is what makes you the happiest....I couldn't let anything happen to him." Theos looked to him worriedly.
"The bullet was enchanted with dark arcane magic. It's on a completely different level than the sorceress. It....its counteracting my spell...." He wasn't going to be able to save him was he? Theos eyes went to the blood the memory of Dan coming to mind......everyone who tries to protect him dies....
Raja frowned, "Cora, I will excuse our guests and end the festivities. We need to focus on what is to come." Cora nodded to Raja and they embraced briefly before Raja escorted the patrons out of the hall. "I will help you my queen, come along Blake." Theos didn't pay them any attention his gaze purely on the raspy and bloodied breathing of Jared. Ike wished he could join them. This was all very awkward for him since he had no ties to Jared and couldn't bring himself to cry with the others.
"It's okay Ike...Magi will save him." Ike had calmed quite a bit since the Scomparians left.
"Then what are we waiting for!?" Kemba yelled. "N...no..." Theos hopeful gaze turned to Jared as he spoke, "No!?" Kemba said surprisingly.
Seeing my grandson grow up and meet all of you....I know now....that my job is complete." Theos stared at him unable to say anything. His job was complete? What utter nonsense.
Ike watched in silence turning to his fathers patting of his head to look up to him. He understood the feelings they had well enough. He hugged onto his leg and remained there.
"Even now....the memory of finding you....by that fountain...so long ago...come back to me. The months....that we spent together....the dinners I prepared....you gave me purpose again. Now that it is fulfilled....it's finally time I go." Jared's tears rolled down his face as he smiled.
"So please....my child....let me go...to my children....and do not grow sorrowful....for this is my choice." Theos remembered that night when they had met. How fondly he had spoken of his children. Theos could not deny him his true family even if he wanted to. He pressed his forehead against Jareds and let out a silent sob.
"Go to them," Theos said softly. He would remain there til he disappeared his tears slowly drying with each piece of data that vanished. He should have never came off his mountain. Each death just kept telling him that..... If Cursed Exodus was truly that powerful even W.A.D.A..... they would be unable to protect him without massive losses. His father knew this didn't he? That's why he remained hidden he knew is presence would only lead to death.
The war had already been announced there was no running from it now....but afterwards. Afterwards maybe he would join his father in hiding. Maybe he shouldn't remain here despite everything. There was a lot of maybe's in his head right now and it left it fuzzy. Now all he wanted to do was sleep and hope it was all a bad dream....it wasn't though and deep in his aching heart he knew it.
Theos stod and looked to Kemba with sorrowful eyes hoping he would pick up on the hint and excuse them to retire.

"Go to them," Jared continued to stroke his face as his vision faded, even as Theos rest his head against Jared. "Good bye...Theos....I leave this world...in peace." Jared's paw dropped from Theos face and as it touched the ground, it dispersed into data. His particles disappearing into the sky.
Kemba reached around his partner, "If it's all the same to you...I will see Theos to bed. We would like to be alone." Kemba said as he walked Theos towards the door.
Cora watched them, his plan for Theos coronation ended with such tragedy. This was not how it was supposed to go and he would make sure that justice is met. He turned his head to see Cole, "Cole...meet me in my chambers. We have much to discuss." He said an anger trembling on his voice.
"Yes your majesty." Cole looked at Ike, "The King and I will need to discuss the events. I know you're frightened about what happened, but I stand by my words. Coraggio is the safest place you can be. I will make sure of that." He hugged him before standing.
"Magi, see that the children retire as well." Cole asked turning and walking after Cora.
"Of course, Princes and Young Ike. It will be hard to slumber after all that has happened. I implore you to get some rest however, we may yet need your positivism in the days to come." Magi said.
"Dad....I've never seen him so angry..." Ban said whimpering, "He's scary..." Kaa walked over to console his brother. "Dad is doing his best to cope with the situation. I've never seen him that angry either but...everyone is a little angry." Ban turned, his wet eyes gazing at Kaa with a quivering lip.
He planted his face into his brothers shoulder and Kaa embraced him. "I want Dad....to smile again..." Ban said sobbing into his brother who stroked his head. "I know you do Ban. I know you do. He'll smile again soon." Don watched them and frowned turning to Magi.
"What will become of the kingdom? Coraggio has never been to war." He asked. Magi shook his head, "Yes....one bad thing is that none of our soldiers know real battle. King Gale prevented war with an iron rule....now that we've been forced into one under King Cora...I'm not sure the guard is prepared." Magi said.
Don thought on that. The guard didn't know real battle? Which means they likely didn't know anything about battle strategies...and if Stall was Scomparsa's strategist...than they would need someone who could keep up.
"Now come, off to bed with you four. Ike, you may stay in my chambers until we can properly get you a room." Magi said walking towards the door.
Don looked at Ike then at Magi, "He's more then welcome to spend the night with us. It would be lonely for him to sleep in your chamber. Who knows how long Cole would be. If he wants to anyway." Don offered. "I'm sure my brothers have no objections."
Ban did not pay attention and Kaa shook his head, "If Ike would like, I do not mind. Our bed is big enough for another."

"If it's all the same to you...I will see Theos to bed. We would like to be alone." Theos leaned into Kemba a bit as they headed for their room. It was all so quiet now. The halls were practically empty and it felt just as lonely as Theos at this moment. Only the sound of his hoof beats and the warmth of Kemba keeping him grounded.
Ike accepted his fathers hug understandingly. Everyone seemed angry. None more than Cora right now. He had to wonder if Theos would be alright though. He had been out of it.
I've never seen him that angry either but...everyone is a little angry."
Ike looked to the brothers. It seemed Ban was upset about the wrong thing to him. Him he was mainly upset cause they were used for such a plot. Magi was right about one thing none of them would sleep well this night.
Ike looked at the floor at this revelation. Their army knew no battle against Scomparsians who knew nothing but battle. From bar brawls to the arena. Only the toughest survived there. It did not bode well.
"If Ike would like, I do not mind. Our bed is big enough for another."
Ike nodded a bit. He didn't want to feel lonely. He didn't doubt Magi had better things to do than watch over him or worry about him. Things had gotten out of hand rather fast and even he had duties to attend to he was sure. They all had to prepare for war.
