The World Now, 3185

After many battles and hardships, the Digital World and human world is in a long term peace, as far as world threatening events are concerned. Most digimon are simply living out their days in any number of ways in their many civilizations throughout the world. The only thing of note is that because of the numerous battles and dimensional manipulations, the dimensional barrier has become unstable and the Digital World has become connected to many different universes, some of it being other Digital Worlds, some worlds of unknown creature. The world was taken by surprise at first but as time passed and no noticeable problems became apparent, the world accepted this as its new normal. The governments quickly establishing travel points whenever a new connection to a world is made. The Digital World became a bustling melting pot of a variety of different types of creatures and tourists.
