Talia led Miles through town for several blocks until she reached her destination. Sure enough, snuggled in right between Bullmon's Antique Shoppe and PetitMeramon's Firework Emporium was a small, run down building. A dusty, dirty sign emblazoned above the front door read "Tali-'s El-t- Boxing Hal-" With all the missing letters, one could only imagine how elite it once was. The front door was made of four glass panels, but one was missing and boarded up. Hanging on a nail inside the door, visible through an intact window, was a bright red "Sorry, We're Closed" sign. Also, several windows along the front wall were smashed and had holes in them, as if someone had thrown heavy objects through them. Talia was whistling as she pulled out a key and unlocked the front door and opened it. As she did, some small pieces of plaster fell off the walls. She flipped the sign over to the green "OPEN" side as she entered. Smiling, she turned back to Miles and said in a singsongy voice "We're here! Come on in! Don't be shy!" She held the door open and waited for Miles to enter. When Miles stepped inside, he would find the outside of the building betrayed the inside. Among the peeling paint on the walls and the dusty and crooked tables were some of the most sophisticated and state of the art workout equipment he had ever seen. Punching bags of all sizes and weight sets with unbelievable limits were everywhere. Brand new treadmills and stationary bikes lined the dirty walls. In the middle of it all were three pristine boxing rings that looked like they had just been installed that morning. Talia wandered around and eventually sat in a chair close to the center ring and sighed. "It's not much, but it's home. What do you think?" SoltheGuilmon

Miles looked at the building from the outside and it looked very suspicious, what was this place she took him to? It didn't look very sanitary and the location was very crude to say the least. "We're here! Come on in! Don't be shy!" Talia called out to Miles who hesitantly stepped forward, "Um...not to be rude...but where is here exactly?" Miles questioned before stepping inside. Once he did however, he was completely blown away by the physical representation on his face. "Wha...wha...wha..wha..." Was all he could say. "It's not much, but it's home. What do you think?" She asked, Miles shook his head and looked at her, "Are you some kind of legendary coach!?" Miles exclaimed excitedly, it seemed he forgot her little display of force from before. "Are you going to train me, Ms. Talia?" The blue pup said, his tail wagging a mile a minute. He was always up for some training, it seemed he found his way in to his desired line of work.

Talia used her golden vines to swing herself up and over the ropes of the center ring, laughing as she landed facing Miles. "Well, I don't know about legendary, but this gym did give rise to some pretty decent names back in the day," she said. She flicked one of her vines across the room and hit a switch on the wall. A ceiling light sparked to life and cast a dim, flickering light over a corner of the room. On the now illuminated wall, dusty old pictures hung from the crooked nails, each with a picture of various fighters from the past. Togemon the Lightning, GeoGreymon the Fierce, Centarumon the Swift, and Kangarumon the Ruthless.
"These are just a few of my students. Maybe you or your father knew some of them? I know of your father, and wish I had gotten to train him myself. The gym that did, they are doing fantastic on his fame. Here...well, we get by." Just as she spoke, the light bulb she turned on burst out and rained glass down on the ground. "Oh, well. Had to replace that bulb, anyway." Talia said as she regained her composure from the sudden pop. "Well, what are you waiting for? Hop on up, pup!" She waved for Miles to join her.

Miles looked at the framed fighters on the wall and recognized each of them, Miles turned to look at Talia. "I know of these fighters. My dad beat each of them during his career several times." Miles said looking at Talia, "Did you train them? If so, I don't know if I should train here. No offense to you or this gym but I'm looking to have a successful career." Miles said turning and heading for the exit. "Thanks for the opportunity but I think I'll look elsewhere for my start, maybe will meet again Miss." Miles said ignoring the sudden pop of the bulb. Miles would head for the exit and look somewhere else to get his start but could be stopped by Talia if need be.

Talia frowned as Miles turned and began to walk away. She then chuckled a little so that Miles would hear her for sure. "Young one, you have much to learn. Just because my students lost to your father doesn't make them less skilled or bad at what they do. Your father was just better. Having said that, I have learned a lot more since I trained them. Let's just say some.....associates of mine helped me out and now I have a better understanding of the sport. Observe." Talia would wait until Miles was looking at her before standing in the dead center of the ring and closing her eyes.
"Palmon....SHINKA!!!!!!" A bright side encased Talia and lit up the entire room. It slowly grew in size from the child sized Palmon to a height of about 5 and a half feet tall. The light suddenly erupted into bits of data, and in Palmon's place was a cactus looking creature with boxing gloves. "Togemon!" Talia's new form looked a bit stronger than the average Togemon, and her gloves were pure gold color instead of the usual red. "How do you like me now, kid?" She said.
Talia jumped up and over the ropes and her momentum carried her clear across the room, landing directly in front of Miles. "I didn't fully grasp the concepts of boxing until I learned how to evolve. Now, I can train you to fight circles around anyone you meet, and even take on your old man in the ring! So, still want to leave?" Talia crossed her spiky arms across her equally spiky chest and looked down at the young puppy digimon.

"Young one, you have much to learn." Miles stopped and rolled his eyes before turning around to look at the plant digimon. "Just because my students lost to your father doesn't make them less skilled or bad at what they do. Your father was just better. Having said that, I have learned a lot more since I trained them. Let's just say some.....associates of mine helped me out and now I have a better understanding of the sport. Observe." Miles arced a brow at the word observe, and then the next thing that happened changed his expression entirely. His mouth and eyes were wide open as she was engulfed in a bright light revealing her adult form, Togemon. "How do you like me now, kid?" Miles could not form audible words, it was the first time he had seen someone evolve to their adult form. "I didn't fully grasp the concepts of boxing until I learned how to evolve. Now, I can train you to fight circles around anyone you meet, and even take on your old man in the ring! So, still want to leave?" Miles shook his head and a twinkle appeared in his eye. "No! Please! Show me how to fight! I should have never judged you and I'm sorry but if you say I can be even stronger then my dad, then I'll train under you! I promise to give it my very best!" Miles said his tail wagging a mile a minute. "So...Talia, what do I do!?" He anxiously asked awaiting her response, then something hit him. Why would she train him to begin with? What was in it for her? He noticeably calmed down at the thought, "Wait a minute, why would you do this for me anyway? You should hate my dad for beating all your fighters...so why train his son?" Miles asked crossing his arms. "Doesn't make sense to me."

Talia was surprised by Miles asking such an intelligent question, as he seemed to see right through her. But she chuckled in her deep Togemon voice and smiled at her young companion.
"Alright, you caught me. It was no accident that I found you in the park today. I have been to many of your fathers fights and recognized you from the crowd. I knew who you were the second I saw you today. The truth is, I want to beat your father. Like, really bad. And what better way to do that than by training you to be better than him?" Talia went to pat Miles on the head with her glove. "You want to be the best fighter you can be. I want to help you be that. And what better trainer could you ask for than someone who has as much conviction to reach a goal as I do? I have the highest respect for your father, don't get me wrong. But I need to challenge him one last time before I retire. It's a matter of pride and honor, you see? Do you understand that?" Talia now look sullen, yet resolved at the same time. This was very important to her.

Miles respected Talia's honesty and reasoning and she had a point, if what she said was true, it was plausible he actually may become stronger then him. He was senior's son after all, "I see...then if what you say is true. You're the best trainer I could have hoped for. Someone who wants to be better then my dad, will train me better then I could have hoped. So I'll stay if you really can make me strong!" Miles said pumping his fist, he walked into the center of the ring. "So uh, what do I do first Talia? Or would you prefer coach?" Miles said smiling at her.

Talia hit her gloves together in excitement. "Excellent!! And you can still call me Talia if you want. Or coach if you want to sound formal. So, here's what you do first." Talia closed her eyes and was encased by light. A moment later, the light vanished and she was back in her Palmon form. She walked over to the front door again and beckoned for Miles to follow. When he got there, she would pick up a very dirty floor mat and drag a chair from the hallway. She held them out to Miles. "Here. This rug is really dirty. Take it outside, hang it over the chair, and beat it for a while until it's clean. I'll be in my office if you need me." Talia would then walk into a side room and shut the door. Should Miles try to speak to her after receiving his directions, she would merely wave her hand and point at the door without a word.

Miles eyed the rug given to him by his new coach and the amount of filth on it and visibly gagged. "Uh...Talia, I thought this was supposed to be training." Miles stated, but when she waved him off with a point he sighed. "Is this going to be a situation where I just agreed to do someone's chores?" Miles headed for the entrance, stepping outside.
"It's like Lia all over again." He said with a pout and a puffed cheek. He looked at the relatively empty street and the businesses on it before beating the rug against the wall. "This is so dumb..." he would mumble. He'd continue to beat the rug until told to stop. Constantly coughing at the cloud of dust, his clean blue fur steadily becoming coaked in it.

Talia peaked out the window occasionally. His look of disappointment very familiar and it made her smile. It had been awhile since she last had another to train and she was looking forward to it. To think she would be training the top boxers son to beat his dad it was a dream come true. Now she just had to get him to stay with her.
After awhile she came out and looked at him and the rug. It was cleaner than it had been that was for sure. Though years worth of grim had accumulated on it and left it stained. The word 'Champion' had been hidden underneath what he managed to get off.
"It hasn't looked that good in years," Talia said laughing "Through it seems that dirt is contagious. You best go wash up and we can go grab a bite. My treat this time since your are going to be making us a lot of money in the future to go with that career of yours."
Talia would take the rug back inside and place it on the floor as she pointed him towards the bathroom which held the shower stalls. It was very basic one portion holding the toilets and had lockers along one wall then it branched into another room that held the showers.

"It hasn't looked that good in years," Miles coughed as the last whack against the chair covered him even more.
"Through it seems that dirt is contagious. You best go wash up and we can go grab a bite. My treat this time since your are going to be making us a lot of money in the future to go with that career of yours." Miles handed her the rug and looked at himself. His favored blue coat was now a caked, clumped and dark from the dirt.
"Yea...okay." Miles made his way back inside the gym and turned towards where she indicated the showers to be. He walked inside at the shower stalls and wondered if there was still any running water in this place. He removed his headband and gloves and put them on a sink nearby. He stepped inside and turned on the faucet, the water came out ice cold at first and he yelped in response but it warmed up and he stood underneath the water flow, the dirt running off of his body and down the drain.
He closed his eyes while the water washed over him and his tail wagged wildly back and forth. He spent a little more time then he needed to, having to pee as a result of the shower and then made his way back out to where Talia was. His fur looking as good as new.
"That felt good. I hadn't taken one since I left home." He said walking up to her. "So, what exactly did you have in mind to eat?" He asked crossing his arms.

Talia was standing looking at a wall a bunch of rugs hanging there all just as dirty as the first one. Normally sweat towels hanged there so they can be used. She turned towards him as she heard his footsteps.
"That felt good. I hadn't taken one since I left home." He said walking up to her. "So, what exactly did you have in mind to eat?"
"The food of champions and afterwards you can come back and clean the rest of these," she said motioning to the rugs. "It will take all night unless you do it properly," she said smirking as she headed for the door. "C'mon pup or I'm going to leave ya behind."

"The food of champions and afterwards you can come back and clean the rest of these," Miles eyed the rugs his mouth and arms dropping in succession, "It will take all night unless you do it properly," Miles let out an exaggerated sigh and threw his head back in protest.
"C'mon pup or I'm going to leave ya behind." He glared at her as he dragged his feet out the door to follow his new, questionable, coach.

Talia walked into her home with a smile. His sighs had not gone unheard and they were music to her ears. She had heard those same exact sighs from her students that she gave these very same tasks too. He would slowly make his way up the totem pole of chores.
"Good luck pup," Talia said walking towards the back rooms. "Oh and if I don't hear those rugs being pounded then I'm going to come kick your butt into gear," she said stopping halfway before continuing with a laugh. As he pulled down the rugs he would notice some are larger than his body. Which made them far heavier.
