"You're right I am not," Talvi chuckled. "History repeats you know. Even if the world is purged eventually humans will return or digimon will seek them out. Peace never lasts for long unfortunately. It may last longer for digimon than humans because you live longer but in the end the circle of life rules everything."
"That being said. I should be trying to make my escape. In light of this new information I need to tell what few allies I already have," Damian chuckled, "Still insist on trying to escape from here? It's impossible with out Baihumon." He said, she clearly paid him no mind and sent out one final prayer.
Naoi I need out of here and there is some new light on Bagramons plan. It spans a lot farther than we thought.
Just as the thought left her mind, a gust of wind erupted from the center of the room. Damian was taken off guard, nearly tumbling forward and turned around looking to its source as a dimensional gateway tore open and out stepped Naoi in his regular form. His angelic demeanor betrayed by the chill of death that followed him, a black mist spreading out across the floor. Baihumon's own energy dissipating it before it reached him. Damian looked both surprised and scared as he lifted his arm to shield himself from the wind.
After a moment the portal closed behind him and he stood looking at Talvi's figure. A small smile on his lips, "I don't believe it! You really summoned the angel of death!" Damian said holding on to his pedestal. Naoi looked towards him, "A devout follower of Lord Baihumon, here I thought all of you had been eradicated when Yggdrasil went to sleep." Naoi said eyeing his figure. "✋︎ ♋︎❍︎ ♒︎♏︎❒︎♏︎ ⧫︎□︎ ⧫︎♋︎&︎♏︎ ⧫︎♒︎♏︎ ♒︎⍓︎♌︎❒︎♓︎♎︎ □︎♐︎ ⬥︎♓︎■︎♎︎ ♌︎♋︎♍︎&︎ ⧫︎□︎ ⧫︎♒︎♏︎ 👎︎♓︎♑︎♓︎⧫︎♋︎●︎ 🕈︎□︎❒︎●︎♎︎." Naoi spoke to him in his native tongue.
Damian stood up straight and calmed himself then glared at Naoi, "✡︎□︎◆︎🕯︎❒︎♏︎ ♓︎■︎⧫︎♏︎❒︎♐︎♏︎❒︎♓︎■︎♑︎ ⬥︎♓︎⧫︎♒︎ ⧫︎♒︎♏︎ ⬥︎□︎❒︎●︎♎︎ □︎♐︎ ⧫︎♒︎♏︎ ●︎♓︎❖︎♓︎■︎♑︎. ❄︎♒︎♋︎⧫︎ ♓︎⬧︎ ♐︎□︎❒︎♌︎♓︎♎︎♎︎♏︎■︎✏︎" He spoke back. Naoi positioned himself in front of Talvi, "☟︎♏︎❒︎ ♐︎♋︎●︎●︎♓︎■︎♑︎ ♒︎♏︎❒︎♏︎ ⬥︎♋︎⬧︎ ♌︎⍓︎ ❍︎♓︎⬧︎⧫︎♋︎&︎♏︎📪︎ ⬧︎♒︎♏︎ ♓︎⬧︎ ■︎□︎⧫︎ ❍︎♏︎♋︎■︎⧫︎ ⧫︎□︎ ♎︎♓︎♏︎ ♒︎♏︎❒︎♏︎" Damian shook his head at Naoi's reasoning, "❄︎♒︎♋︎⧫︎ ♓︎⬧︎ ■︎□︎⧫︎ ♐︎□︎❒︎ ⍓︎□︎◆︎ ⧫︎□︎ ♎︎♏︎♍︎♓︎♎︎♏︎✏︎ 💧︎♒︎♏︎ ♐︎♏︎●︎●︎ ♒︎♏︎❒︎♏︎📪︎ ⧫︎♒︎♏︎❒︎♏︎♐︎□︎❒︎♏︎ ⬧︎♒︎♏︎ ❍︎◆︎⬧︎⧫︎ ♎︎♓︎♏︎."
Naoi arched a brow at Damian and spread his wings to seem intimidating, a small surge of power releasing from his body, "✋︎ ⬥︎♓︎●︎●︎ ■︎□︎⧫︎ ⧫︎□︎●︎♏︎❒︎♋︎⧫︎♏︎ ♋︎ ●︎□︎⬥︎●︎⍓︎ ⬧︎♏︎❒︎❖︎♋︎■︎⧫︎ ♋︎♎︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎♓︎■︎♑︎ ❍︎♏︎ ♓︎■︎ ⬥︎♒︎♋︎⧫︎ ♓︎⧫︎ ♓︎⬧︎ ✋︎ ⬧︎♒︎□︎◆︎●︎♎︎ ♌︎♏︎ ♎︎□︎♓︎■︎♑︎." Damian clenched his teeth and pulled the jewel from the pedestal, the sudden absorption of power that had been occurring halted, and Baihumon's protective barrier had fallen.
"❄︎♒︎♏︎■︎ ♓︎■︎ ⧫︎♒︎♏︎ ■︎♋︎❍︎♏︎ □︎♐︎ ☹︎□︎❒︎♎︎ 👌︎♋︎♓︎♒︎◆︎❍︎□︎■︎📪︎ ✋︎ ⬥︎♓︎●︎●︎ ♏︎■︎♋︎♍︎⧫︎ ⧫︎♒︎♏︎ ●︎♋︎⬥︎ □︎■︎ ⍓︎□︎◆︎✏︎" He yelled, just then the stone shone brightly and Damian released a powerful beam from it at Naoi. Naoi lifted his hand and summoned forth his staff, twirling it once before erecting a barrier to protect himself and Talvi. The strength of the beam causing the shield to bend inwards towards Naoi, threatening to break. Naoi glared at Damian but did not seem worried, "Know your place servant." He said, at that moment the shield became smaller and more focused then shot forward and dispelled Damian's magic.
Damian flinched as his magic dissipated into sparks and Naoi put down his staff and raised his free hand, "Ammit!" A wave of destructive light shot forward from his palm, breaking apart the floor and then finally into Damian it struck. The follower of Baihumon yelled in agony as his robe tore and his mask shattered revealing his human face. He landed with a thud by Baihumon's paws.
"Y...you have broken....the law.....Anubismon...you will be punished....by Lord Baihumon!" Naoi scoffed, "Hmph...then wake him early from his slumber. Let me face your master's punishment." Naoi said slamming the base of his staff into the ground and spreading his wings. His taller figure completely overshadowing the smaller Talvi, Damian clenched his teeth and his red eyes narrowed, giving a distasteful glance at him. "You can't can you? Yes. Someone who has been content being trapped in his cage wouldn't dare bite the hand that feeds him. You are nothing more than a servant trying to play god." Damian clenched his hands together and became visibly angry, his blood running from his forehead.
"Damn you Anubismon! Have you lost your way? You would never do such things! You're supposed to be loyal!" Naoi did not respond to that statement...instead he felt his heart quiver. Fear again huh? Naoi turned around and looked at Talvi, his soft stare and small smile feeling welcoming.
"Are you ready to leave this place?" He asked. "Anubismon! 👎︎□︎■︎🕯︎⧫︎ ♓︎♑︎■︎□︎❒︎♏︎ ❍︎♏︎✏︎" Damian yelled from his resting spot.

Talvi raised an arm shielding herself from the strong wind. It took a moment but eventually faded enough that she could put down her arm and see Naoi standing there. She smiled a bit relieved he had answered.
"I don't believe it! You really summoned the angel of death!" Damian said holding on to his pedestal. Naoi looked towards him, "A devout follower of Lord Baihumon, here I thought all of you had been eradicated when Yggdrasil went to sleep." Naoi said eyeing his figure. "✋︎ ♋︎❍︎ ♒︎♏︎❒︎♏︎ ⧫︎□︎ ⧫︎♋︎&︎♏︎ ⧫︎♒︎♏︎ ♒︎⍓︎♌︎❒︎♓︎♎︎ □︎♐︎ ⬥︎♓︎■︎♎︎ ♌︎♋︎♍︎&︎ ⧫︎□︎ ⧫︎♒︎♏︎ 👎︎♓︎♑︎♓︎⧫︎♋︎●︎ 🕈︎□︎❒︎●︎♎︎." Talvi cocked her head and cross her arms. She didn't understand a word of it but she would let them talk.
Talvi stared at Naoi's back. It didn't seem to be a friendly conversation, "✋︎ ⬥︎♓︎●︎●︎ ■︎□︎⧫︎ ⧫︎□︎●︎♏︎❒︎♋︎⧫︎♏︎ ♋︎ ●︎□︎⬥︎●︎⍓︎ ⬧︎♏︎❒︎❖︎♋︎■︎⧫︎ ♋︎♎︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎♓︎■︎♑︎ ❍︎♏︎ ♓︎■︎ ⬥︎♒︎♋︎⧫︎ ♓︎⧫︎ ♓︎⬧︎ ✋︎ ⬧︎♒︎□︎◆︎●︎♎︎ ♌︎♏︎ ♎︎□︎♓︎■︎♑︎." Damian clenched his teeth and pulled the jewel from the pedestal, the sudden absorption of power that had been occurring halted, and Baihumon's protective barrier had fallen.
"❄︎♒︎♏︎■︎ ♓︎■︎ ⧫︎♒︎♏︎ ■︎♋︎❍︎♏︎ □︎♐︎ ☹︎□︎❒︎♎︎ 👌︎♋︎♓︎♒︎◆︎❍︎□︎■︎📪︎ ✋︎ ⬥︎♓︎●︎●︎ ♏︎■︎♋︎♍︎⧫︎ ⧫︎♒︎♏︎ ●︎♋︎⬥︎ □︎■︎ ⍓︎□︎◆︎✏︎" Talvi did not move from her spot. Knowing Naoi was protecting her though she had to wonder what brought this on in the first place. "Know your place servant." It was a brief battle and definitely showed her how powerful Naoi could be. She wouldn't want to meet him in a back alley when he's mad.
"Y...you have broken....the law.....Anubismon...you will be punished....by Lord Baihumon!" Naoi scoffed, "Hmph...then wake him early from his slumber. Let me face your master's punishment." Talvi definitely would like to see that. It was probably a good thousand years too soon.
You're supposed to be loyal!" He was loyal. Loyal enough to try to prevent the apocalypse rather that trying to rebuild a utopia afterwards. He was loyal to this world and wasn't trying to reshape it to his image. Talvi found his words to have little meaning.
"Are you ready to leave this place?" Talvi nodded smiling slightly.
"Damian, Anubismon is far more loyal than you. He is protecting the world not trying to let it go to hell and reshape it in his own image. Your loyalty is admirable but misplaced in my opinion. I hope you don't come to regret your choice when that time finally comes," Talvi said. She had no idea what he had yelled but she hoped her words struck a cord.
She then reached out grabbing Anubismons hand. She was eager to leave this void. She was sure Damian would no doubt have bitter feelings and she would rather not be around when he chose to express them.

Naoi took Talvi's hand in his own, his eyes focusing on it. He had never in his life touched a human being, her hand was small compared to his own; resting in his palm. It was soft and a bit cold, it felt fragile like it could be so easily broken. How interesting he found it. Before he realized it, he had rubbed his thumb over it's pale complexion. Along her knuckles and backhand, his analytical eye and thoughts broken immediately when he realized he had been silently staring. He brought up his yellow eyes to meet Talvi and he turned a bit red, embarrassed, he looked away and cleared his throat.
"L-lets get going..." He brought his other arm around her back and pulled her into his chest. His wings arched over her, and closed he shielded her from the opening of his portal. As soon as it was stable, he picked her up from the ground and flew into it. Damian had no choice but to watch, unable to do anything. He was then left there alone, just him and his master.
Naoi took her just outside the entrance to the temple, his wings coming back down and he released her. He took two steps back to give them some room and he took in her figure for a moment before speaking, "Try not to fall into any more holes you can't fly from okay?" He said as a joke. He looked around the Digital Worlds desert, taking in the heat and the sight of endless sand. The humid wind blew against his body and his short fur looked like a wave of grass being blown each follicle, falling like dominoes in the direction the wind took it.
"Such a beautiful landscape..." He thought allowed.

Talvi looked up at Naoi questioningly then down at her hand. He rubbed it gently and it left her wondering if he had ever held hands before. His wonderment left a small smile on her face. It seemed Naoi wasn't use to any of this. Her friendship has probably been one of his firsts. If he had any other friends they must not have treated him the same as her.
"L-lets get going..." She was left staring up at his shoulder has leaned in around her. A part of her knew it was to protect her but a hopeless romantic side reared its head. It felt like she was being hugged. She could feel his warmth and his fur. Her arms instinctively came up to catch herself on his neck as he picked her up. She probably weighed next to nothing to him. She could feel and hear the portals wind but she was safe and she knew it.
Talvi caught herself as he left her down. Her eyes slowly adjusting to the desert sands once more, "Try not to fall into any more holes you can't fly from okay?" She chuckled and watched him take in the landscape. Her gaze followed it out into the dunes.
"Such a beautiful landscape..."
"I agree. It is beautiful to look at but it can be harsh. Such is the way of the world," Talvi said smiling. "I don't want you getting in trouble. You can write this off as business if you want. I did promise information on Bagramon's plan after all," she didn't want to cut this short. If anything she felt most comfortable at deaths side. Which was something she never thought she would say.
"Damian mentioned the angels were dying. That only a few remained and that those that had died had been replaced with the dark one and his followers in disguise. Apparently they convene on the summit. I thought it would be fair warning," Talvi said. She knew this news would sour his mood. She wasn't sure if she should approach to comfort him or not. He had been so awkward just holding her hand she was sure the conflicting emotions he would feel if she touched him again may drive him away. The last thing she would ever want.
"I'll help foil their plans whatever they may be. As your friend I'll stand beside you," Talvi said.

I did promise information on Bagramon's plan after all," Naoi's sightseeing was interrupted by Talvi's comments and he looked at her. Information regarding Bagramon, his sudden interference with Talvi's trial. He had not been able to locate the Sage for quite some time. Still, for some reason the talk of such things made him feel troubled.
"Damian mentioned the angels were dying. That only a few remained and that those that had died had been replaced with the dark one and his followers in disguise. Apparently they convene on the summit. I thought it would be fair warning,"
Naoi looked towards the ground, narrowing his gaze as he contemplated on her words. He remained silent and his expression was troubled, "I see...that would explain the sudden increase of angelic souls disappearing....the Sage of Death must be trying to reform heaven and rid it of anyone loyal to Yggdrasil, the goddess. He too possesses the power to manipulate souls, he is stronger than I....which means as an angel who is loyal to Yggdrasil, it's only a matter of time before he targets me." Naoi thought hard about it.
"I wonder of Lady Sanzomon is okay?" Suddenly, a realization hit him...Sanzomon had came to GranDracmon's throne to defend his actions....could it be? Was she already gone? Perhaps...that wasn't Lady Sanzomon. Could that have been the Sage of Death? Then why not kill him then? When he met with Gran Dracmon? Perhaps Naoi was still too important...or maybe he fears the repercussions if Naoi were to die. No one could truly understand that Sage. The denizens of the dark world were becoming increasingly more bold, what would happen if they believed that their would be no consequence for breaking the rules?
Were they waiting to eliminate Susanoomon wherever he may be resting? There were to many questions and it made Naoi nervous.
"I'll help foil their plans whatever they may be. As your friend I'll stand beside you," Naoi was broken from his thoughts and he looked at her, "I'm afraid against Bagramon, there is no winning. He is far to powerful, he once conquered the Digital World entirely and almost succeeded in taking the human world many years ago. He was never defeated, he merely chose to trust humans and left. Like me, he must have lost faith in the humans...it's the only explanation." Naoi looked up at the sky.
"How truly troublesome....maybe the Sovereigns awakening is the only way after all....and even then....the full might of GrandDracmon and Bagramon, heaven and hell....I'm not sure they would be able to restore order either. What am I supposed to do? This may be funny to hear, but I am truly one of the weakest beings in the spirit world. A lowly demi god in a cage surrounded by devils and gods." He said, he truly was at a loss. What could he do?

He was never defeated, he merely chose to trust humans and left. Like me, he must have lost faith in the humans...it's the only explanation." So no one could defeat him? Why would their goddess make such a digimon? Not unless he was suppose to protector and not a destroyer. In that case what was he protecting if not his creator?
"How truly troublesome....maybe the Sovereigns awakening is the only way after all....and even then....the full might of GrandDracmon and Bagramon, heaven and hell....I'm not sure they would be able to restore order either. "Never underestimate the underdog," Talvi said approaching him. "You are much stronger than you give yourself credit for. We'll think of something. Not all the gods are dead. We have to find and warn them. Together between them and us and I'm sure W.A.D.A. will want to help. It would probably turn into a full scale war," Talvi said she touched the place where his heart should be. "We may not be able to kill Bagramon but we can foil what ever they have planned."
"You can always come to me for help. Even gods need it sometimes why else would they work side by side," Talvi smiled a bit.

"You can always come to me for help. Even gods need it sometimes why else would they work side by side," Talvi smiled a bit.
He looked at her, that small delicate hand upon his breast. His heart beating into her hand behind his fur and muscle. His heart was as big as her hand, it felt peculiar against him. What is this strange sensation? Her words...they were so kind spoken. Her genuine smile made his worries a little less and her willingness to help in a hopeless situation was noble. He had to wonder...was this what a partner digimon felt with their human? He had already told her he would trust her in her dream world, but standing here in front of her...those words were turned into emotion. It wasn't just words....he suddenly began to feel like he could actually trust this person.
Something was terribly wrong he thought, he wasn't supposed to be here. Damian was right, he interfered willingly. He was beginning to treasure a friendship that would last only for a small time over the laws he once obeyed religiously. What would Yggdrasil think of him? He needed to end this....but he couldn't bring himself to do it. He realized he didn't want too. Was that wrong? It would just be a short time after all...she'd be dead before he knew it. Then he could go back to being how he was.
Naoi moved his much larger paw and pressed it against her hand on his chest, "Thank you Talvi. Your words...mean a lot." He looked down, his gaze on the head nuzzled between his breast and paw. He had to hold it so gently, remembering it's delicate frame. He had to wonder if the rest of Talvi was just as delicate...he knew mortals were weak but this was something he could not have imagined.
A short time....to him her life was the flicker of a candle flame in a wet wind. She'd be dead and he'd go back to the way he was....he felt a wrenching feeling in his stomach. It started to be familiar to him...fear. He didn't want to go back? No...he was afraid of going back. He'd have to though...he'd have to go back when she was gone. As he thought about it his heart hurt a little, just as it did when Sanji died. It was different this time...it was stronger. Pain of the heart...it was also a cause of death. Grief of a person who had lost something so precious.
He didn't like this pain....it was worse than the physical one. He pulled away from her suddenly, standing a few feet back "This was a mistake..." He said. He couldn't be friends with her, he knew that now. He had begun to grow too attached to her and the feelings she had resurfaced left him puzzled and concerned. The pain of losing something like this after a millennia of loneliness...it scared him. He looked at her with sorrowful eyes, "I'm sorry...but please don't call me ever again...I can't continue our companionship." He looked away with a frown, a look of pain in his eyes.
"Goodbye, Tal....Wind Hybrid...I will take care of the spirit world problems....you just find your elemental half." Before she could say anything to him, he took flight. Soaring fast and high into the sky before disappearing into flame. It was too much....he made the right decision...so why was his chest hurting worse then before? He felt like yelling as loud as he could. His mind was like a thick fog and he didn't know which direction to go in. This was all so conflicting. "Oh goddess....what am I doing?" He said as he made his way back to the spirit world.
Mere moments after Naoi's departure, a familiar annoying voice called from the entrance to the ruins, "GLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORIOUS!" It cried out. Yukidarumon was charging Talvi, holding a stone in his paw.

"Thank you Talvi. Your words...mean a lot." Talvi nodded. He didn't have to thank her. She wanted to do this. They were silent a long moment. His fur was so soft and his touch so gentle like he was afraid to break her. She stared at where they were connected hand in hand. She wondered how it could be that things just as small as this could come to mean so much even across races. He pulled away and it startled her out of her reverie.
"This was a mistake..." What was? Saving her? Their friendship? "I'm sorry...but please don't call me ever again...I can't continue our companionship." What was with this sudden change? She opened her mouth but he continued.
"Goodbye, Tal....Wind Hybrid...I will take care of the spirit world problems....you just find your elemental half." He left behind a confused Talvi. She watched him til he disappeared then she looked to the sand. Not a word escaping her lips. Her heart ached and silent tears formed at the corner of her eyes. She didn't know him well enough to mourn did she?
"GLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORIOUS!" Talvi quickly wiped away the tears not wanting him to see them.
"I see you got your treasure," Talvi said straightening herself. She would sort it out back in her room. Where no one could see her. Whether she chose to cry or scream. "I guess this means job complete."

"I see you got your treasure, I guess this means job complete." The white bear stopped short of her taking a deep breath, he had some how managed to locate his stone. "I DID!" He yelled then dropped his head as if in defeat, "When I awoke, you had gone so I tried looking for you....I met with mother and she helped me find the stone but she got called back to the big thingy in the sky." He threw his hand over his face and looked into the sky as if a character from a drama play.
"ALAS!! THE STONE IS BUT A MERE BROKEN RUBY!" He yelled. "I have been defeated yet again by the rumors of the world!!! I will not give up until I find the worlds greatest treasure!!!" He then remembered the reward he had promised for their help. "Ah yes! The reward.....sadly, this ruby isn't worth as much as I thought. Something of this and half what it is supposed to be....it's worth probably just five hundred units. I hope that will fare as part of your reward?" He asked handing her the money from his hidden pocket.

"I DID!" Talvi was glad they were done. Though his hanging head made her frown, "When I awoke, you had gone so I tried looking for you....I met with mother and she helped me find the stone but she got called back to the big thingy in the sky." So she was recalled to the Tartarus. She couldn't help but to wonder why. They probably couldn't reach Talvi.
"ALAS!! THE STONE IS BUT A MERE BROKEN RUBY!" He yelled. "I have been defeated yet again by the rumors of the world!!! I will not give up until I find the worlds greatest treasure!!!" Annoying bear needed to stop declaring everything so loudly. "Ah yes! The reward.....sadly, this ruby isn't worth as much as I thought. Something of this and half what it is supposed to be....it's worth probably just five hundred units. I hope that will fare as part of your reward?"
"A little bit is better than nothing I suppose," Talvi said taking it. "You keep searching you may find that treasure eventually." Talvi said pocketing it and turning on her heel to walk back towards Bai Hu. Her head was high til she was out of sight of that bear then it hung low again until the city came into sight. She tried her hardest not to think of Naoi.
She raised her head once more as she entered the city and headed for the teleporter eager to get back to her dorm room. A place she had only been to once. She thought of the Tartarus and her room and realized she couldn't call the place home. Right now it was the closest thing she had though. It was hard to simply settle for having next to nothing. Even though none of the stuff her parents bought her were truly hers either. Right now though he would love to just get and game and play herself to sleep by grinding monsters her fingers tapping the same buttons over and over.
She left the desert. The lonely vastness echoing in her heart.
