Comparing Showers

Yaten followed his friend into the bathes. Leo was rambling on about some joke or the other, it was already over Yaten's head but just seeing Leo happy and himself kept a smile on his face. "So I said isn't it squishy,"

Leo's laugh was contagious, so Yaten had laughed alongside him. He probably gave the impression that the joke was funny instead. Leo was quick to remove his clothes, his pale complexion beaten only by his lithe yellow tail. Yaten placed his jacket into the community hamper as well.

He removed an article, one at a time folding his shirt, then pants then underwear and placing it in the community hamper. His blue tail always felt more free when the rim of his pants weren't suffocating it, he stretched it out and walked into the main bathing area.

It was empty and pristine, no one had used it for possibly weeks. Not that there were many members to do just that. "These bathes are nicer than the ones in the Anima den." He watched Leo a moment, "Reminds me of when we were kids...well...younger kids." Yaten chuckled, he was still technically a kid.

Yaten stood there a moment, "Shower or a soak? What do you think Leo?" He said turning to face him. Yaten's slim body was just as pale as his friends, his blue tail being easier on the eyes in this bright light then Leo's however. "Which do you think will get this gunk off easier?"

Leo agreed they were nicer. Made to clean a days work of grime off their compatriots and them. Leo smiled as Bluebie mentioned the good ol' days.......which really wasn't that old.

"Shower for in the dark depths of muddy water lurks the giblet eaters," Leo said covering his face but for his eyes. He smiled though and waited for Yaten to get in before joining him in the same stall.

"Your bigger," he said looking down at his privy. "Mines swingable," Leo said swinging his a bit. "Do your balls hang low do they swing too and fro," Leo sang as he did so then laughed. It was obvious he had no sense of decency. 

"Shower for in the dark depths of muddy water lurks the giblet eaters," Yaten shook his head, "Those giblet things again huh? Shower it is then." Yaten said walking into a stall and before he could turn the water on Leo made his way into it as well.

"Your bigger," Yaten looked at him, "Wh...what?" He said turned red. "Mines swingable," Leo said swinging his a bit. "Do your balls hang low do they swing too and fro,"

Yaten's shade grew deeper and his jaw dropping, "L-Leo! What the heck are you doing? B-Be serious!" Yaten said walking away from him, his tail curled and Yaten trying to recover. Yaten had no idea how to respond to that, "I...I think I'll take the bath after all...." He said walking over to the warm water. The steam lifted from it and he slowly sank in, his tail rising to the surface.

"Stupid Leo...." He said bubbling the water with his mouth. Turning red again as his mind wandered back to moments before.

Ahh it seemed Leo scared him off. He scratched his head and peaked out at him tempted to follow once more. He figured he'd give him some peace though.Not everyone could handle all this twenty-four seven after all. It was the main reason they had yet to find him a proper team until now. He turned on the shower and let it rinse him off. His fingers going through his dirty blonde hair. He let them rest against his horn a moment them rubbed his face.

He took the soap and washed up while humming. After awhile he stepped out and peeked in at Yaten figuring he had given him enough time.

Yaten hadn't done much since getting in, the mud dried on his body and he wanted the water to soak in a bit before scrubbing. He had closed his eyes to relax and stayed that way until he heard the approaching Leo, his ear twitched and Yaten turned around looking up at his naked friend.

Yaten frowned at him, "You really caught me off guard you know..." He said, "Stupid Leo...you shouldn't say things like that...it's embarrassing." He said. Yaten turned and sighed, then smiled "Anyway...are you leaving now?" Yaten asked, "I have to admit that it is kind of lonely soaking alone." Yaten did feel bad storming away from Leo. He knew Leo liked to be around him just as he liked being around Leo despite his craziness. Where it repelled others, it kept Yaten entertained.

He figured he'd let Leo hang around him at least for the moment, Yaten turned his head to look over at Leo his blue ears flickering once. He smiled at Leo, "I could use someone to help scrub my back and tail. It's easier when I have a helping hand." He had hoped this would mend the awkwardness from before and they could move on.

Leo chuckled at his embarrassment. Leo got a devilish grin as he said it was lonely soaking alone. He headed in and splashed into the tub with Yaten uncaring if the water was slightly mucky from the mud.

"Always happy to help," Leo said his tail stirring the water as it wagged back and forth. He grabbed a sponge and twirled his finger around. "Scrub a dub dub. Soaps in the tub. Wash it good and wash it clean. Leave nothing inbetween," Leo sang as he scrubbed.

The water splashed over Yaten and he closed his eyes. He gave a laugh and positioned himself in front of Leo as he began scrubbing.

"Always happy to help," Yaten relaxed and laughed at Leo's song, "Scrub a dub dub. Soaps in the tub. Wash it good and wash it clean. Leave nothing in between,"

"I'll never know where you get all your energy from Leo." Yaten was always so aloof to Leo sometimes it would make some digimon wonder if Yaten wasn't very bright, or he had the most patience anyone had ever had. Others pitied Yaten, but all in all it was a healthy friendship.

"Don't cha know," Leo said throwing his arms around him and leaning into him. "There is a secret to it," he began whispering. "The....fountain....of.....sugar," he began laughing and nuzzled the side of Yatens head his tail wagging. "Sugar is yummy and sugar is good. Sugar is sweet and sugar is in everything." 

He finished washing his back and turned around to Yaten could do his. 

"Don't cha know," Yaten looked over his shoulder at his friend when his arms came over, "There is a secret to it," he began whispering. "The....fountain....of.....sugar," Yaten chuckled, closing the eye being smothered by Leo's head. "Sugar is yummy and sugar is good. Sugar is sweet and sugar is in everything."

Yaten got to work on Leo's back, "Sugar huh? That explains a lot actually...I like this Leo though. You do make things easier...when you're not being an idiot..." Yaten said referencing earlier. Yaten thought a moment then figured he could try and tease Leo. No one was around so they shouldn't get in trouble for horseplay.

"You know Leo, you should see a doctor about all these spots on your tail. Your scales are gonna start falling off." Yaten said lifting Leo's tail and pretending to examine it.

"Sugar huh? That explains a lot actually...I like this Leo though. You do make things easier...when you're not being an idiot..." Leo smiled at his comment. Maybe he could tone it back a bit.......nah. This was a side he'd show only to Yaten. 


"You know Leo, you should see a doctor about all these spots on your tail. Your scales are gonna start falling off." Yaten said lifting Leo's tail and pretending to examine it.


"Wat," Leo said trying to get a view of his tail. "Its the reptile pox! Before I know it my tail will fall off. Woahist me," Leo said pretending to faint and falling back into Yaten.

Yaten caught Leo laughing as he pretended to be afflicted, "I guess that was a long shot huh? Trying to get you all worked up." Yaten said.

Yaten lifted Leo back to his feet, "Hey Leo..." Yaten said jumping up and sitting on the side of the bath. Only his feet were submerged and the tip of his tail tapped the floor, "I've been thinking this for a while now....like since before we graduated. You and I...we're supposed to be Imperium's biological weapons right?" Yaten cleared his bangs from his forehead, his crest on his forehead shimmering on the light. "That means we're not really supposed to exist right? We're just...tools to be used and tossed away when they're done with us."

Yaten looked at him, "There was a Gazimon anima in the same group as me. He was tough as nails and smart, I fought him once...but he had a defect in his DNA. He couldn't speak properly. He'd stutter and struggle to say full sentences and Petrov...our father...had him killed and melted down to his base DNA. Despite him being one of the best in the den...what if they decide that you or I...are defective. I mean...you've been in trouble before for having a free spirit and I've been seen as strange for hanging out with you. We're not perfect like Ladon....what if they melt us down? Decide we're not useful...I've been thinking how little our lives actually mean..." Yaten said rubbing his arm as he spoke.

He moved his feet under the water to watch the ripples. "That's why I try so hard to be a soldier they want....but today I couldn't complete a mission. Am I broken?" Yaten asked looking to Leo. Leo was older than him and often protected him, he had become the only person in Imperium he could speak openly with.

Such a solemn topic.....Leo got up from the bath and turned to face Yaten.... "Define broken," he asked smiling. "I for one don't think anything is broken. Nothing perfect can be broken because nothing perfect exists. I for one think the he-she is a crackerbox on a coo coo clock. While the tin man is secretly a crossdresser by night with all those eyes following him when he walks by.....they all know his dirty little secret in those high heels." Leo laughed knowing it was fake but finding the thought funny just the same.

"Ha ha your description of our leaders is seriously gonna be heard one day." Yaten said. "I asked if I'm broken because I refused to kill that girl. Just because what she knew couldn't have possibly been important but...you were willing to go all the way." Yaten sighed.

"I'm supposed to blindly follow orders....and I didn't. If Ladon finds out...he'll have me killed like that Gazimon kid. Just as the den mothers told us growing up, an Anima is only as good as their loyalty to the cause. How many times did we hear that? I mean I was forced to kill other anima kids to graduate...but that was different. The look in their eyes...they were just blind soldiers...they had the same eyes as Ladon. That girl though, her eyes were different....they were full of life like yours. How can I be like you? Able to just...do what needs to be done? I dunno...I keep thinking I made a terrible mistake." Yaten replied laying back on the floor. He stared at the ceiling.

"Maybe I'm not cut out to be Imperium."
