The Digital Intervention Gauntlet, or D.I.G. for short, is the critical component of W.A.D.A. Agents, both humans and hybrids alike. The device is worn as a gauntlet covering the hand entirely and going up the arm in varying lengths depending on the model. Regardless, the standard components of the D.I.G. are the same in all models.
Each D.I.G. has a minimum length of going from the hand to the elbow of the wearer. Full-length models are available. Mounted on the forearm section of every D.I.G., there lies the main screen. It is this screen that allows most function of the D.I.G. to be accessed and viewed. All messages, maps, updates, Digimon information, etc, can be viewed on this screen. The screen pops up out of the unit when needed otherwise it is safely tucked into the D.I.G. The other features of the D.I.G. are as follows.
High Endurance: Built with chrome digizoid the unit can endure direct attacks from conventional weapons with a blade. It can be used as a shield but it isn't recommended as if it does get damaged it is costly to repair. Digimon with high levels of strength are known to be able to damage the unit on initial impact so it is recommended for human use.
Digivice: The main function of the D.I.G. is to serve as digivice between human and partners. It allows the partner to evolve and heal. In the case of hybrids, this component is modified slightly to enable the shift from human to Digimon, as well as slide evolution and evolution progression.
Communication: Each D.I.G. has a built in communication function. The default mode is text based, but upgrades are available to include voice communication, similar to a walkie talkie. The range is unlimited, allowing quick communication between any point on either the Digital World or Earth. The exception is inter-dimensional communication. In order to communicate between worlds, one must be somewhere within the D.S.S. Tartarus, relay their call from their D.I.G. through the Tartarus' comlink, or be of high enough ranking to have upgraded their D.I.G. unit to allow direct communication. However, this signal can be interrupted or intercepted and redirected by anyone who has the means of doing so. It can also receive email.
GPS: Each D.I.G. has a built in GPS system, allowing them to transmit their own location to the Tartarus, as well as allowing Agents to track and find each other. This also allows reinforcements to be sent directly to the exact location of an Agent in distress. Maps of both the Digital World and Earth are available, as well. The GPS can be disabled at any time from Tartarus to protect it's agents if they were ever in danger. It can also be destroyed on the gauntlet itself to prevent tracking.
Digimon Evaluation and Statistics Log: This function allows an Agent to view their partners level and statistics. It shows what level the Digimon is, if it is injured, what it's powers are, and what Type/Attribute the Digimon is. This feature can also be used to scan a rival Digimon and gain it's information. It cannot, however, scan another's partnered digimon. That information would be data protected by the others gauntlet.
Slide Evolution: (THIS IS FOR HYBRIDS ONLY) The D.I.G. of hybrid units has an additional feature that allows the Agent to not only view and select the spirit to use while in human form, but also move from spirit to spirit in Digimon form. The D.I.G. has be specially modified to evolve and change shape to comfortably fit whatever spirit the Agent so uses, so it is always available to use. This model is programmed to assimilate within the data of the spirit to avoid damage through battle. The user can materialize it whenever they need to in digimon form to slide evolve.
