Talvi walked into her room exhausted. It seemed her father had all her books delivered. She guessed he didn't want them for his own library. She took off her shirt tossing it on the bed. They could have at least moved her bed around so they didn't block the virtual window. She sighed and looked to the overflowed books on the floor. She then turned on her heel and headed to the shower.
She finished undressing and turned on the shower. She stepped in after a moment and let it run down her plain body. A sigh escaped her lips as she blessed the hot water. With that he mind began wandering back to Naoi even as the hot water tried to relax her muscles. What was with him?
Talvi thought back about their interactions. The trial then the desert....even the hazy memories of her dreams. She could not think of any reason why he may start avoiding her. Perhaps that pounding of her heart....wasn't just hers? He had a look of fright on his face when he fled. He had been scared of that pounding. He had been scared of her delicate hand and gentle touch.
She began washing her body with that in mind. Why was he scared of her? What has she done to him? She has talked with him about history. About Bagramons plan.....she's touched him and spoken with him in her dreams. She gave him a name......she humanized him. A realization came over her as she lifted her face into the water letting it remove the soap. He was afraid of being human-like. He was a Demi-god he was suppose to be beyond humans. Beyond her reach......
"Damn it," she muttered as she brought her head back out of the water and turning off the tap. She wringed out her hair. Alright so he was scared of getting in touch with humans. Of having feelings for them. The Demi-God was afraid of having friends and perhaps more because of what he is. Well she'd hate to burst his bubble but she was going to. She'd be damned if she was going to leave him alone. They had a common enemy and he was a target. He didn't have to care about her but she cared about him.
Naoi I don't know what is going through that thick skull of yours. I am not leaving you alone though. If you don't want to be friends then fine. Won't stop me from trying though. I'm going to pray to you every night and tell you about my day. If you want me to stop you are going to have to come and tell me to my face. Either way though I am not leaving you alone. You are a target and we share a common foe even if this turns to just business for you....it will be protecting a friend for me.
I don't have many friends. The ones I talked to online I've never met. They are just names and sentences sometimes voices. Not a single one knew the real me. Now I make a friend and am tossed to the side. I guess it is my destiny to be alone huh...forget it you probably will toss my prayers to the side with everyone else. Won't stop me from trying though. Whichever comes first you finally coming to me or me dying. Those are the only ways you'll never hear from me. Goodnight Naoi....I hope you rest and remain safe.
Talvi had prayed while drying off and now lay in nothing but panties and a loose shirt on her bed. It didn't even smell like her. The only thing familiar about this room was the books. They were comforting to her. Many of them were first editions and a lot were falling apart and browned from age. Only the best for his daughter. He bought her love for a time....then she realized why. After that she hated her family...if one could call two strangers family. Because that was what they were....always alone.....
She had come here to start living her life. To make friends and work her ass off. Yet her cage still remained...it was just a bit bigger. She rolled onto her side staring at the bookshelves. She sat up slowly and started looking at the books. They were all mixed up...she sighed and began taking them off the shelves. She sat there working on them for hours before finally leaning back onto her bed then scooting herself to sleep in the middle with no pillow or blanket. She drifted to sleep hoping she didn't dream.
It was close to noon before she woke again. She sat up slowly and stretched her slightly stiff neck. She got up and went to the bathroom first and foremost. Then she set about preparing herself for the day. She wiped crusts out of her eyes as she looked in the mirror to brush her teeth and hair. She must have cried in her sleep sometime last night for them to be there. She sighed deciding not to think on it. Instead she finished getting ready and dressed. She had work to do today. She closed the door behind her with a click of the lock and went on her way.
