The vastless, never ending dunes of sands expanded onward and onward, for as far as the creatures eyes could see. Sand shifted under her claws, leaving a trace of her traveled before a feathered tail brushed away the trail like it had never been there. Her blue spotted head lifted to look towards the horizon, moving left and right to try and scan for any sign of the slim line of greyness. She had seen it far on the mountain. While watching the night sky one night, her keen eyesight couldnt help but pick out a small soft orange glow beyond the dunes. With it was a thin line of smoke and once Shika had seen it, she couldnt help her curiousity to know what it was. And now here she was, crossing the vast desert to find whatever it was that made a signal to anyone nearby. The thin gray line had disappeared by the morning though and, for all the raptor digimon could tell, she could have turned away from it long ago. Shika quickly shook out her entire body, small grains of sand dislodging from underneath her feathers. She gave a small sigh, sparks escaping her maw as she breathed out. She leaned forward until her front claws touched the ground, moving her back legs to almost look like a runner in start position. She took a second before launching herself forward into a full gate across the sands. "If I keep going in one direction, Im sure to reach somewhere!" SoltheGuilmon

As the feathered digimon sprint across the vast desert, the sun brought to life others who had been asleep and began moving. However, one such digimon had taken upon himself to dig holes in the desert sand waiting for any unsuspecting digimon that would possibly be going in a singular direction to fall victim to the vicious pitfall. He hid behind a cactus, waiting ever so patiently.

Sand kicked up behind Shika's claws, her tail moving back and forth to keep herself stable on the ever shifting ground. Running across a vast, sand filled wasteland is much harder then running across a stone covered mountain. The feathered digimon was quick to feel the effects of the heat along with the energy she expended to keep her pace up. She slowed her running down until she came to a stop, tongue hanging from between her teeth as she panting much like a dog.
How much further would she have to run until she saw some kind of life? Had she just imagined the slim line of greyness and the orange glow? For as far as she could see, there was nothing in sight...yet. She would have to keep moving! Shika quickly pushed herself forward into another sprint but, within only a couple of steps from where she started, her foot pressed down and found that there was no ground underneath it. Her whole body went off balance and, before she could stop herself, Shika found herself tumbling into a rather large hole in the dunes.
A small screech of surprise before she landed face first at the bottom. Sand grains slid over each other following Shika's fall, effectively covering her body. Pushing herself up to her feet, she shook out her feathers once again and stared up. A small whine escaped her maw as she tried to climb her way out, only to have the sand drag her further downward. "H-Hello!" She called out for anyone who could hear her in her rather silly predicament.

Shika's cries of surprise and help did not go unnoticed. As the young raptor digimon tried to climb out of the sand pit, a faint sound of whistling could be heard and it gradually got louder and suddenly a wolf snout could be seen over head. It peaked in looking at Shika, his orange and white fur was thin and he had a drill on top his head. Clearly, a native of this desert and obviously the one who made this sand trap based on his attire. His canines were damaged as one of his teeth were broken and he looked down at her.
"Well well what have we have here? A small digimon got caught in my sand pit." He laid down hanging his paws over the side and giving her a look. "You're pretty small for a dinosaur type digimon ain't ya? Just leaving the nest Feathers?" The smiling Dorulumon said his tail swaying back and forth just out of her vision. "I wonder if you'll be any good...hmm." The canine said turning his head to the side with a hum of thought.

The small digimon's claws dug into the sand, searching for some kind of grip in the ever shifting wall. She would carefully plant her feet into the wall and ever so slowly, she attempted to get out once again. However, after about 2 steps, the sand wouldnt be able to hold her weight and Shika would tumble back down. A small whine escaped her before she paused, head tilting to the side as she picked up a high pitched sound in the distance. It almost sounded like a small bird's call, but ever so constant. It kept getting louder and louder until a head peaked in from over the trap. Immediately upon seeing the larger digimon, Shika's tail started to beat against the ground in excitement. A friend!
However, the tail beat slowed to a stop upon discovering that she has fallen into his trap. Shika couldnt help but wonder why this wolf built the trap in the first place. Why would he want to capture other digimon? She watched him curiously as he laid down and couldnt help but laugh a little at the nickname of 'Feathers'. She was quite feathery! "Hi mister! Im Shika! Im on an adventure for an orange light I saw a few nights ago! And I guess I am kind of small." Her tail had started to beat back and forth again, and she gave a small laugh at her own words. She then tilted her head at the Dorulumon. "Why would you want to trap other Digimin though.... Does that mean you can help me out?"

"Hi mister! Im Shika! Im on an adventure for an orange light I saw a few nights ago! And I guess I am kind of small." The Dorulumon mused at her giving a toothy smile, "Why would you want to trap other Digimin though.... Does that mean you can help me out?" He let out chuckle and shook his head from it.
"Of course I'll help you Feathers, how else am I going to eat you? Can't very well do it with you down there huh?" He smiled and stood up walking away and turned around letting his tail hang into the pit. "Come on Feathers, grab on. I promise to kill you painlessly if you cooperate, if not, that's fine too. You'll eventually starve to death and die and I'll just eat you then. Choice is yours Feathers." The wolf said, swaying his tail back and forth in front of her. "Oh and don't try any funny stuff unless you want to know what a drill feels like in your body." He warned.

Shika's head once again tilted to the side, a look of curiousity lighting up her purple eyes. Eat her? Well that wouldnt be rather nice. She doubted that she'd taste any good either, being so small and all full of feathers. She carefully watched as the wolf digimon turned around, lowering his tail down for her to climb up with. Her eyes followed the drill bit at the tip swaying back and forth, like a pendulum on a string.
Shika hesitated for a little while before making a decision and moving in to wrap her claws around his tail. Her feet came to rest on the base of the drill at the tip. As she waited for him to pull her up and out, she spoke. "I dont think I'd taste very good!!" Once she was on semi-solid ground, Shika would quickly jump off and look towards the predator. If the Dorulumon made any move to clamp his jaws around her, Shika would quickly turn on her heel and bolt away from him. However, if he made no move to hurt her, she would stand next to the hole and smile at him. Once he would look over to her, he would notice her tail start to sway behind her. "Whats your name Mister?"

"I don't think I'd taste very good!!" The Dorulumon chuckled as he was bringing her out of the sand, "How would we know that if we don't try?" He stated. The Dorulumon looked at Shika as she hopped off his tail onto the sand, he turned and realized just how small she was. Not good, she'd not even make a decent snack let alone a full course meal. He let out a sigh, "Whats your name Mister?" The feathered digimon asked, and the wolf looked at her.
"What's it to you Feathers? Not like you need to know it much longer, you'll be in my belly." He said with a toothy smile, despite his threat he still had yet to make any movement towards her. A curious fellow for someone intent on eating her, "Though I suppose you knowing it can't do me any harm, my name is Aegis." He said. He laid down on the sand and crossed his fore paws, his tail swaying back and forth and a smile across his face.
"Now...are you going to make me chase you, or are you going to cooperate and let me cook you? I'd prefer to have a cooked meal you know." Aegis asked watching her curiously. "I'd have to pluck ya first though Feathers to get to the tender scaly meat." He said with a chuckle.

Shika let out a small giggle at his comment about her being his meal, her claws covering her small snout. Despite his condtant threat of eating her, Shika seemed rather calm around the hungry predator. She watched him with the curiosity of a child, purple eyes shining bright in the sunlight. Once he mentioned his name, her tail started to beat faster and he would notice purple electricity sparking between her horns. "Thats a cool name! My names Shika!"
She appeared to be rather confident that he wouldnt eat her, even going as far as moving closer to him as the wolf laid down. It was either extreme confidence, or lack of common sense. A small whine escaped her as he mentioned plucking her feathers off. "But I like my feathers!" She pouted at Dorulumon, her tail stilling in the sand. "I wouldnt eat me anyway. Im shocky!" As if she wanted to emphasise her "shockiness", the sprks from before came to life, this time trailing from her horn down the spikes of her spine. The electricity crackled in the heat, disappating as it arked away from her body and into the air. "Is Mr. Aegis from the big sandy world?" Her words were childish although many adults would be able to tell she was talking about the desert in which they lied.

"Thats a cool name! My names Shika!" Aegis couldn't help but chuckle at this strange digimon. She was a strange little thing, her innocence was something else, even in the face of danger she was willing to be friendly...or could she sense he had decided against it. At this point, he was just teasing her and it seemed she knew it.
"I like Feathers better." He replied. He watched the infant digimon get closer, within distance of his jaws. "But I like my feathers!" Aegis softened his gaze at her with a soft smile after she replied to his comment of plucking her. "I wouldnt eat me anyway. Im shocky!" Aegis mused at her display of electricity. Certainly eating this chick would lead to indigestion he thought sarcastically. "Is Mr. Aegis from the big sandy world?"
"Hey Feathers, don't call me Mr...I'm not that old. Mr is my dads title...even if he is a bum." His tail waved through the air, the glint of the sun shimmering off the drill bit. "Yes, I've lived here my whole life. Since I was a pup, is Feathers from the big sandy world too?" He mused bringing his snout closer to her. If she'd let him, his cold nose would touch her belly in a display of friendship.

Another short giggle came from Shika once he decided that 'Feathers' was a better name than what she already had. It was quite fitting, actually! Her claws once again covered her small snout at him telling her not to call him Mister. She gave a small giggle at it, teeth glinting in the suns rays as she smiled shyly. "Sorry Mist- I mean, Sorry Aegis!" As if by prediction, she giggled again at her mistake. It appeared she was full of laughter.
Purple eyes drifted towards the metal drill bit at the tip of his tail, watching it sway back and forth in the sunlight. The rays glinted off the drill, a small reflection of the metal moving constantly in the sand. Her attention was turned back to the Dorulumon at his question and she shook her head. Upon touching his snout to her belly, Aegis would most likely feel static built up within her feathers, the metal rachis constantly conducting electricity. It was enough to send a small shock to him, possibly enough to hurt a bit but not damage. Shika giggled and wrapped her claws around his metal headphone-like band, using it to climb onto his head and neck as she spoke. "Nuh-uh! Im from the big rocky hill!" Once she was on top of his head, shed raise her head to look aroind, pointing once she found Mount Savage. "Over there! Over there! Thats where Im from!"

"Nuh-uh! Im from the big rocky hill!" Once she was on top of his head, shed raise her head to look around, pointing once she found Mount Savage. "Over there! Over there! Thats where Im from!"
The small electrical shock caused Aegis to ruffle his nose, it felt kind of good in a way. What he didn't expect was for Shika to climb onto his head, not that he mind. He was still awfully hungry but the thought of eating her had long past. He looked to the direction she point too. The majestic stormy peaks of her home. Now it made sense.
"Oh the big rocky hill looks scary. You're pretty brave to live there." He said with a chuckle. He tried his best to view the digimon from his vantage point, to little avail. "So...I've pretty much given up on trying to eat you...all that 'shocky' you do will give me gas for weeks. Ha ha ha." Aegis continued to wave his tail happily back and forth. "Besides, I bet your parents will miss you. You should probably be on your way."

Once Aegis moved his head to look to Mount Savage, Shika couldnt help but lose her balance, wobbling a bit from the movement. She wrapped her small claws around the back of his neck, pressing her head to it as she slid to his shoulders. The soft feeling of his fur against her feathers felt nice, and she made a small rumbling sound in her throat akin to a purr, a quiet high-pitched hum coming her between her jaws.
Her attention, however, returned to Aegis as he spoke. Shika let out a small laugh, rocking herself back against his metal spikes. "Yea! Yea! Shika's very brave and very scary!" She waved her arms up as she did so, making a rather pathetic growl, teeth gleaming in the sun. The raptor let out rather pathetic small roar. Sparks came off her body at the display, although the roar didnt last long before Shika was giggling again.
Once he mentioned her parents, Shika shook her head and laid herself against his soft neck. "I dont have a mom or dad. Im always by myself!" Hed feel her tail sway back and forth along his spine. "Other Digimon dont like to come near me. But Im okay by myself!" Despite everything, the small digimon had a rather positive outlook on life.

"I dont have a mom or dad. Im always by myself!" Aegis couldn't believe such a small child was out alone trying to make it. His expression soured at this new information, "No parents huh?" Aegis emphasized.
"Other Digimon dont like to come near me. But Im okay by myself!" Aegis chuckled at her, "What? You mean no one wants to bother themselves with Feathers? I guess I'm the lucky one...or am I?" He teased.
"So Feathers, if you don't mind my asking, how'd a cute little thing like you wind up in one of my food traps anyway?" Aegis wondered. He remained laying on the ground, his tail swaying back and forth. He was beginning to take a liking to this little electric digimon.
He would enjoy her company a little bit longer before sending her on her way, though a part of him didn't like that someone her size would be off on her own without some kind of protection. How silly of him to think of things like that, especially since they just met. Who was he to involve himself in the life of a complete stranger, even if she was fun to be around. Just as he was thinking that, his stomach let out a small rumble of hunger. Knowing she won't be a meal meant his belly would remain empty for a while longer.
"My stomach is like a needy child. Ha ha ha." He chuckled.

Shika giggled, nodding her head up and down as her feathered tail beat against Aegis's back. "Very lucky! Very lucky! And I was running and fell in! I saw a small grey line and a weird orange light waaaaaay out in the sandy world." She stretched her arms to her side as she said it, emphasizing how far it was when she saw it. Carefully moving to stand on the wolf's back, Shika turned and looked her head to the sky.
Her smile faded and she tilted her head to the side. She swore it was in that direction the a few nights before. "I cant seem to find it though... Oh! Did Aegis see it? I wanted to see where it was coming from! What if it was a biiiiig city?" She giggled at the aspect, wondering what could habe been beyond the desert. "Has Aegis ever been away from the big sandy world?" She looked towards him with curiosity
