Cora's Camp

"We all need to cry now and again," Theo's said lovingly. "I will do everything i can to help you Kaa; it's a promise." Theos slowly let him out from his embrace. "Today a battle starts to protect what you love. Let's both do our best. Now come on I'll help you pack." Theos stood to help him pack up their stuff.

Kaa releases Theos and wipes his snout with his forearm, he gives Theos a smile and stands calmly grabbing the metal pin. "I thought you weren't going to promise anything..." Kaa questioned, he was happy though that Theos was. He felt a lot better now that Theos knew his plight. His bond with him had deepened further. "I told you you don't have to promise to make me feel better...I get that that is for kids..." Kaa said as he untied a pin.

Meanwhile outside Kemba approaches the group with a smile, "Kaa is going to be just fine." He says. Despite Don's firm appearance, he noticeably relaxes to anyone near him. "Good...because we can't have his mind clouded when the fighting starts."

Ban's tail wags happily at the news, "Theos cheered him up just like I knew he would!" Ban then remembered he hadn't seen Cora yet. "Doesn't dad know we're back yet?" Ban questioned. Don nodded, "Cole told him but with the situation as tense as it is, he can't fall to a loving kingly mush pile. I'm sure your return has skyrocketed his morale." Don smiled. "You skyrocketed mine."

Ban smiles at his brothers kind words. Don turns to Ike and walks over to him, "Sorry about all that unpleasantness before...my brother can be difficult." Don looked away from Ike and scratched his head, "Listen...about last night in your tent....what I....um...never mind." Don gave Ike a small smile. "Could you take Ban to the back with you and protect him? He's not going to be needed in today's battle." Don seemed to have a bit of sadness behind his eyes.

"I thought you weren't going to promise anything..." Theos smiled slightly watching him before helping. "I told you you don't have to promise to make me feel better...I get that that is for kids..."

"No it isn't," Theos said smiling. "I was being childish by not thinking words could hold so much in them. My promises they are filled with love and caring. I can only hope my feelings can get across to you with them."

"He will be safe," Ike responded. "You be careful out there. I want you there on that day," Ike said reminding him of his promise. No matter what he wanted Don to know he had Ike behind him. "Shall we," he asked Ban before patting Don's shoulder in farewell.

Kaa's tail begins to wag, something that Don and Kaa rarely ever did. It was a sure sign of Theos reaching Kaa, "Your feelings have reached me Theos. Your promises make me very happy...thank you." Kaa turns a slight shade of red and scratches the back of his head, in thought. He walks over to Theos and smiles, Kaa hugs him again but gives Theos a kiss on his face "I love you Theos." He whispers, embarrassed to think someone might see him. He releases Theos, his face a slight shade of pink still. "D...don't tell anyone I did that...okay?" He timidly requests.

"He will be safe," Ike responded. "You be careful out there. I want you there on that day," Don smiles, "I said I'd keep my promise...this battle is just a courtesy. You'll see me before you know it sport." Don winks at him and turns heading towards Kemba while Ban follows after Ike.

Kemba pats Don's head with his burly paw, "You two are cute." He says. "Easy feline...just because you're evolved doesn't mean I can't have you detained. Ike and I are only friends." Don says as they both head towards the tent. Kemba looks at him and chuckles, "I didn't insinuate anything." Don glares at Kemba, "Just...keep those comments to yourself."
